Burrata mozzarella - served with bread. So good
Grace C.

Best meal so far this trip! We showed up on a Saturday night just after their 7pm opening time and didn't have to wait but sat at the bar. I don't even like octopus usually but the octopus was sooooo tender and creamy (not rubbery! The secret - sous vide at 82 degrees). Burrata mozzarella on bread with sun dried tomatoes and arugula was perfection. Enormous, tender pork rib. Soft cooked egg with potatoes and spicy chorizo (ate it before we could get a pic, oops). The Manchego cheese mousse for dessert was complex and perfectly composed. Such a great meal. 5 stars! I must disagree with the previous reviewer who rated this restaurant 3 stars. I'm usually the first person to complain that a dish is too salty & I didn't find that to be the case here. Everything was very flavorful and well salted but nothing was too salty at all!

OH MY GOD I WILL DREAM ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT. We ordered wine, ribs, steak, octopus. I loved every single one of these dishes. My friends got the grilled veggies and patatas but I can't speak to it because I didn't try it. I love the service, I love the ambiance. Hands down a must try in Barcelona. So affordable but SUCH GREAT QUALITY.

Bravas & seared ahi tuna

A small tapas restaurant with good food and wine. This place was recommended by a local sommelier so we had to make a stop. If you have a party of 4 or more I highly recommend coming early because seating it limited for large parties. Service is excellent! Our waiter Brian explained everything on the menu well and gave us some excellent recommendations on the wine. The food... Bravas- potatoes were perfectly fried. Topped with cream cheese, tomato and habanero sauce (this gave the dish an extra kick we were looking for) Australian angus beef- recommended to get it medium rare. It was done so well the meat almost melted in my mouth. Scallops- scallops combined with the pea reduced sauce and topped with jamon meat...oh my! Basically I highly recommend this as a place as a must try when you are in Barcelona.

“The papas bravas were good too although not spicy; we asked for medium spice, I guess the Spanish standard for spicy is different than that in Texas.”

My first day in Barcelona and I googled great place to eat and stumbled on this absolute gem! Service was great! They speak English BTW The staff were friendly and very helpful! The food was some of the most amazing, fresh, delicious bites I've had. I ordered from the Tapas menu so I could get a taste of more flavors. The portions were much bigger than I imagined tapas being. These were my first! They created a great desire for more! It was hard deciding what to try. They had duck risotto on the daily special menu and I wanted it, but it was a full meal and I would only get to taste that. I will definitely be going back during my two week stay here in Barcelona! Hopefully I will get to try the duck risotto! Highly recommend!!

Most places here in Barcelona prefer reservations but as we walked around town we couldn't pick a time. We settled upon an early arrival and lucky for us they had a table inside. Not very many patrons at 6:30 PM so we were immediately seated, table for two. Of course a Sangria for me and a beer for my travel buddy! Cheers. The beer had a lemon citrusy flavor and my Sangria was flavorful, both were very good. We ordered Hummus and Calamari, excellent choices, plenty to share and both were delicious. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. Remember service is slower than in the U.S. and our waitperson was the only one handling both inside and outside (only 3 or 4 tables outside).

Ziryab seemed to fit the bill, so we made plans to stop here during our first night in the city. Ziryab is located close to the Gothic Quarter, on side street. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace. Overall, I'm glad I tried out Ziryab - the tapas were delicious and atypical of ones you find elsewhere in Barcelona. I would have no qualms returning here for another meal.
