Come on y'all, you know why I was here yesterday. I love celebrating Cinco de Mayo here for the bulls rides and other entertainment. I went around 6ish and there were many people waiting. I was told about 20 to 30 minute wait. So I went to the patio area and rode the mechanical moo moo twice. After the ride, came back inside. It was loud due to the music, but the dancers entertained us. It took a bit longer than expected, but I was seated about 45 minutes later. I took the house margarita for 10 bucks, and it was served in a plastic cup. I was just expecting a standard, but decent quality margarita since it was cheap. I was way off! After the first sip, I can immediately tell I was going to have a huge fiesta. They must have put a lot of tequila, cause I was feeling tipsy already. After drinking half of it, I was dancing to the music. The full drink left me in party mode throughout the whole time as the restaurant. For my entree, I took the chicken enchiladas got 17 dollars. I choose double rice and cream sauce. There were two nicely sized enchiladas, and the chicken was shredded nicely. It was tender and the enchiladas was pretty soft. The sauce was mild, but still flavorful to enjoy. The rice was filling. I saved one enchilada for home cause I wanted dessert too. So I took the tres leches (9 dollars), which was sweet and moist. It was just the right slice portion for me. It was just an excellent dinner for Cinco de Mayo. Service was pretty busy and got a bit chaotic at times, but they still did a very good job. While it did get slow sometimes, the entertainment fully made up for it. A lot of people were dancing and chanting to the Mexican hat dance and tequila songs. Quite a few, especially the kids, were having fun on the bull. And the professional dancers did a great job interacting with the guests. It was wild, fun, and enjoyable. I must say that while Azteca Del Oro has smaller portions at higher prices than a few years ago, it is still serving filling food at maybe higher quality than before. Maybe it was the alcohol making me happy, or the bull rides that got me disoriented. And I made the mistake of telling the operator that I ride live bulls too, because he did go hard mode on me the last ride, causing me to land awkwardly and hurt my arm. I was by on a recent weeknight for my final Spanish class ... :) I started with a little Azteca Queso Dip another student shared. I didn't get any of the chorizo, but it was good, and not too spicy despite plenty of visible chilis. For my entree, I went with the molcajete, a large serving of steak, chicken, shrimp and chorizo with peppers and onions and a chunk of queso fresco on top, served in a scalding hot stone mortar with rice and beans on the side. The warm ambiance and music first greeted me when I walked it. I have been a few times before for both dine in and take out. The flavors today did not disappoint. We ordered a side of guacamole as an appetizer and lemonades to drink. What I want to highlight is the Salmon Mariscada. It was so so good. The sauce was amazing. I didn't want to waste a drop. I would buy a few bottles if they sold that sauce by the bottle. The staff was attentive and checked in periodically. Small chain Mexican restaurant located in West Orlando just a few miles from infamous "Crime Hills" area. Not sure how authentic it is but the food here is pretty decent. Been here a few times with some colleagues for grub and margaritas. Drinks are delicious and strong. Everytime I've dined here, I ordered the arroz con pollo (chicken and rice) with mushrooms in a tomato based stew. This is my go to dish when I'm indecisive but it always hits the spot. Meh. Nothing to write home about here. Chips and salsa were good. I ordered the chicken flour flautas and they came out as what looked like and tasted like corn tortillas.. I did verify that they were flour, just didn't have that lighter crops that I prefer. The shell was hard crunchy and they weren't great. My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner. We started with margaritas; I got a flight and he got a standard margarita in a huge glass. The flight was great and came with a firecracker, which was a delightful touch. I especially liked the spicy pineapple margarita, which is a favorite of mine. Dinner was also delicious. We started with the queso and then went on to dinner: I had the soup and elotes (I am an elotes fanatic) while my husband enjoyed his birria tacos. Everything was delicious and very big portions, so we left satisfied. This is not super fancy but rather traditional Mexican food options done right, and that absolutely made it hit the spot. We also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Service was quick but not rushed, and they were busy but not slammed. On a Friday night, they had a live mariachi band roaming around playing music and singing. Such a nice touch! Also, the restaurant itself is in a great spot and decorated festively. We have been coming to Azteca for two plus years in winter garden and on colonial which is close to our house. We love the one in winter garden and will frequent the one on colonial because of proximity. Unfortunately the last couple time it has been extremely noisy you can barely carry on a conversation. Ok I let it go because it's close!! Stopped today after an event and it's fairly busy but the waitress was on her game taking care of us and proceeds to take our order which we pretty much get the same thing every time which is 3 tacos dinner. Although this time we were told we cannot mix our tacos aka two carnitas and one carne Asada which we have done multiple times over the past two years. Jerry said no can't do that... huh we have done it I don't know how many times but Jerry said no sooooo it is what it is! Obviously the food, experience, service can very from franchise to franchise :/ .....good thing as a customer we have choices and this establishment will not be on the list any longer. I haven't been to azteca in a long time. So we decided to stop in for my birthday lunch. It was not busy and our server was great! The food was fresh and hot. I got the chimichanga and a margarita flight neither disappointed. My best friend got the fried snapper which she said was very good and she got a top shelf margarita which she said was prepared perfectly and was very smooth. Azteca is my favorite Mexican restaurant in regards to flavor in the Orlando area. However, this particular location really lacks in the service area. Tonight, my daughter and I came in around 7:45 (Sunday) and it wasn't busy. We were seated, chips and salsa were dropped off right away and the server took our drink order. 20 minutes later, another server asked if we've been helped and I explained that we ordered our drinks 20 minutes ago and haven't seen anyone since. My daughter said it was closer to 30 minutes. I do know that another table was sat after us and they had their drinks and apps before we got our drinks. Anyway, the new server took our order and we got it shortly thereafter. Both servers checked on us once, but our original server was slow and late. The food was good. I recommend going to the Winter Garden location, which is where we normally go. The food and service are both very good there. read more

Went to the movies and figured we would stop by on the way home. The service was meh and the food was lack luster. I felt left out the entire time. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and we had to walk inside and ask others to bring our waitress back. This was my first experience here and my last. I asked about the happy hour and was given the menu without any context. When I asked what the difference was in drinks since the price was the same, the waitress told me it was 2 for 1 with the most unnecessary attitude. I had to explain that it was my first time and she then let up. We also thought there was a hair in the food and when we asked the waitress to clarify, she said, "I don't think it's a hair" with uncertainty. We figured it wasn't a hair and she at least offered to remake the food but she should be more certain in cases like this. Won't come back but if you may like it. WOW WOW WOW! This is a hidden gem fr! Honestly when we tasted the salsa we KNEW we were in for a good time. The food was amazing, drinks were soo good we got the 2-4-1 house margs. I'm shook. Super delicious and will give you what you need. However, my bartender didn't ask me any flavors for my don q drink. That was quite unprofessional. Outside of that one of the drinks that was in the flight tasted horrible and he made it over, but he made it in another glass, which was technically a little smaller than the rest of the flight glasses. We had a great first time here. The ambiance is comfortable and casual, and the decor is nice. We were seated in a booth near the bar. The customers are a little loud by the bar, but we adjusted. Service is great. All of the waitstaff who helped us were friendly and kind. They had a mariachi band too, which was fun! For our appetizers, we shared both the guacamole and the queso. With the guacamole, a server comes to your table and makes it in front of you. He really put on a show, juggling the ingredients as he mixed everything. Unlike myself who loves cilantro, my aunt has the gene where cilantro tastes like soap to her, so we were able to customize with no cilantro, as the guacamole is made fresh. It tasted refreshing and delicious. Our queso was great as well. We had raw jalapeños on the side which we put in it--they were actually spicy, which we enjoyed! The complimentary salsa was also yummy. For my drink, I ended up choosing the dragonfruit margarita (Dulce Vida Reposado, Dragon Fruit syrup, Barrows Intense Ginger Liqueur, lime juice.) It was too sweet for my liking, and all I could taste was syrup, which was disappointing since other reviewers seemed to rave about their margaritas. My mom and my aunt got the skinny margaritas which were not their favorites either. Perhaps we just chose wrong. Next time, I will choose a different drink. For our entrees, my sister and I went with the carnitas burrito (Flour tortilla filled with pork carnitas, stuffed with Mexican rice, refried beans, onions & green peppers. Topped with burrito sauce & blend of Jack & cotija cheese. Served with sour cream.) Our mom and her sister went with the carnitas tacos. Our burrito was gigantic and was flavorful and tasty! Had to choose a place to meet a friend midway from downtown to Wintergarden. This was ideal. To be honest I absolutely loved this place service and atmosphere wise. It was SUPER busy and management was very attentive. There is someone going around asking if you would like fresh guacamole with a cart and he makes it right in front of you. They have a photographer to take pictures of you if you'd like. The bottle water was fancy and did taste great. I am giving the restaurant 3 stars due to the lack of flavor in the tacos. Our tacos were really bland. I would say the kids quesadillas had more flavor. The chips and salsa were great, we did ask for queso and never got it so we just asked for the waiter to cancel it. The price of the food was pretty pricey , $21.50 for 3 tacos , a cup of rice and some refried beans is a little excessive especially if the food doesn't have flavor. Overall, it's decent Tex Mex food! I went with the Tex Mex tacos of chicken and ground beef. They tasted awesome! The veggie nachos came literally with actual vegetables!! But it still tastes good. The bar has a ton of drink options. Be sure to try the corn on the cob. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

I have frequented this original location of Azteca D'Oro for many years now. I always knew them to have the best Mexican flavors and affordable pricing. Ever since they expanded to different locations I noticed the menu prices have steadily risen. A meal used to be under $20 here and now every meal is over $20. We came here on a Saturday afternoon for the unlimited mimosas $20 deal which is worth it only if you drink at least 3 mimosas. We were immediately sat in a booth at the bar. The bar was quiet and almost empty so it was a calm time of the day. There have been other times in weekends when they have live mariachi and the whole restaurant is almost completely full. My girl friend got the Milanesa de pollo which is supposed to be smothered in queso. However, there was barely enough queso to go with this size of chicken breast. When we asked for more, we were charged $5 extra by the server. In the past, the amount of queso has never been an issue when ordering this dish. I chose the safe route and ordered their infamous sizzling shrimp fajita meal and this was a plentiful dish worth the price. The food is well seasoned and I appreciate the authenticity with traditional Mexican dishes as well as Tex-mex dishes like quesadillas for the more simple palettes. Of course I'll keep returning for the food and probably not for the unlimited mimosas deal. I enjoy their margaritas much more than anything and those are worth it every time! read more
