I may have found a gem of a bar. I came here the other night with family to shoot some pool and enjoy the games. I was met with friendly greetings and service from Jason at the bar! The pool tables are nice and only $1 per game. It was a quiet and not so busy night so the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. But I hear it can get a little packed in there. The bartenders treat everyone like a long lost friend, that is really the charm of the place This is a nice local spot, the bartenders are enjoyable and like to listen or talk with you. The tap room serves up on tap shipyard beers with a few a local favs and seasonal beers. They are also a full liqueur bar as well, so now your friends who don't like beer will be able to enjoy the Tap room. Modern Day Cheers. I've been to TapRoom several times in the past with an old acquaintance. I must say I really like this place! The entire room is dimly lit so it makes for a more intimate setting. There's usually always a place to sit at the bar and if not there's plenty of tables. The bar offers a wide selection of beverages to get your night moving in the right direction. The bartenders are always very nice and get you your drink quickly. The music playing overhead is usually hip-hop which is fine with me. The crowd is very diverse at all times and it seems to suit everyone. The bathrooms are relatively clean and well stocked. Kudos! You have options of darts, bar game stations and pool. Enough to keep even the strangest soul occupied. The only negative comment I have is that the smoking is at an all time high like they legit have to keep the front door open. It's bearable when you're in there oddly enough but when you leave you might get nauseas at the smell of your clothing...and it takes quite a few shampoos to get the smell of cigarettes out of your hair. This is not a place that I could frequent regularly just for that reason. read more

The Tap Room is my favorite local bar in the area! It's the perfect spot to unwind without having to worry if it's a tourist trap. Great selection of beer and liquor with an affordable price point. The bartenders are friendly and well versed in mixology. The only downside is some of the TouchTunes music restrictions, but otherwise, it's awesome local hang out with great drinks, pool tables, and darts. read more

While visiting an establishment that I visit frequently (The Florida Tap Room in Orlando, Fl on 6409 Raleigh St, Orlando, FL 32835.) My friend and I we're given bad customer service. I ordered hot wings from Dominos, which is next door, As I always do. After my food was delivered, I asked the bartender for napkins. Keep in mind I already ordered two Long Islands for my friend and I, His response was "Ask Dominos for some napkins". I then asked him why would he say something like that? when there's no signs prohibiting me from ordering food outside this establishment. Might I add, they just started selling food here 15 days ago, So beforehand I was use to ordering from domino's for 2 years eating my wings at tap room and enjoying their drinks in the process was my usual routine. He then kicked us out & called the police due to us politely asking for napkins. We've now have been banned from this establishment and will seek legal action. I'm highly disappointed and outraged at how distasteful this establishment actions we're towards me and my fellow friend. read more

Before I could even walk in the door, I could tell that this place was a joke. I was going to meet some friends at this location, I had not been so I went as is. As it was me in a sleeveless shirt with shorts (this is Florida). I was "greeted" at the door by a "gentlemen" who just pointed to some tiny text on the bottom of a Bud Light sign and said "You don't have a different shirt with ya do ya?". Didn't even have the decency or up bringing to look me in the eye or anything. Then just slumped back into the bar without a single customer service basic of "Sorry guys, its policy." or even a "Sorry guys, have a good night.". After that I definitely didn't want to go to my house and grab another shirt. Why would I want to go to a place that is rude to you before you even walk in the door? I get in my car and decide that I am not gonna let that slide. Long story short, I call and got a girl on the phone who must have just started because she seemed to have no idea what was going on in the bar at all. I then realized she didn't even know this guy existed so I hung up. I then was going to call back to get her name just as a reference, if I wanted to call back the next day. I call back and the "gentlemen" from earlier named Alex answered the phone. Already with an attitude because I am sure they thought it would be me. After explaining to him in an extremely calm voice how just saying "sorry" at the end of what he said could have made it to where I wanted to actually come back. Also how he just made it so me and my friends would probably not go there at all. After all of my explaining and giving advice from many MANY years of business management and business ownership, he simply didnt get it. Much like a child argues a point he clearly knows nothing about, he proceeds to tell me that he was in no way rude or in the wrong. Then all I said was "All it would have taken would have been a quick, Sorry its our policy or Sorry guys, he rebuttals ... "Do you need an explanation?" To that I said "Why in the Hell would I need an explanation? I would, however, like some respect." He laughed and proceeded to be one of the proudest members of the Dbag Club until I finally told him to have a good night and hung up. This is not a good person to have dealing with any kind of customer at all. He does nothing but create a situation where there would never had been one in the first place, had he known basics. The fact that he said it is a family owned business I hope that there is someone above him that doesn't share his sunny disposition and is able to speak to someone with an ounce of common decency . read more

Cool atmosphere here every time I go! They have a huge screen for games. I've never been on a Sunday but I bet it rocks with that screen! I'm a beer guy and the price is right for micro brews! They aren't a jacked up over priced bar! read more

A great dive bar, for those into that sort of thing. The music is loud, the atmosphere dark and smoky, the patronage rocks awesomely epic beards...What can I say? The reason it receives a 3 though is due to the smoking factor,... my own personal preference it to come away from an established smelling the same as when I came in. I'm posting this review for two reasons: 1. because I love the Tap Room and have been a regular for years and 2. to correct some negativity. You might have read a review by a poster named Dave R. who had decent things to say about the bar itself and was positively vitriolic about the karaoke show. First off, a little disclaimer. Matt, the host of the show, is a good friend and a former roommate. He's been doing Karaoke for several years now and has done consistent, regular shows downtown and across O-Town for a long time. That being said, he's pretty good at it. Dave had much negativity regarding an inability to sing in a rapid fashion and the perception he had regarding favoritism on the part of the host... specifically, and I quote about how his "3 fatass friends (one of whom seems to be in a rock band)" get to sing pretty much all night. Now, without ego or shame, I'm probably one of the "fatass" friends to which Dave was referring. And the truth is, yeah, we do get to sing a fair amount more. There's a few simple reasons for that. 1. We show up EARLY- Tuesday night Karaoke is PACKED pretty much from start to finish, so we get there early in the show (10:30ish) not just to support our boy, but so we can be sure we'll get a spot. I've showed up at 11:30 sometimes and only gotten to sing once. It's life. There's literally almost a hundred people who want to sing at any given point on Tuesday, so if you want to be one of the lucky, sign up early as we do. Oh, and there's a real simple way to get moved up to the front of the line! Matt loves tips. If I'm in a hurry and want to sing before I bounce, I'll toss him a couple bills for a tip. I've seen people who sign u DEAD LAST get their turn next because they showed a little monetary appreciation. No shame in it! I mean, hell, it works at Howl at the Moon too! 2. We sign up for MORE THAN ONE song at a time. We don't go CRAZY, mind, but we do sign up for two or three at a time. Matt's pretty good about shuffling us in throughout the night so everyone gets a chance but we like to sing, so we sign up for more than one. 3. Not every time we sing is because WE signed up for it. See, people have this funny thing they do where Karaoke makes 'em nervous, so they sign up people they know will sing with them in order to have a better time AND who will be funny or outgoing on stage to take the attention off themselves. Anthony (the guy with the band, who is NOT a fatass, btw) is really good at this. People like singing with him. 4. We're damned good singers. Who wants to hear a drunk bitch drone out the words to Roxanne by the Police in a terrific stupor? I don't. I'm not critical, but I also don't want to hear some douchebag claw my eardrums out with his sonic apostasy. Neither do others, so we get to sing a bit more, because people sign us up for shit we don't necessarily plan on singing. The truth is, if you love drinking, hanging out, and maybe making some new friends through drunken embarrassment, you can't go wrong with the Florida Tap Room on a Tuesday night. If you love to sing, follow the guidelines I laid out above, and you'll have a solid blast! Also, if you find the Tuesday Night show is a little too crowded, they've also added a show on Saturday night, which I run on occasion (I'll be there today, the 24th as a matter of fact) so come on out there too and get your fix. To Dave R, I highly recommend you showing up Saturday night to have a good time. I promise, you'll get to sing your songs. Maybe we could have a shot or something. Just think about the situation next time, before you go off shooting bile about people who do a good job! read more

So today was my third time here . I just moved next door to the lofts in metro west. Its about 100 degrees outside so i walked in weating a nike tanktop. When i sat down thwy refused to serve me. Again this is a local dive that allows smoking indoors. Ive been to much classier places nearby like Teak and Crafted in a tanktop and never got refused service. I dont recommend this place at all.
