Had been wanting to try this place for awhile now. So Saturday after attending a reptile convention we decided to stop in for some lunch. There was a minimal wait of 25 minutes but after that we were seated and greeted with chips and salsa. The chips were salty and crispy as they should be the salsa was okay not the best I have had but not the worst either. I tend to like my salsa spicy with bursts of cilantro. This fell a bit flat for me. We placed our orders. Both ordered combo plates and half dozen oysters. The wait to get our food seemed a bit long and we burned through a bowl of chips and the salsa and eventually flagged down the waitress for more chips. The oysters never arrived. The combos themselves were filling and flavorful. Decent chili verde over my tamale. My chimi was full of white meat chicken and the outer shell was crispy like I like a chimi to be. I had asked for red sauce and as you can see it didn't arrive with red but I am not picky enough to send it back. It tasted good and that's what matters. I am just a sucker for a good red sauce. I also did not want sour cream and asked for a side of guac. The waitress let me know it came with a side of both and I asked for no sour cream and it arrived with it. Again...no worries I just flicked it to the side and ate on. I would def come back here now with the expectation of really needing to be on my server to deliver what we want. We were not charged for the Oysters which leads me to believe she simply just didn't put our order in for them and lacked a bit of attention to detail in regards to my request for no sour cream. We enjoyed the food, atmosphere, I loved the company of my lunch date and I still tipped the server well. I'm forever in the search for great Mexican Food. After living in Tucson for 14 years it's hard to measure up but La Hacienda is one of my new favorites. We went in about 4pm. We're not quite that old that we eat dinner at 4 but my husband had to leave for work so we do what we can when we can. It's beautiful and big inside. Modern with views of the kitchen and delicious aromas wafting throughout the dining area. My husband had the servers recommended Chile Con Carne smothered Burrito. I'm boring and had Flautas. I have to have only white chicken in my food and all of their dishes are made that way. The server was a delight. She told us that she had been a customer. They loved her so much they asked her to work there. She said it's hard because being around all that delicious food it's easy to gain weight She walks enough and works hard enough she won't have to worry. Well it took a while to get sat at my table for one. But not too terribly long. Being a hostess back in the day I can be some what critical. I could of sat at the bar but I planned to work on some tax material. My server made up for any criticism I might have for waiting a bit. Cynthia was on it like blue bonnet. As soon as I hit the bench she had the complimentary chips and salsa and soon after a Diet Coke. My cheese enchiladas came out like 10 min after I ordered it piping hot, just like I love it. I asked for more lettuce and tomatoes. She waisted no time getting that either. I loved my enchiladas. They are the best I have tasted in a long time. My husband and I have been coming here for about 7 years. We used to frequent when we lived in Lehi and still go about once every other month even though it's about a 35 min drive. This is one of our top 5 favorite restaurants and hands down our favorite Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa are always made fresh which means it doesn't always taste exactly the same. Sometimes it's extra spicy and sometimes a little spicy. But always delicious and one of our favorite things about this place! Even our 3 and 5 year olds love it and will eat a good bit of it. We always go through a few bowls of it. Our favorite dish and what we order 90% of the time is the chicken fajitas. They are sooo good! I've had fajitas at a handful of other places and these blow them all out of the water. We've gotten the enchiladas which unfortunately the chicken ones have potato which I can't eat so I just order the shredded beef with chile verde sauce and man they are good. We always get our kids the kids meal chicken enchiladas (which don't have potato) with rice and beans and they always clear their plates. We rarely wait more than 10 min to be seated (avoid weekend nights) and the food always comes out FAST. We're typically in and out within about 45 min. Servers are always nice. I'm sure this will always be a frequent restaurant for us! read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and we were seated immediately and chips/salsa came out right away (great salsa). The rest of our orders were speedy as well and the staff was friendly. Many great options on the menu, but I had an asada burrito smothered with chili verde and cheese, which was bomb. While enjoying chips and conversation, our drinks arrived. The waiter fumbled a full glass of Horchata and dumped it down my wife's back and my side. This put us on stage with the entire restaurant while the waiter scrambled and apologized in embarrassment. We were gracious and understand that accidents happen. My wife's sweater was sticky and soaked throughout the meal and she was freezing cold. When we received the bill all we could do is chuckle when we found that not only were there no discounts applied for the mishap, but we were charged for the Horchatas. The SLC location of La Hacienda (on Redwood Rd) is our favorite Mexican food in Utah, so we had a high bar for this location. Hard to gauge accurately since we got takeout this time but we loved it and are so glad we tried it out. I got the chicken fajitas and even though we missed the restaurant experience it was fun recreating it at home and they included all the goodies (guac, tortilla, sour cream, lettuce). I had a friend pick up dinner for us at La Hacienda and I called in the order and it took the guy like four tries to even get the order remotely right. Then when my friend picked up the order and brought it home, the smothered burrito wasn't a smothered burrito. It didn't have anything on it. The taco salad had more lettuce than it had anything and it just wasn't good and the food was cold, so I will not be going back to La Hacienda ever ever again. I called to let them know what happened and he said it was his bad, yes it was and I didn't even get a coupon for a free meal. Our friends the Finlayson's told us about this Great mexican restaurant so we had to try it ourselves. They were right this place is excellent. Our waitress gave us quick and and friendly service all the way through the meal. The food was creative and delicious with a few dishes I did not recognize. The chile verde french fries appetizer can feed four and was delicious with lots of pork. The chile relleno was excellent and the rice and refried beans were very good as well. Starting out with the chips and salsa which I could've just sat there ate that only, with the fresh guacamole also! My dinner was amazing the combination plate of chicken chimichanga and chili rellenó. Wow to die for!!! This use to be my favorite Mexican Restaurant, I only go where the chips and salsa are delicious. About 6 months ago I was so excited to eat there, BIG change.. their salsa tasted like tomato sauce, no trace of chunks of onion, tomato etc. I ordered my favorite "chicken enchilada", they started adding potato cubes to it to make the chicken go farther. I thought I would try again on December 9th... the salsa had a few onion bits.. and tasted like they put habanero in the tomato sauce to spice it up. They use to have the BEST Salsa....I always paid for extra chips... but like most places they have watered down their salsa and food! read more

We ate at La Hacienda in Draper, UT. As far as Mexican food went, it was pretty good. Once sat, we were brought a small bowl of chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious, nice chunks of onion, tomato and peppers. The tortilla chips were good too. Cooked perfectly and the right amount of salt. We tried ordering a queso dip for an appetizer, but unfortunately, they do not make a queso dip. My wife was sorely disappointed. For entrees, she had the chicken fajitas sans onions with a side of shredded cheese as the fajitas didn't seem ti come with cheese. The chicken was flavorful, but cooked have been browned a bit more. The cooked tomatoes had been diced, but along with the peppers was flavorful. It also came with two rather large flour tortilla, which made for nice sized fajitas. She proclaimed "not the best fajitas I've had, but certainly not the worst." High praise indeed. It also came with rice, which was good, and refried beans which were bland. I had the Chile Verde Pork enchiladas with rice and beans. I love love love green chiles, and this part of the country does them like no other. (Hatch green chiles anyone?) The enchiladas were delicious, primarily due to the chile verde sauce. The pork chunks were good, but only seemed to be located in one half of the enchiladas. That was fine as it was plenty of food. The server was fine, not good not bad, no complaints. Overall a good meal. Bonus: they used a yellow shredded cheddar cheese instead of a Mexican cheese. And funny enough, my wife's refried beans had the melted cheese on them and mine didn't. read more

Last Saturday...we were out furniture shopping @ RC Willey, and on a whim, my wife and I decided to grab dinner out...and her suggestion of la Hacienda was perfect! When we arrived, I honestly expected a crowd as there had always been throngs of folks waiting in the lobby and even outside...even on cold winter nights. But not that night...as we waited for maybe about five minutes before we were seated. It was apparent that the menu had changed since we were last there, and that was a good thing as the menu offerings were expansive and everything sounded great. So, my wife had an order of two shredded beef tacos and side cheese enchilada...and I ordered my go-to Pork Carnitas plate with double beans and no rice (super soft flour tortillas on the side...yummy) ...and it was all fantastic! I accompanied the meal with a de-lish margarita (rocks-n-salt, natch) and then later a 23 oz. Pacifico draught...and the better had her de rigueur Bud Lite. Just great tasting food and healthy portion size along with some wonderfully cilantro-spiked salsa with a nice kick of hotness made a great appetizer. The service was excellent as Cinthia (with an "i") did a nice job checking back with us and making sure we were squared away. This is a great restaurant and is highly recommended for all! The fajitas were bland and overcooked. Even the tortillas that came with them were tough and crispy, rather than soft and wrappable. I've eaten here a couple times but I haven't found something I really like. Others have given positive reviews so I thought I'd try it again. I came with a large group for lunch and the staff did well keeping up with our drinks and food. They were friendly and the food came out relatively quick for such a big group. I got the shrimp salad and it was not very good. The shredded lettuce was a bit unruly to eat and the shrimp did not have much flavor. The avocado didn't seem to add much as I had hoped. It look very pretty, but didn't really deliver on the flavor side. The dressing was bland and didn't have that Bleu Cheese punch I would expect. Great food for the price. Typical Americanized Mexican food so not completely authentic but for the price and variety this place is worth a visit. Love their salsa! It has a little hint of sweet to it that makes it very addictive. Have eaten here 20+ times since it opened and have never had a bad experience. Food and service are great. Everything you'd expect from a Tex-Mex place with a couple authentic surprises. The food is consistently prepared and flavorful. The wait staff is delightful and very attentive. The staff at the host stand feel cold and uninviting which is an unfortunate first impression of an otherwise great restaurant.
