Free parking in lot to the side of the restaurant. We were there on a Wednesday night and there was not a large crowd. The hostess was friendly and sat us immediately at our table. Complimentary chips and salsa came pretty quickly. We ordered a chicken tortilla soup, a garlic shrimp player, and a kids cheese quesadilla (added chicken) with a free drinks. Everything arrived at the same time and correctly. The smallest baby enjoyed the Mexican rice. Extra bonus : 15% military discount year round. read more

My neighbor and I dropped by spontaneously for a quick lunch. Service was very good and timely. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. I ordered a birria taco salad. The meat was perfectly seasoned! The taco bowl, on the other hand, was cold and seemed greasy. All of the toppings were great, so it wasn't a huge deal. I'd definitely return for dinner! read more

San Jose's Original Mexican Restaurant is a good enough Mexican restaurant located in a nice well-maintained shopping plaza (so parking won't be an issue) and offers good food served by a friendly staff. The ambiance is pleasant enough and pretty much what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. I went with a burrito and enjoyed it. We come here weekly for the T-shirt discount on Wednesdays, the staff is so sweet and knows us after our many years of coming to San Jose's. We've basically trained all the servers to know our orders without even asking lol. The place itself is cute, over the last year, so they've been doing a lot of cosmetic updates that bring it a little bit more modern than it was, they have music playing, but it's not too loud and you can still enjoy your dinner and conversations But now to get to the important stuff, I usually rotate through the same three meals, nachos, quesadilla or chimichanga. And they're all solid options for a picky eater like me. Today I had the quesadilla and was quite surprised by the portion size, it was bigger than normal. I don't know if that's the new regular or not, but it was plenty of food for three meals for me. On the other hand, my mom ordered the chicken salad, and felt that it was smaller than it usually is, she usually has leftovers, but not today. Overall, the place is cute, the staff is friendly, and the food is good, would definitely recommend for a solid Mexican dinner! read more

Man o man! This place was a surprise to my wife and I. We stayed nearby and were searching for some Mexican cuisine. I did a YELP search and Bickety Bam, we found ourselves in front of San Jose's. Gotta say, we were very satisfied with our service, but more importantly, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We split an order of Shrimp Tacos and the Sampler Platter, that had tamales, chimichangas, Flautas, and nachos. Man it was muy bueno y delicioso! This was a great way to end our vacation, as we hopped on a plane the next day. Thank you for the wonderful experience and as always, Enjoy & Happy Eating! read more

Stopped by this restaurant with my family for lunch before we went to the movies and overall, we had a good experience. Upon arrival, our server gave us chips and salsa and it had just the right amount of spice. We ordered flautas, the sampler, kids quesadillas, pineapple agua Fresca, and birria tacos. Everything was very tasty and the birria tacos had a kick to it. The broth was delicious and the sampler had a little bit of everything. The prices were reasonable for the portions. Staff were also friendly and attentive. The restaurant is pretty big and has a bar too so there's plenty of seating even on busy days. read more

I used to live in this area years ago and would go here often. I went back today for the first time in a while and im so glad I did. I went with a friend for an early dinner. The SJ margaritas were amazing as always. They sneak up on you so be careful! Lol. The salsa tasted fresh and the queso was delicious as usual. My friend got the quesadilla and i got the SJ burrito. Both were amazing! Our server was a sweetheart who didnt rush us to order and came back to check on us enough times. The 3d art was also adorable and I love the authentic feel of Mexican culture this place has. I will definitely be back the next time im in the area. read more

The food was good! The waiter was friendly and made us feel welcome, and the restaurant wasn't noisy, likely due to the time of our visit.

Went to this location for the first time. We've always gone to the Clermont location & loved it. From first stepping inside, it was a disaster...no hostess to greet you. We stood there for 5-6 minutes brighter anyone even showed up! They sat us & then no one gave to give us waters or chips? One of the employees was standing near us chatting away in Spanish to other customers, while holding a broom! Not appetizing at all! Bathroom was dirty, no tp & the Bad Bunny music needs to go!! Works definitely NOT recommend this place! We got up & walked out because no one even greeted us or apologized for the wait! Awful customer service & a crap experience!! read more

The environment is very nice, decorated. Staff were friendly. Food was good. We ordered quesadilla as appetizer, chimichanga with beef tinga and chicken with cheese on top (we thought that was going to come with cheese dip, but was only melted cheese. Everything was good. read more

So I had a long day at work last week and what cures all of that?! Mexican food, duh! San Jose was on my list of places that I've been wanting to try so naturally, I went, got a table outside, ordered a Sangria and placed an order of their steak. When I tell you, everything was so fresh and soooooo delicious, I mean it. I feel like sometimes local Mexican restaurants lack flavor or cater to the locals. I deeply feel like they just need for the flavor needed to be spoken about. So here I am. Also the Sangria, while it didn't seem like it was very strong with liquor rather than the fruit stuff they put in it, it was still very good! So did it do what it needed to be done after a very stressful week...YES! Definitely recommend! read more

Something like a four. While the food was very good they were also very slow. Lunch took about an hour and a half! And it's not like they were very busy. Also wasn't feeling the waiter's hospitality and overall sufficiently sufficient friendliness though he perked up in the end, I mean tip time. We also had to ask for everything multiple times including refills and salt and pepper and sauces and pretty much everything. ...but the food was good. Salsas and picante salsas we're good. Chips were fresh. Chicken tortilla soup was good, a little light with the ingredients but good. read more

The people that work here are very friendly. I haven't had any food that wasn't tasty. I especially like their chili rellenos. They have a $16 margarita that is really big, like two drinks in one. It is very good!! Service is attentive. Go, you will be glad you did. read more

We were hungry and had not been in Ocoee for a while, so decided to take a suggestion from an employee from a nearby store. The restaurant is at the corner of the plaza and has 2 sections (by the bar area and larger tables area). It is decorated as a Tex Mex restaurant and the boothe we sat at was comfortable. The menu is a bit limited, but you get a good mix of Tex Mex flavors. Jalexis our server was attentive, friendly, checked on us often and answered any questions we had. That for sure makes the meal more enjoyable. Our food tasted good, it was made to order, quality ingredients, good flavor, good portions and entrees included sides and tortillas. The Tinga Poblana missed a bit of Chipotle flavor, but it was good. We ordered the Sangria (refreshing, full of fruit, red), Queso Fundido, Sopa de Pollo Bowl (comes with rice in it), Ensalada de Nopal (cactus salad, really good) and the Beff Tinga Poblana. I have known about San Jose for years and for some reason never made it a trip. We will be back and/or try their other locations. read more

We love San Jose's! My dads favorite is Caldo De Pollo (chicken soup). The soup is simple classic Mexican spin on an old favorite. Full of flavor and topped with cilantro and onions. I was recently in the Ocoee area and my friends recommended San Jose's. I'm always down for Mexican food so I was excited to try it. I ordered a steak chimichanga and my boyfriend ordered enchiladas, one with beef tinga and one with ground beef. We chose to order via delivery and the food was still warm and fresh upon arrival. The even include chips and salsa with delivery which is one of my favorite things about dining in at most Mexican restaurants! The chips were good and the salsa was delicious and had a nice little kick to it. I enjoyed my steak chimichanga very much. The meat was flavorful and tender and the queso topping was delicious! I sampled my boyfriend's enchiladas and those were also tasty. The rice wasn't the best I've had, but it was still pretty good. Their refried beans were also yummy. Overall, it was a delicious meal with huge portions and I'd definitely order from San Jose's again in the future! read more

Over all atmosphere was good... though I did have to have my table wiped down... waiter was good...actually I would give them a 3.5. Being from the west coast I am very particular about my Mexican food. Found out about this place at a food fair in Orlando years ago. Its really good, and for me, the hot sauce they make is half of the appeal of the place (its delicious, so ask for it!). All in all its a very cool yummy spot for lunch that i make sure to hit every time im in the area. read more

Service is a hit or miss at this location but it's never bad enough that I would not want to return. On my most recent visit I ordered street tacos and loved them. I like a simple taco without cheese and sour cream and they delivered. The tacos were made with carne asada, cilantro, onions in a corn tortilla. The meat was tender and loaded with flavor. The complimentary chips and salsa is always a nice touch and the queso fundido is also a tasty starter. It has a decent balance of cheese and grilled chorizo. They add sour cream , pico and guacamole on the side with some warmed up tortillas. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but the hubby is so I always oblige. He always gets enchiladas and I tend to change it up. This time I got a chicken dish with rice and beans and peppers/onions and cheese on the chicken. The cheese wasn't quite melted so was a little weird texture wise. The chips and salsa are always great. I'm sure we'll be back, but I'll choose a different dish... read more

I stopped by here for their Yelp special $15 for $30. It's just your typical Mexican joint. My server was nice and prompt. We ordered the trio taco special and enchilada combo. This place is good for a quick meal and drinks in West Orlando. My watermelon margarita was goodddd and made with fresh fruit but it didn't have a lot alcohol in it. Been eyeing this place for quite a little since I drive often through the Ocoee / W Colonial area and Mexican food is one of my favorite. I was greeted by the hostess and quickly assigned to my table- the right side of the restaurant seemed to be closed off due to COVID. A con of being seated towards the left side is that many of the tables, especially those near the kitchen, are located in very dark spaces. They have an extensive menu (over 10 pages) and a pretty good margarita special- 2 for $8. Overall experience was good, the customer service was really on point, although the food wasn't completely impressive as I was hoping for (was looking for that really authentic Mexican flavor). The fried ice cream on the other hand is a must, so make sure you save space for dessert if you come here. Quick thing I forgot to mention about the margaritas: as great as they were priced, they were watered down with a lot of mixer and therefore the alcohol could barely be tasted. read more

I've been coming to this place for years with my dad, ever since they were a little hole in the wall restaurant. My dad even had his wedding reception here and the whole staff was very attentive and accommodating. We live going to dinner here on Tuesdays because when we wear our San Jose's tshirts we get half off of our meals. I'm pretty picky with salsa and I really like their salsa, which they end up refilling multiple times. I usually order the California Burrito because I can only eat about half of it before I'm stuffed and it tastes great as lunch the next day. We bring new people here all the time and love challenging them to eat the entire large Cali burrito. So far only a few have managed to accomplish this task. Love this place. read more
