We come here weekly for the T-shirt discount on Wednesdays, the staff is so sweet and knows us after our many years of coming to San Jose's. We've basically trained all the servers to know our orders without even asking lol. The place itself is cute, over the last year, so they've been doing a lot of cosmetic updates that bring it a little bit more modern than it was, they have music playing, but it's not too loud and you can still enjoy your dinner and conversations But now to get to the important stuff, I usually rotate through the same three meals, nachos, quesadilla or chimichanga. And they're all solid options for a picky eater like me. Today I had the quesadilla and was quite surprised by the portion size, it was bigger than normal. I don't know if that's the new regular or not, but it was plenty of food for three meals for me. On the other hand, my mom ordered the chicken salad, and felt that it was smaller than it usually is, she usually has leftovers, but not today. Stopped by this restaurant with my family for lunch before we went to the movies and overall, we had a good experience. Upon arrival, our server gave us chips and salsa and it had just the right amount of spice. We ordered flautas, the sampler, kids quesadillas, pineapple agua Fresca, and birria tacos. Everything was very tasty and the birria tacos had a kick to it. The broth was delicious and the sampler had a little bit of everything. The prices were reasonable for the portions. Man o man! This place was a surprise to my wife and I. We stayed nearby and were searching for some Mexican cuisine. I did a YELP search and Bickety Bam, we found ourselves in front of San Jose's. Gotta say, we were very satisfied with our service, but more importantly, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We split an order of Shrimp Tacos and the Sampler Platter, that had tamales, chimichangas, Flautas, and nachos. Man it was muy bueno y delicioso! I used to live in this area years ago and would go here often. I went back today for the first time in a while and im so glad I did. I went with a friend for an early dinner. The SJ margaritas were amazing as always. They sneak up on you so be careful! Lol. The salsa tasted fresh and the queso was delicious as usual. My friend got the quesadilla and i got the SJ burrito. Both were amazing! Our server was a sweetheart who didnt rush us to order and came back to check on us enough times. Went to this location for the first time. We've always gone to the Clermont location & loved it. From first stepping inside, it was a disaster...no hostess to greet you. We stood there for 5-6 minutes brighter anyone even showed up! They sat us & then no one gave to give us waters or chips? One of the employees was standing near us chatting away in Spanish to other customers, while holding a broom! Not appetizing at all! Bathroom was dirty, no tp & the Bad Bunny music needs to go!! San Jose was on my list of places that I've been wanting to try so naturally, I went, got a table outside, ordered a Sangria and placed an order of their steak. The restaurant is at the corner of the plaza and has 2 sections (by the bar area and larger tables area). It is decorated as a Tex Mex restaurant and the boothe we sat at was comfortable. The menu is a bit limited, but you get a good mix of Tex Mex flavors. Jalexis our server was attentive, friendly, checked on us often and answered any questions we had. That for sure makes the meal more enjoyable. Our food tasted good, it was made to order, quality ingredients, good flavor, good portions and entrees included sides and tortillas. The Tinga Poblana missed a bit of Chipotle flavor, but it was good. I was recently in the Ocoee area and my friends recommended San Jose's. I'm always down for Mexican food so I was excited to try it. I ordered a steak chimichanga and my boyfriend ordered enchiladas, one with beef tinga and one with ground beef. We chose to order via delivery and the food was still warm and fresh upon arrival. The even include chips and salsa with delivery which is one of my favorite things about dining in at most Mexican restaurants! The chips were good and the salsa was delicious and had a nice little kick to it. I enjoyed my steak chimichanga very much. The meat was flavorful and tender and the queso topping was delicious! I sampled my boyfriend's enchiladas and those were also tasty. The rice wasn't the best I've had, but it was still pretty good. Their refried beans were also yummy. Found out about this place at a food fair in Orlando years ago. Its really good, and for me, the hot sauce they make is half of the appeal of the place (its delicious, so ask for it!). The shredded beef is the best shredded beef at a Mexican restaurant ive ever had, so be sure to order that. I like a simple taco without cheese and sour cream and they delivered. The tacos were made with carne asada, cilantro, onions in a corn tortilla. The meat was tender and loaded with flavor. Been eyeing this place for quite a little since I drive often through the Ocoee / W Colonial area and Mexican food is one of my favorite. I was greeted by the hostess and quickly assigned to my table- the right side of the restaurant seemed to be closed off due to COVID. A con of being seated towards the left side is that many of the tables, especially those near the kitchen, are located in very dark spaces. They have an extensive menu (over 10 pages) and a pretty good margarita special- 2 for $8. Overall experience was good, the customer service was really on point, although the food wasn't completely impressive as I was hoping for (was looking for that really authentic Mexican flavor). The fried ice cream on the other hand is a must, so make sure you save space for dessert if you come here. I've been coming to this place for years with my dad, ever since they were a little hole in the wall restaurant. My dad even had his wedding reception here and the whole staff was very attentive and accommodating. We live going to dinner here on Tuesdays because when we wear our San Jose's tshirts we get half off of our meals. I'm pretty picky with salsa and I really like their salsa, which they end up refilling multiple times. I usually order the California Burrito because I can only eat about half of it before I'm stuffed and it tastes great as lunch the next day. We bring new people here all the time and love challenging them to eat the entire large Cali burrito. So far only a few have managed to accomplish this task. Love this place. read more
