The Vibe: Located in a strip mall with shared parking, the restaurant itself is actually quite cute inside, with tablecloths on each table and a full-service bar near the entrance. That said, when we first walked in, there was an unpleasant, slightly mildew-like odor, which made us question the overall cleanliness. The restaurant was about ¼ full, which felt like a decent sign for a weekday evening. Service: Service was excellent from start to finish. We were seated quickly, given chips and salsa right away, and our server was attentive and efficient throughout the meal. What We Ordered: * Enchiladas Combination (cheese, beef, and chicken with red sauce, you can choose red or green) * Puntas de Filete in Salsa Verde * Sprite & Coke First Impressions: The food came out extremely fast--under 5 minutes, which made it feel more reheated than freshly prepared. Food Quality: Unfortunately, the food lacked flavor across the board. The chips and salsa were underwhelming--the salsa was very watery with little to no spice. The enchiladas were quite dry, lacking sauce, and topped with an overwhelming amount of cheese. My husband ordered the Puntas de Filete in Salsa Verde, hoping for something similar to chile verde, but it didn't come close. The dish lacked depth of flavor and mostly tasted like beef and raw onions. He also requested medium rare, but it came out closer to well-done. Even the refried beans had an unusual, overly garlicky taste that felt a bit off. Overall: While the service was great, the food unfortunately didn't meet expectations--especially for a place positioning itself as western-style Mexican. Average food, standout service. I ordered 3 tacos (carnitas, barbacoa, and al pastor) and a chicken tortilla soup to go. I was only inside for a moment, but the inside looked clean, and the person who helped me was very nice. They were out of carnitas, so he told me they gave me 2 barbacoa instead. The chicken soup was VERY good! The tortillas must be homemade. And the portion was huge! (I can't wait to finish it for lunch tomorrow.) The barbacoa tacos were a little bit dry, but still tasty. They gave me a mild and a spicy salsa and a bag full of fresh onions, cilantro, and limes, so I loaded them up with goodies! The al pastor was my favorite! It was very good!

The tortilla was the perfect thickness to not fall apart. Which is perfect since they pack it full of protein. The toppings bar is perfection as well. Loved all the salsas. Of course plenty of cilantro and onions and radishes to add as well. My boys had cheese quesadillas and the cheese pull was incredible. The only negative is my one son doesn't eat meat and he wanted a burrito with rice and beans and no meat. They wouldn't substitute the beans for meat. So he was disappointed but the he enjoyed the quesadilla. Cute little place. Tres Amigos salsa has a variety few different flavors that go well with their tacos available at their restaurant. The flavors for the salsas are, Original, Hot, Smoky, Verde, and their Kicked up Queso. What's interesting about their Queso is that they add their original salsa to their queso to apply that flavor to the cheese! These flavors were great, and the Kicked up Queso stood out majorly! For the dinner, there are four taco options; steak, chicken, shrimp, and veggies. You have the option to have your tacos on a corn or flour tortilla, and is paired with black beans and rice. You are also able to order these tacos individually, or in a family pack of four. I ordered a steak taco, and they cooked the proteins on the grill and gives the protein a nice char! They also grill the tortillas to give them some color as well! The tacos are a Tex-mex style, and you're given guacamole that has a tiny kick of spice, and some greens to top. This is good stop for a late lunch, and since it's a small place, it's best for takeout only. We ordered tacos and a burrito, 2 margs, and a tres leche (my favorite) I have a very specific taco that I often order that was not on the menu but they allowed me to customize one that was to get it and it was delicious. No issues whatsoever. I do want to note that that evening I was a bit sick - but before you take that and run with it you need context. I have a stomach condition which can sometime act up even when I am being cautious (hence the specific taco order) For the record my husband was fine and had no issues and he ate one of my three tacos so I truly believe this was just bad luck for me and my own very specific ailments.
