Came to East End Market to eat and ended up stopping to grab some cookies. I always heard of this bakehouse but never got the chance to try it. Ordered the chocolate chip, ore and banana bread chocolate cookies! All big thick size cookies! Freshly baked and good!
I somehow must be living under a rock because apparently this brand of cookies is super popular and I now get the hype. I was told that if you go to the location in Disney Springs that there's always a super long line but thankfully at this location, there was no line at all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The set up is very cute in East End market and it's super yummy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the banana bread chocolate chip and a limited edition one. All so great, but I especially loved the banana bread one. The cookies are huge and so delicious. Will definitely get more if I'm back in town.

We came to Easton market for other things, but had to stop at Gideon's for a cookie. We did not eat it on the spot, but ended up bringing it home and heating it up. The cookie was delicious - soft & chocolatey. The staff was quick to get our order at the establishment and there was a line behind us indicating it was a popular choice. Looking forward to trying more options and potentially their cake next time.
If you're looking for a rich indulgent cookie, head to Gideon's but be warned the lines can be super long. When I came to Disney Springs two years ago, I skipped Gideon's as the line was wrapped around a couple corners. This year, I was able to finally try them as the line was only to the end of the block. The line moves quickly which was nice but it ended up being about 20 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is very interesting and slightly creepy - it's giving Tim Burton.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Things to know: 1) at the end of the line, there's a staff member with the menu that you can keep, 2) they limited it to 8 cookies per person, 3) there's a morning and an evening special cookie that runs out and is not remade, 4) there's also cakes and coffee drinks, and 5) there's trading cards if you order a 6 pack. The cookies are about 1.5 inches thick and are soft and chewy. I would say they are on par with levain in nyc and would definitely stop by if the line was less than 30 minutes.

Instead we went to the East End Market location which was a much better experience in my opinion. We got there around opening on a Thursday morning. There were a few people ahead of us but it only took about five minutes to get through the line. Much more manageable and way less stressful. We ordered four cookies. Two were limited edition which were the cookies and cream and the coffee cake. We also got the original chocolate chip and the pistachio toffee. Everything came out to about $28-30 with tip. Overall I think it is a great cookie. They are certainly dense in a sense but don't taste too indulgent. I do not know if it fully lives up to the hype which is where they lose a star. Still a fun experience and I wish them all the best. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would like to know that there isn't any seating at this location. However, there are a lot of benches that exists right outside the market.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
This place has been on my list for AGES!!! we were finally close to Orlando after coming back from our cruise so we stopped by. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is the cutest little place and it's definitely giving Harry Potter vibes. I loved all of the decorations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got there when they opened and we're greeted promptly. We tried four different cookies and all of them were AMAZING.
I feel like this was probably the best cookie I ever had. I'm a huge cookie lover and when I heard about this place, I had to try it out! There was a line out the door on a Sunday afternoon but it moved quickly and I was too excited to really notice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself has such a Cool vibe. Old books and decor. Reminded me of like St. Augustine or New Orleans vibes. Loved it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The employee was kind and knowledgeable on the products. I felt like the prices were fair and the taste was delicious and honestly hard to beat! I will absolutely be back!
Hands down best cookies in town, but they need to keep their game up as SummerHouse has a few good ones too. I'm normally instantly greeted and they answer all my questions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It always smells so good that it's hard to make a decision.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I try to go for the limited edition flavors. Remember that it's only 2 per person when it comes to those. Keep up the good creativity and delicious treats. Don't forget to check out their candles. They smell just as great as the seasonal flavors.
I've had Gideon's many a time over the years- as gifts. Finally. It was my turn. On the rainy day I happened to be in Disney Springs, I saw the line- for the first time- a reasonable length. After our *unusually* fast wait, I finally entered the world of Gideon. They have a good variety, but traditional of a bake house, they change. Alas, my trip to Gideon's was long awaited and very enjoyed.
This is Orlando's gothic cookie company with the hugest cult following, though I'm not sure if non-Disney and non-Orlando people know much about them. This location is housed inside some small food hall type of building, and I was a bit surprised to see no one in line. Now I will say that I was pretty underwhelmed by these cookies, but as you can see, I had to wait a couple of days to eat the original chocolate chip, so I'm willing to give them another try. Another blunder was that the employee got my order wrong, even though she repeated the flavors I wanted properly. So, she ended up inserting a flavor that I did not want or like at all. If I'm buying expensive cookies, I feel like you should at least get my flavors right. The cookies didn't taste very buttery to me. They almost tasted like a mouthful of hardened dough and sugar. I surprisingly enjoyed the peanut butter crunch the most, though I wonder if it's because I ate that one very soon after receiving it (though none of them were warm). I had to wait an extra half day before eating the other ones, since I bought them right before my flight back home. I don't think half a day should have that much effect on the degradation of a cookie. I do appreciate how cool they look in the box, and how carefully wrapped and designed they are. You also get some Tim Burton art style trading cards with your purchase! They were neat souvenirs, so I'll hopefully have a better experience next time.
Craving a good cookie? There is no other place to get your cookie fix. I've been visiting here for years and love trying all the new flavors for the different holidays. This shop is located inside the East End Market, and while at times the parking can get pretty crazy, persevere because it's worth it. There is a line that starts at the front counter and goes around the corner and out the side door to the building if need be. Just know that certain cookies do sell out. Over the Halloween season I really enjoyed the Frankenstein cookie and Bride of Frankenstein. The Frankenstein cookie was like double chocolate and the Bride of Frankenstein is the blonde version. You also can never go wrong with the OG chocolate chip cookie. These cookies are huge and worth the cost. Something good to nibble on over the course of a couple days. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also appreciate the aesthetic. The library feel plus the merch being sold like yummy smelling candles.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Time after time Gideon's Bakehouse keeps making amazing cookies!!! I love this original Gideon's location located inside East End Market. The cookies are HUGE and loaded with chocolate chips. They always have a limited edition cookie on the menu and I always love to see what it is. This week it is Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl and I cannot wait to see how it tastes. The cookies are large and make for the perfect treat to spread out over a day or two!! Don't skip out on these sweet treats!
I have loved Gideon's for years as one of my favorite cookies and bakeries ever. This however is the first time I got over to the East End Market location to try them out. I love this little spot way more than the location in Disney Springs just based on the ability to get in line and it not take hours. We stopped in quick towards the end of the night hopeful for some of their special stuffed sugar cookies but we were too late in the day. No worries though because we ended up getting a few cookies, a slice of their rainbow cake, a candle, and a bag of their cookie bites. The candle smells just like banana bread which is amazing. The cake was dreamy and had the perfect amount of frosting. The cookies and cream cookie is my favorite and it never disappoints. The cookie bites are a newer favorite for just a quick little snack. Plus they are chocolate covered so how can you go wrong? This might be the best (and fastest) way to get cookies from Gideon's in Florida. I will definitely be back to this location next time I am in town. (Also quick PSA: If you plan on traveling with the candle, keep it out of your bag in airport security so they can check it out for you the easy way!)

I got to try out their limited edition orange chocolate cookie and oh my goodness it was everything I could ask for in a cookie I was worried that it would be completely covered in chocolate chips but it was topped full of candied pecans and orange pieces, and just a little sprinkle of salt and chocolate chips; the cookie was really fragrant with a strong scent of orange, and when biting into it, it was a soft chewy, pillowy texture with some chocolate chips inside. The candied pecans gave it a contrasting sugared crunch making it really addicting to eat, and the candied oranges rounded out the flavors. I hope they'll keep bringing this cookie back! read more
A note for fellow red velvet lovers: Gideon's version is intentionally a vanilla-buttermilk-based red velvet rather than the more cocoa-forward style I personally prefer. I didn't realize that before ordering, so that definitely explains part of why this wasn't for me. Red velvet is usually my birthday cake, so I've tried it from quite a few places over the years. I personally prefer a softer, fluffy cake with a noticeable cocoa flavor and a tangy cream cheese frosting. Gideon's version was very different from that. The color was much more intensely red than I personally like, and I felt like I could taste the coloring. The texture of my slice also felt more wet/dense than moist and fluffy. There was plenty of frosting, but the cream cheese flavor was much more subtle than I prefer. I know this cake has a lot of fans, so I think this really comes down to style and personal preference. If you prefer a more traditional cocoa-forward red velvet with tangy cream cheese frosting, just know that this one is quite different. Delicious cookies - much better than chains like crumbl! I've visited this location once or twice and definitely prefer it to the Disney location since there's such a shorter wait! We only had two people ahead of us and waited about 5-8 minutes u til we were assisted. Our cookie handler was super kind and knowledgeable in explaining the cookies. I tried the butterscotch cookie butter cookie which was so rich and delectable. You definitely need to share these cookies or save them for multiples sittings - they are big and very rich. I have tried the pistachio chocolate and coffee cake cookies before and all are delicious. I'd love to try the cakes in the future. read more

Came here to grab a cookie on my way to an event and grabbed a chocolate chip for my husband and I wanted to get the limited edition chocolate covered cookie bits in peanut butter but they only had pecan, so I got that one. The worker said the flavors for that are whatever the warehouse has, but I might be able to pre-order so I'll look into that for next time. Another nice visit! read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We went in and they have the coolest decorations and merch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are original characters that all have stories and reading cards you can get in the cookie boxes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The person who helped us was super nice and let us look at all of the merch up close We ended up with Dark Coffee Cake, Banana Bread Walnut, Pistachio Chocolate Cookies, a hoodie and stickers. The cookies were all absolutely delicious. My only for is there was no hot coffee to offset the richness, but they do have nitro coffee. I will absolutely be returning when I can. read more

Ever since I discovered this location, I never visited the one in Disney Springs. Usually never a wait and they have pretty much all the same stuff except coffee drinks but they do sell the beans. I stopped in the East End market after visiting the Orlando science center decided to grab a sweet treat before hitting the road back home to Tampa. When I walked in, Gideons had no line there was a nice lady working there and she asked me if I knew what I wanted and I asked what flavors of cakes they had? So she told me they had the Krampus cake and lemon gingerbread cake which I chose the lemon gingerbread cake. The slices are already prepackaged in boxes with a forks inside so I was in and out quickly. The cake was good. I wasn't a huge fan of the gingerbread cake base, I wish it was more moist but the lemon icing and curd was amazing together it was the perfect amount of sweetness. read more

People literally travel from around the world to wait in line at Disney just to grab a few, whether to take home, gift to friends, or simply savor every decadent bite themselves. As a local, I consider myself blessed to live close to the in-town location, where the line is usually much shorter but the magic is just as strong. The rotating specials keep things exciting, and honestly, I've yet to try a cookie here that wasn't incredible. My personal favorite? The Banana Walnut Cookie, quite possibly my favorite cookie of all time. Perfectly balanced, rich, and absolutely unforgettable. Even if you're not a cookie person, trust me, you know someone who is. These make the perfect gifts and are guaranteed to impress. Gideon's Bakehouse is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates dessert done right. read more

Better than waiting at the Disney Spring's location, this small bakehouse is located on Corrine in Winter Park. We got three flavors to go. Cookies and Cream, Banana bread and triple chocolate chip. Each cookie is like 1/2 a pound of goodness and great to share. Service was prompt and courteous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is small but great in flavors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Counter service, if you want a big order, call ahead to reserve your cookies! read more
My friend brought our work group four different types of cookie and we sampled each flavor. They were delicious! I loved the triple chocolate and the pistachio cookie. The cookies are so rich and flavorful. Definitely memorable! I love the aesthetic of the packaging. It feels dark and whimsical. It reminds me specifically of Tim Burton's art style. These cookies definitely brightened our day and I would order them again. Sharing them or eating them over time is probably best given that they are quite large! read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Located in the East End Market in Orlando the original Gideon's location is a fun walk up shop to stop at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The stand is decorated with the dark vibe that is Gideon's with displays of the products set amount props that resemble an old home library or study.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can pre-order for pick up or walk up and get some treats with little waiting ( not like at other locations) they sell cake slices, cookies in a variety of flavors. I purchased the original chocolate chip for a friend and I had the limited edition banana bread cookie, these cookies are large and can definitely be shared or cut to be more than one serving (I cut mine in 4!) the bites are a great way to get just that a taste, I have had bags with a mixture of flavors as well as a single flavor you just never know! read more
I have tried their cookies before and they are rich and decadent. I had been looking at their cakes and decided to give a slice a try. It sure did not disappoint! I got the red velvet slice with oreo buttercream and it was delish! The cake was moist and not overly sweet. It was pricey but worth it, looking forward to their fall flavors! read more
If you like super big cookies, this is the jam for you! Unfortunately, I'm on the other end of the spectrum, but my sister had bought our family cookies for dessert at East End Market! They are indulgent and good! You absolutely need to have cup of coffee or milk with them because it can get very sweet, very fast! We ordered the banana bread cookie, pistachio and chocolate, and another one that I cannot remember. I do recommend trying these though as it seems to be a Disney World staple! read more

I ordered the original chocolate chip cookie and banana bread chocolate chip cookie. They were phenomenal! My favorite was the banana bread chocolate chip. I wish I got more than two cookies. Everyone has heard about Gideon's Bakehouse by now, and for a good reason. Their cookies are big and heavy, each weighing in at half a pound. They are also incredibly rich, so it takes me a few days to get through one cookie. They are great for sharing. My favorite flavor is the Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip, but every flavor I have tried has been amazing. If you are a fan of cookies with lots of chocolate chips, you must try Gideon's. This location is located at East End Market, so parking can be a little tough to find, especially on weekends. If you walk through East End Market you will find this wicked little cookie shop half way down the hall. The ambiance is suited for spooky vibe enthusiast. Service is always friendly and fast. Most importantly, the COOKIES! Their cookies are THICC (with two C's)! It's going to take you days to make it thought one of these gargantuan cookies! Gideon's is a place you try once when visiting Orlando. We swung by the East End Market location during the work week where there was no line and plenty of cookies for sale. It's a walk up counter with seating outdoors so we picked a picnic table with an umbrella to shade ourselves and the cookies. The cookies are heavy, thick, undercooked in the middle, rich, and very sweet. The chocolate chip and peanut butter crunch were the ones we tried, ate half of each and called it a day. The peanut butter was our favorite of the two because it wasn't as sweet but still too much for us. I'd recommend grabbing one and splitting it or buying 2 cookies for a family of 4 just purely due to cost, portion size, and how rich they are. read more

Long line!!!!!! Always!!!!! Gideon's does not fulfill delivery or shipping orders; you can preorder and pickup from the East End location through their website, but zero delivery. (Also stated on their website in FAQ's).
Are their vegan options on the menu?
They do not have vegan or gluten free options.
Do you have the Frankenstein cookie currently?
Since it is a limited time offering in October, unless you are there for that month, no. It also sells out quickly fairly often on weekends during October, so be sure to go early or on weekdays if you must have one.
Do they have uber eats or grub hub?
