Food:The best birria tacos I've ever had! The flavor is amazing, and they come with the broth to dip the tacos, so delicious! The meat is always fresh and has an authentic taste. I visit this place often, and the tacos are consistently great! Also, for dessert, I always order the strawberries with cream, and wow, they're delicious! I highly recommend them as a dessert. I definitely recommend visiting this place. Service: Good service, and the food doesn't take long to arrive. Ambience: There's always somewhere to sit, great Latin music playing, and the restrooms are always clean. The only downside is that there's smoke inside, and your clothes end up smelling like food because of it.

I had the pleasure today to go and have the best Birria Tacos (with cheese) in town! They are delicious...tortillas are pure corn, fresh, very flavorful...beef is phenomenal...it comes with the stock where the beef is cooked so you can dip the taco before every bite. Service is great...the staff is friendly. The ambiance is relaxed with a mexican vibe that makes you feel like you are in a taco place in Mexico. I really recommend this place! Prices are very good too. You can also try their desserts! They are awesome!!!

So happy to see Fruta Mix up and running again after being impacted by Hurricane Milton. The fruits with salt, tajin and chamoy are my favorite -- always really fresh and tasty! The staff is also amazing even when balancing a lot of orders. A great business to support if you're in the area.

My husband and I made the 30-minute drive to Fruta Mix and it was completely worth it. We had tried their tortas once at a family gathering and honestly haven't stopped thinking about them since. This time we ordered the quesabirria tacos and they were incredible...crispy, cheesy, and fresh. We also got the elote which was loaded with sauce and full of flavor. No pics because we ate it way too fast. I had the Nutella fruit cup with their homemade Nutella ice cream and fresh strawberries and I'm still thinking about it. Every bite was so good I didn't want it to end. My husband got the cholado and it was packed with fresh fruit and tasted like dessert and a smoothie all in one. Everything was fresh, packaged with care, and still warm when we got home. I know their Ocoee location closed and they haven't shared where they're reopening yet, but I'm really hoping it's somewhere in Altamonte. Even if it's not, we'll still be making the trip. The food's just that good.

Frutamix is a great lil hidden gem in Orlando that offers Mexican food. I came here after a pickleball session at Veteran Memorial Park in Winter Garden with my best friend and a few other friends. I originally thought we were heading to get smoothies (the name threw me off) but was pleasantly surprised when we were getting tacos instead. I went with my friends' recommendations and got the birria tacos and the mango agua. For th birria tacos, if you want the consome to come with it, you have to get three tacos. We learned this the hard way because we only got two tacos and had to purchase the consome separately. The food was great and service was awesome. I recommend getting one of the aguas and you can try them before getting them!

This place is great. We got there just a little bit after it opened and it was already packed. We got tortas, nachos, corn, fruit ceviche, and paletas. All were super yummy. The only thing is that the nachos only had a little bit of chips and they charged for extra. Besides that, everything was fresh, flavorful, and just great. It's a hole in the wall, nothing fancy at all but that adds to the charm.

    Small Cholado

This place is a gem. Drink/food: we ordered a small Cholado. It came with a variety o fruits along with some cream and sweetened condensed milk. The combination was great but the highlight was the freshness of the fruit. It was $7.50 for the small one, which is quite expensive for what it is, in the opinion of someone who doesn't mind picking fresh fruit at the supermarket, chopping them at home, and adding condensed milk or cream, which is obviously my case but maybe not the case for their regular customers. However, I must say that if you do want a variety of fruit these days, you will likely be paying almost $8 for that combination. I also asked to sample their ice cream, which looked really good but taste-wise was too sweet/lacking flavor. Ambiance: the place is clean and fairly organized. Service: the staff was very polite and offered suggestions based on what we were looking for.

Chicken & steak tostada & cholado

You'll want to be in the know, therefore this review is a must read! My friend and I walked on a fairly busy Sunday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. She was super excited to see cholado on the menu as it reminded her of home, Colombia. We both ordered tostadas (1 chicken, 1 steak), which we each enjoyed. She also ordered the cholado of course which was refreshing, but fell short because of the ratio of ice to fruits & cream. And she ordered the elote, which was kind of a waste because neither of us enjoyed it. There was not enough cheese, cilantro was neglected, and there was a pool of water at the bottom of the bowl. The true star of the show was the birria quesotaco, the best I've ever had! The meat was tender and juicy, the amount of cilantro & onion was perfect, and the consome was delicious. Come here for birria and homemade popsicles! Overall we had a great experience, good service, and good food. The environment was very laid back and inviting, so with that said... we'll see you soon FrutaMix

The curb appeal of this place does not match the inside vibe. Such a cool spot for a fresh treat. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to find this colorful, funky atmosphere. They offer fresh made popsicles, ice cream, açaí bowls, smoothies and tacos. All except the popsicles, are made fresh to order. There are a ton of options. We had the blueberry popsicle and a tropical açaí bowl with coconut and Nutella. Both were absolutely delicious. The lady at the counter was very kind and helped us decide on what to order. Most of the popsicles are labeled in Spanish so she assisted us with understanding the flavors before ordering. We're a short 7 min drive from here so we'll definitely add this to our regular treat spot. 4 out of 5 because it was a little pricey ($20 for our two items) and it was a little foggy/Smokey from the tacos being cooked but would not prevent us from coming back!

I thought this was just a fruit place, but that's just half of it. The tacos are a little bland, but good once dressed up. I stick to the queso tacos because I need cheese on my tacos. The nachos are pretty good and a large feeds 2-3. I finally tried a mangonada. I thought $6 for a small smoothie was pricey but the fresh fruit and taste is unmatched! Presentation is amazing as well. It's always packed and a wait, so order ahead. The parking is limited as well.

I was craving some authentic tacos and decided to DoorDash from Frutamix. I always pass by Frutamix and never have yet to stop by. Menu consisted of a lot of dessert items and some food items. Desserts do look good. I ordered 3 birra tacos with a side of consome for dipping. Tacos are fully packed with meats. Side items includes a spicy sauce (adds a nice kick to the tacos) and mixture of cilantro and onions. I wish there were more cilantros. Nicely package and it was still a bit warm. Great flavor especially when dipping in the consome. I don't think I can eat tacos any other way. Check this place out! I would defiantly order from Frutamix again.

Delicious torta, drinks, paletas. Can't wait to come back. Staff was very helpful in regards to recommendations and navigating the variety of desserts they have available.

This quaint spot was exactly what I needed. My friend told me about Fruitamix and I knew I had to check it out. I ordered a mango watermelon chamoyada which was so fresh, icy, and seasoned well. The tamarind straw was the perfect addition to this drink. I also ordered a large gaspacho to go. There were tons of fruit to pick from. Because it was my first time here I had to ask what fruits they carried. Not sure on the logistics of their set up but it would be cool if guest could see the fruit just to avoid repetition for the staff. Overall I loved the selection and prices here. I'm looking forward to trying new things upon my return!

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

This year I told my honey the only way I would go out was if we found a place that excepted reservations. In return, I accepted that it was most likely not going to be an extraordinary, authentic, or a gem of a place. My first experience at Solita turned out to be what I manifested. Upon entering the restaurant, vibes were in full effect. No mariachi band as I would have hoped, but the but the energy in the room was happy and festive. They had a DJ providing music, but it was so loud that when our waitress read us their specials, I literally told her I could not hear her. She did greet us with salsas, chips, and these little wheels I read a lot about. They had a similar texture to a chicharron and were simply delightful! Probably my favorite component I sampled all night. Since I had never been to Solita, I checked out Yelp to do my research. One thing I was excited to try was their "Duckie Frozé". It had Rosé, fruit purée, frozen margarita with your choice of flavor: watermelon, pomegranate, or guava. Adorning the top of the drink was a darling little rubber duckie. There are TONS of pictures of this drink on Yelp. Much to my surprise, my drink arrived with NO DUCK. When I asked the waitress about it, she shrugged it off said they "don't do that anymore". It may sound like a small thing to be disappointed about, but really that was just the start. Luckily, Cinco was on Tuesday this year, so we were able to order from the "Taco & Tequila Tuesday" discounted menu. We started off with the Grilled Corn Elote which is served tableside. I thought this would be cool, but it wasn't. It was a bit painful watching the waitress struggle to shave the corn off. I almost wanted to offer help! After all that, the corn was just ok. I personally think the Elote I make at home is better. Thankfully this was on the Tuesday Menu also making it only $5. While perusing their selections prior to going, I felt that their taco prices were a bit steep. They have two types of taco sizes. The Street Tacos looked itty bitty with next to nothing on them. They do have a lot of flavor choices (11), and you get 3-4 tacos for about $20. Glad I saw photos of these on Yelp beforehand. Then they have Tacos Locos. They are described as "One large taco" when in fact they are just regular sized tacos overflowing in toppings. Just ONE Tacos Locos costs about $15! I think the pricing is loco, and based off what we'd tried so far, I was certain to only order from the Tuesday menu. We were able to get a Shrimp Chicharron for $6 and a Vampiro (Chicken or Carnitas) for $8. The shrimp one was appetizing. I even remember thinking after the first few bites that I should have just gotten two of those. Then I tried a piece of chicken from my Vampiro. It was a piece of straight fat that I immediately spit out. That pretty much killed it for me, and I didn't even eat anymore of the Vampiro or anything else for that matter. The positives of the evening included: -Getting into a spot to celebrate on Cinco De Mayo -The food came out quicker than expected based on the reviews -Trying a new restaurant and learning that it's nowhere I will be returning to or recommending. Knowledge is power.

I believe they have several locations in the area, and this is a newer one with very welcoming and modern interiors. They have wonderful daily specials and various happy hour periods that extend from 2 to 10 PM, including $3 tacos from 8 until 10 PM. Meals start off with complimentary chips and salsa (4.5/5), which are happily refilled upon request. We tried a variety of tacos (5/5) which were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The vegetarian San Jose's fajita bowl (4.5/5) was tasty and served in a generous portion that is ideal for sharing. The cheese quesadilla (5/5) hit all the fresh flavor notes without the cheese being too sharp in taste. The churros (5/5) were the perfect dessert, having a slightly crunchy exterior and softer core as you bit into it. We loved the food and atmosphere so much that we visited twice the same week while visiting the Orlando area.
