I would never have set foot in a nail shop based in the mall but I was in desperate need of a removal of my gel x set because my nail tech was unavailable for the week. I saw a few glowing reviews since the place is supposedly under new management and a photo of a well done acrylic set. This made me want to give them a try. I called just before 6pm to ask if they offer acrylic / gel x nail removal services, the lady said yes and when do I want to come. I told her I can come now and she said no come in 30 minutes so I told her ok will do. I show up at the time she said ~6:30. When I walk in I stand there awkwardly while all the workers look at me without greeting. I said hi I called for a removal. One of the ladies gestures to a far seat to sit down. I end up sitting for a good 30-40 minutes before anyone acknowledged me again. A lady noticed I was looking around for someone to come help me and she brings me water and a bag of cookies and tells me that the lady at the station next to mine will finish her current client and then help me, I said ok, thankful for the cold bottle of water as the place was HOT with no ac on. I observed about 3 floor fans on but pointed the opposite way towards the door. The same lady who brought me the water comes and asks what I need done, I told her I called and I needed a gel x removal and a new gel x set. She ends up in a hurry cutting my nails off in the middle of the floor not even at the station which I thought was wierd but was still trying to give them them a chance hoping maybe the terrible service and long wait would be in exchange for great work...wrong. Disaster only followed. When I was finally helped it was ~7:40. The older lady at the station next to mine told me to move to the station she was at, I did. Then she told me to move to another station across the room, I did. This lady then proceeds to try to pry my nails off with the edge of another fake nail. I realized what she was about to do and yanked my hand away. I told her, I don't want you to rip my nails off. She said I'm going to take them off! I said yeah you soak them off - you don't rip them off like that. She angrily got up and filled a bowl with acetone, covered my hands with a towel, and walked away without saying a word. I sat there regretting every walking into this place. The lady emerged once some time later with a bowl of food eating.... Anyways. Finally she came to check on me and began to drill off the dissolved gel x. She didn't say a word and you could tell she hates her job. The lady whom had originally asked me what I wanted (Liz) came because I looked at her worried and I told her I no longer wanted a new set, I just wanted the current nails removed and then I wanted to leave. She asked many times to get them done and I firmly declined. She offered me a discount or to come back next day so she could do my nails and I said absolutely not. Another lady came to watch the lady who was removing my set who was frustrated at removing my set. She ended up busting out a used and dull nail file. I was honestly in shock. Finally the lady disgruntled got up while the one who was watching took over with removing the leftover residue with a cotton ball and acetone. I couldn't run out of the place fast enough. At the door Liz apologized to me for not getting to me for my break set. Finally I told her not to be sorry but the reason I wouldn't allow them to do my nails was because first of all the terrible service and second for the lady whom tried to rip off my nails instead of properly removing them. Please if you're reading this and you want acrylic nails - that is never supposed to happen. Fake nails should always be soaked off, it is more expensive and more time consuming but that is the first sign you are in good hands. If a shop tries to pry off your fake nails dry - run and run fast. I could understand the wait but never the lack of service or care. Please avoid this place at all costs. read more

Came in for a gel manicure today, first time client. I was greeted as soon as i walked in which was good. I then proceeded to sit and have Tiffany begin my manicure. I felt the manicure part wasn't as detailed as I've experienced at other salons. She barely filed my nails and barely pushed my cuticles back! Then she proceeded to begin the gel color which was a wine red. Her gel polish barely had any polish in it because she was having a hard time getting gel on the brush. She was even annoyed that it was basically empty. She put on 3 coats to get it to the right color. Why the 1 star? 1. She didn't clean the gel polish around my nails!!! 2. Didn't open a new gel polish 3. Didn't put much effort into the manicure itself. She did however, give me a good hand massage! But I'm paying for my nails to look nice and last at least 2 weeks! No one greeted me or said anything that would make me think my business was important. When the lady finally worked on me, she didn't seem to happy to be there. Fast fwd to checking out. When she finally charged me, she charged me $30. I'm stunned. Acrylic Fills are $13 plus the gel polish no design, does not equal to $30. I should have questioned her, my fault. I give one star because they where really nice. I wanted pink and white powder which they have in pricing for $25, then she tells me that no. It's white tip and pink powder and to do that because pink and white powder is more expensive ($30) I said ok do that then... Then she said that it doesn't look good, to just stick with the white tip and pink powder. So I said fine! Sorry to say but work was crap,.. I got home and already having lifting... Im Very unhappy with my nails that I took them off myself. There were bubbles in my nails & it was lumpy, and you could see where they cut my real nail under the polish. They seem friendly but lazy, but at the same time want to make money off of you. They try to make you change your mind when you want a certain service, and then will overcharge you. Went in for a mani/pedi and was using a gift certificate I received the previous Christmas. When it was time to pay they tell me that my gift certificate had expired (which cannot happen in CA) and that I had to pay more. Told them forget it, gave back the gift certificate I was getting for my mom's birthday and said there, you can have that. Will be filing a claim with the BBB for refusing to accept my gift certificate. They basically called me a thief and they are the ones stealing $50 by refusing to honor their own gift certificates! read more

So the lady was taking her sweet time with my nails then she realized it was 8:40 she still wasn't done with my nails. I have been a longtime patron of LA Nails and Spa, but after today, they no longer have my business. The nail tech who did my manicure was rude, belligerent, and disrespectful. First, while attending to my cuticles, she either cut or applied too much pressure. When I said, "Ouch! That hurt." She snapped, "I only cut your nail." No apology and did not ask if I was okay. Next, there was a smudge on my thumb. I asked her to add more polish before applying the topcoat. She snapped again in a very nasty tone that it wouldn't have happened if I stopped moving around. Quickly informed her that I hadn't been "moving" around. I adjusted my purse once so it wouldn't fall. It was a slight smudge and applying a little of the polish that I brought with me without the extra nasty attitude wouldn't have cost her a thing and would have prevented another 1-star review and the loss of another customer. Oh well, the nail tech who did my pedicure was professional although in future when a customer adjusts the seat a certain way, ask before moving it. Worst place EVER! I was charged 45 for a full set and a pedicure! Paid 45 for nails that were not even, lumpy nails and when asked to fix them the only reply I got was no no fix plus seemed she was in a hungry to do what to go and sit on her desk! SAVE YOUR MONEY! I went in three days ago for a manicure and pedicure. I like getting the gel manicure to make my nail polish last longer. It's more expensive but worth it (at least everywhere else where I've gotten a gel manicure). Unfortunately here at LA nails the gel manicure lasts as long as a regular manicure. By the next day of getting the manicure the nail polish started to fade away! And by the second day the nail polish started chipping away! I should have realized they wouldn't be doing a good job when they rushed to finish because someone else had walked in and they requested the service of the lady who was working on my nails. Where do I start. One day when I was driving to work I stopped here for a quick eyebrow wax. (It sucked) whatever. Anyway. The lady there looked at my eyelashes and said! How much do you pay? I told her I pay $150.00 and she replied "I CAN DO THE SAME JOB FOR $70.00. So I made an appointment with her that following week. When that week came I went to do my "eyelashes" pedi & medi. The lady who did my pedi made my toe bleed* My nails looked uneven. So then came my eyelashes... SHE FORCED MY EYE OPEN AND PUT THE LASHES ON! I complained a lot (mind you, my eyes are sensitive) & she just blamed it on that. When she was done! I was NOT SATISFIED! It looked nothing like what I expected SHE GLUES THE EYELASHES TO YOUR LASHES AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE EYELINER ON! "That's how much glue she uses!!! I naturally have long eyelash but this place ruined them!! After days passed maybe (3) my eyes were ITCHY! So bad the eyelashes came off! I would go back and she would just glue more and more and more! It was ridiculous One night I was laying down getting ready for bed and my eye started to itch SO BAD! Everything they use is dirt cheap! From the equipment to polish selection...even their spa chairs felt like I was going to fall right through it and I'm not a big girl lol. I only went here for convenience since the playground is right out the door. I should of walked right out after looking at their polishes. But whatever I still managed to give them a try.
