Sadly was disappointed. Good Mexican food is hard to find in Utah and La Hacienda just didn't really deliver. The location is good, right off the freeway. It is larger than expected inside with lots of seating. The service was great! We had the nicest lady. The other good thing was the chips and salsa. I could have/should have just had that was my meal. I got a chicken burrito and it just lacked flavor. I wasn't a fan of the sauce put on top (which of course is extra). In house experience, they need to clean a bit better including always having clean silverware and tossing out the wood chip bowls that are chipped up / broken. Who would of thought I'd find the greatest Mexican food of my life in Draper, Ut. This is my first trip to Utah in 25 years and I am not used to seeing so many businesses closed on Sundays. It made it a bit hard to find places to eat. While driving back from visiting family in Provo we came across La Hacienda. With the pictures alone we had to stop. I have no words for how amazing it smelled the second we walked up to the door. This was a busy spot and from the talk around me it sounded like a lot were locals. Even though it was busy we didn't have to wait to be seated. The chips and salsa were fresh and I loved the kick that the salsa had. The menu was vast and I had a hard time making a decision, but thanks to yelp I chose the Chile verde enchiladas and oh my! Dinner came out quick, hot, perfect amounts of cheese and huge chunks of meat. The sauce was spicy but not over the top. It was the best enchiladas I've ever had. Service was awesome and never had to ask for anything. My dad ordered Chile Colorado Bowl and ate every nite. My sis said her tacos were great and the shells had a great crunch. In my opinion it's not the worst Mexican, but it's not the best either. If you're looking for a reasonably priced meal, free chips and salsa, and fast service then I'd recommend La Hacienda. What I will say is they do have really good chili verde, their shredded beef is flavorful, and the refried beans are good but what I dont like is that they put chunks of potato in their chicken almost like a filler. read more

We were looking for somewhere quick to eat after visiting the aquarium with my three nephews who were all starving and about to get cranky. We found La Hacienda on Yelp and decided to give them a shot and we loved it. Everyone loved their dishes, the food was very fast even during a busy lunch hour. I had the Shrimp Camerones Rancheros and it was absolutely delicious! Didn't need to add any salsa or anything to it, it was perfect. I loved it so much that after telling my wife about it (who wasn't with us on this trip) she wanted to come so a few days later we visited again on Father's Day and we both had the same dish. Delish! We were in the area on a Saturday afternoon after a trip to the aquarium. In the mood for something new, I browsed Yelp for some suggestions nearby. I landed on La Hacienda based solely on the amazing looking photos posted by fellow Yelpers. We arrived right around 5:30PM and the place was packed. The host advised us of a 45 minute wait time. We reluctantly ended up waiting just a little over an hour before the notification text arrived. We were shown promptly to our table which was a high-top right next to the bar. Famished and a little hangry at this point, the chips and salsa were a very welcome site and I think they tasted extra good under the circumstances. The menu included offerings that can be expected for a Mexican restaurant. My date decided on chicken chimichangas smothered in enchilada sauce. I ordered a combo with a hard shell chicken taco and a chicken and pork burrito. I'm not a fan of pork at all and I would have preferred shredded beef. Our server, Felipe, explained that flexibility is not offered as the sauce is prepared specifically for the burrito with the pork chunks in it. Hind sight, I should have just ordered something else because the burrito was not good and the overall flavor was rather bland. I did enjoy the taco and my date was kind enough to share some of her delicious chimichanga. What is Mexican food without Mexican beer? It is a must in my opinion.I ordered my Corona in a bottle and my date went with a draft. The draft came out in a huge 24 oz plastic mug and it was flat as can be. I definitely recommend sticking with the bottle it is cold, fresh, and will save you $2.71. With two entrees and two beers, our bill came $39.01 after tax and before tip. Felipe earned a fair tip. He was very attentive and hospitable despite the building being at max capacity for the duration of our visit. Overlooking my poor ordering decisions, the main reason for my three star review is cleanliness. We noticed as soon as we sat down that there were layers of dust caked on every light fixture. There is a giant chandelier over the bar and the dust bunnies are just dangling off of it. I don't even want to think of how many drinks ended up with an unexpected dust garnish. I will spare you the details of my restroom encounter. After reading some of the reviews and the health inspector incidents, I can say that I will certainly think twice before coming back. First is took way too long to get water for the table. We already started in on chips and salsa which were good but definitely requires a little water to tame the mild salsa. Next our food arrived but the carne Asada was over cooked and super dry. It's difficult to ruin carne asada but they did it. Next we asked for a side of avocado with our lunch platter which was served as we were finishing our food. Everything felt off ..not sure if would dare to come here again. Bring born and raised in California with hispanic friends my standard for Mexican food is maybe a little different than some. I've had multiple people on the area say La Hacienda is the best Mexican food. I've been here a few times now and it's good. Truthfully I don't think it's great, but it's certainly not bad. It's decently good Mexican food. The staff is friendly and prompt. The service is quick and attentive. Every time I've been there have been large groups and I never felt neglected. They were very good at keeping the drinks and chips and salsa full. The chips and salsa are addicting. The chips are nicely fried and are salted well. The salsa has a little spice, but still mild enough for people that don't like spicy. The texture and flavor of the salsa is nice as well. I love getting deep fried whole Talapia at Mexican places, especially if I've never been before. It's something that's fairly hard to mess up. Their Talapia I enjoyed more than other places I've tried. My friends loved their tacos. I've tried various other things here and liked it. There just hasn't been anything I loved and would suggest to everyone. Their portions are very generous though. It's easy to share bites with your group and still have plenty for yourself. I think this is a great place for groups or people who aren't really adventurous eaters. There's no doubt you'll have a good meal and experience. For me I just wasn't very impressed. Tonight I ordered curbside. I was told it would take 20 mins. Told them to add on a $5 tip. I got there right at the 20 min mark, and waited another 20 mins. I called and then went inside. No one could find my food or even my order. I had to show that my credit card had been charged, then waited another 20 mins. Got one apology after they looked at my charge. Nothing else after when they finally got me my food. My prior visit we had used a $100 gift card. Our bill game to $50. I mistakenly left the card on the table with the check.
