Way cleaner than the other one in Pasadena. The equipment is better kept, and the layout feels more natural.

This is hands down my favorite gym to train at! I've had memberships at pretty much all the…read morecommercial gyms in the SGV. Y'all know how chaotic those can be... Switching to this gym has been a breath of fresh air. MFC is run by a hardworking and friendly family who's always quick to help and the gymgoers contribute to the overall chill vibe that I love about this place. Equipment: TONS. There's every attachment possible for the cable machines. In addition to having all the typical plate-loaded and pin machines and dumbbells (in 2.5 lb increments too!) for the general fitness enthusiast, they also have specialty equipment for bodybuilding, strongman, olympic weightlifting, and powerlifting. I started coming here to prep for a powerlifting meet and appreciate the 2 combo racks, multi-station rig, many deadlift platforms, and multiple benches. There's plenty of powerlifting equipment so I've never had to wait to SBD. Community: The folks who come here are respectful and have good gym etiquette. Some folks keep to themselves; they're locked in and focused on their own workouts. Other folks enjoy talking more and building friendships as they train. To each their own - I just love that folks wipe down their equipment after use and rerack their weights. Bathroom: Super clean with multiple stalls, showers, and lockers inside Parking: Spacious, free parking lot. I've never encountered this, but if the lot was ever full, you could easily find (free) street parking Bonuses: There's a large cubby shelf located under the stairs for us to drop our stuff off while we work out. There's also a charging station and several cleaning sprays + constantly restocked towels so we can easily wipe down equipment (and ourselves) They offer $5 day passes on the last Friday of every month so take advantage of that to come check out how awesome this gym is. $65 for the monthly membership is such an invaluable investment for all that MFC provides. I'm incredibly happy to be training here and know you will be too!

I like Equinox, mostly because it's the only gym I've ever been able to go to consistently. I'm in…read morePasadena and I pay $240/month. Mine doesn't have a pool. I think whether it's worth it really depends on how you use it. If you're just using it like a normal gym, it's obviously way overpriced. But if you actually take advantage of the classes and amenities, it is worth it. The floor Pilates classes are free but the reformer classes are extra. The classes are really high quality with good instructors. For me especially because I hate packing stuff and they provide everything you need for all classes. Even for yoga, you don't have to bring anything. You just show up and they have mats, bolsters, blankets, and everything is clean and ready to go. For me personally, I use it as an escape because I can hit the steam room and take a shower sort of like a spa pass. They provide all the bath products too. I'm not a huge fan of the products themselves, they are drying kind of like hotel products,, but at least they're there, so I don't have to think about packing anything. Another thing is that it removed a lot of barriers because they provide towels, which are always clean and fluffy (and I don't have to wash). I can show up in workout clothes with a water bottle and everything else is provided. As with any gym, though, it's not worth it if you don't actually use it. It's also not a huge social scene, which might be a downside for some people but is an upside for me. I can go work out without worrying about having to talk to people or have awkward interactions around equipment. There aren't tons of people taking selfies or clogging up machines and walkways. It also doesn't get super crowded, which I think is partly because of the price point. Those are all huge pluses for me, but I'm on the more introverted side and just trying to work out, not update my social media or make new friends at the gym. I'm basically paying to remove barriers that usually prevent me from going to regular gyms, plus the classes are quality. I don't have to wait for equipment or deal with a bunch of little obstacles that make me less likely to go. They validate parking, which is another big plus. Between the parking, classes, towels, showers, and amenities, there are basically no barriers. The customer service is also really good, I've never had an unpleasant interaction on my way in or out at the front desk, so the whole experience is low stress. I used someone's referral code from here when I joined and got a gift shop credit/didn't have to pay the initiation fee. Everyone I know has been able to join without paying the invitation fee, so don't pay it, they will find a way to waive it because they want your business. I used someone else's link from reddit, but it got taken down. It got the fee waived and I got a credit, so I'm posting my link in case it helps someone else. https://equinox.com/referrals/003A000001TO5GKIA1 Bottom line is it's worth it if it actually gets you to go or you're already paying for classes somewhere else. If you're already paying for yoga classes somewhere else, that's probably close to $100 a month by itself, and you usually don't get all the extra amenities. For me, the biggest value is that it removes barriers and makes it easy and low stress so I don't avoid it. Having everything provided and not having to plan or prepare makes me much more likely to go consistently and yeah, I could save money and go somewhere else, but I wouldn't go, thus my Equinox membership.

I went here exactly once and the Pasadena Equinox is so bad quality and had such horrendous service…read morethat it was enough for me to immediately reach out to GM and Equinox corporate management to request canceling my Equinox membership effective immediately. I've been an Equinox member on and off since 2013 -- and had great experiences at SF Union, SF Pine St, NYC locations, Tyson's and Glendale -- and never again. The Pasadena Equinox deviates from Equinox's documented general corporate policies and expect you to know this despite no signs, no notification and no advance notice (mentioning to members at check-in, etc.) The women's bathroom staff were extremely rude, unevenly applying their policies to prevent people in towels from entering shower and knocking on showers mid-shower to demand people exit mid-shower and saying "it's their policy and we should know" Note no manager was on duty -- I asked to speak to someone during gym business hours and there was no one at the gym to speak to -- and my email to the GM regarding this is unanswered. I'm attaching screenshot of Equinox's corporate policy regarding this -- Pasadena is not in line with the Equinox policy, which is 15 mins before close; not 30 -- and Pasadena doesn't document this anywhere. I can't wait to figure out another gym to support instead ASAP.

Perfect studio for beginners to advance seasoned veterans of Lagree. The trainers here are so nice welcoming and truly can do it all with no sweat. I'm always impressed by the amount of parking spots available when I come here. Plenty of free 2hrs parking along Mission. Love the cozy neighborhood as well. Cute boutique shops, cafes and salons. There's just so much on this street it's an awesome place even just to walk around. If you want a lagree class that will challenge you but give you plenty of ways to build up your strength you have to check out MegaFit. Come try her class Wednesdays and trust me you'll thank me later. You won't find a better, more kinder, more beautiful, talented and strong woman as Mary. I've taken several of the instructors here and they are all wonderful women so you can't go wrong any day of the week. Perfect size studio as well. Not too many machines but not too little and they are perfectly spaced so you're not in someone's ear. Absolutely love it here and will forever be a regular. She got back to me right away and scheduled a free consultation, which made the whole process so easy. I've been training with her for a few months now and it's honestly been amazing. She really focuses on form and makes sure I'm doing each movement properly, which has given me a lot more confidence in the gym. As someone who used to dread working out, training with Amber has completely changed my perspective. She's motivating and supportive, but also makes the sessions fun because we always end up having good conversations while I workout. I look forward to our sessions. She really has changed my perspective on exercise and health! 10/10 would recommend!

We set up an appointment to do a consultation, and it was very helpful. I even asked not to see my weight at the time (LOL), and Amber was kind enough to take that silly request into consideration. I proceeded to train with her. During the few weeks I trained with her, the process was very smooth. I also appreciated having someone "correct" and fix what I was doing to ensure I was doing the workout correct. Amber really emphasized on form over "finishing" the workout. Also, I appreciated that she also took the time to focus on how I "felt" during the training process and made adjustments to my workouts, as needed. For example, I have difficulty doing a lot of workouts with squats, due to my knees, and Amber taught me how to "warm up" my knees. She also taught me a stretch I can do to help my upper back & shoulder pain. Scheduling-wise, I also liked having her personal number to schedule trainings with her. She also checked in every week to ensure our schedule was still on track or, if changes to the schedule needed to be made, it was easy to make such adjustments. I also appreciated the candid conversations we had regarding certain nutrition and other "fad diet" trends. I learned a lot from her! Overall, if you are looking for someone to train is, Amber is your person!
