It was a first time visit for myself, my friend and family. We celebrated my friend's birthday and as she stated it was a 10/10 for everyone. last night was the absolute worse experience EVER! This is my 2nd and final time being disappointed by Lacour, from the food to the nasty attitudes of the management staff! My family and I waited HOURS for salty and disgusting food. My steak was sent back and I still had to pay for it, management did NOT offer to remake it.. they took it from the table but left it on my ticket. Love it! It's located in Highland Village and there's inside and outside dining. The decor is so cute! I have been twice for brunch and would definitely go back. I need to try their dinner but I love brunch so much it's my go to. The food was tasty, hot, and served quickly. The drinks were delicious and generous. So he ordered the filet only because it was supposed to come with pommes Anna. How disappointing when it arrived with a bowl of roasted potato chunks. Now, the filet - mealy, weird tasting, almost livery. No idea what sub level grade meat this was. Just please do not order this dish. Actually, just don't go to this restaurant. She came back and placed the order and I didnt see her again until i requested her. I asked if the cobb salad comes with bacon. She said NO. If it were fair to rate solely on effort or seeing someone's attempt at bringing a dream to reality, I'd be happy to give La Cour a five star rating. It is obvious that someone poured their heart (and a lot of money) into making it such a comfortable and stylish restaurant. Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience. Though more French Creole than French, the menu seemed promising which is what drew us in. There was inevitably a lack of communication between the hostess and our server, because we weren't approached for quite some time. When we were approached, it was by Ty who we'd highly recommend! Our friend ordered the chocolate martini which came out rather quickly. It looked like a very light chocolate milk, in a very small martini glass. She sipped it and immediately winced. It was too overpowered with alcohol to sip and enjoy as a martini should be. We requested chowder, to which we were informed they were out of. We then ordered the lobster roll, to which we were informed they were out of. The third attempt was for a Duck Salad, to which we were informed they were out of. I eventually gave up and said I'd just stick with an appetizer. For the appetizer, we chose the half charcuterie plate and the boudin involved dish. The charcuterie plate came looking quite perplexing. The prosciutto wasn't quality; it was dark in color and impossible to chew. My wife ordered the grilled peach salad as her entree and our friend, the crustacean dish. The crustacean dish came out as a sauce covered, full size, intact, crab. The sauce it was covered in tasted no less or better than standard Buffalo sauce. The pasta served along with it was standard, boxed, spaghetti noodles with a creamy white sauce. My wife's salad was a little larger than what a standard half salad is any where else. The greens were fresh which is always appreciated. The peaches most assuredly weren't fresh and did not have any sort of flavor. Typically, a grilled fruit is packed with a sweet, charred, flavor. This one, definitely not. The other ingredients to the salad were nice, so we picked the peaches out and enjoyed the salad. We'd initially had our eyes on desert but by this point it was clear... someone has big dreams, aspirations and vision, but clearly needs help bringing it to life. I personally grew up in restaurateur household and understand how incredibly hard and exhausting it can be. (Not to mention a terrifying financial investment to begin with.) Based on the reviews from their earlier days to the most recent, in conjunction with our experience... I fear La Cour could be their own worst enemy. Atmosphere is important, but execution is everything. Patrons are there to eat. During this time of uncertainty with the supply chain, I'd highly recommend La Cour shift to a weekly or even daily menu to avoid future experiences like ours. I was indeed raised in the industry and completely understand that sometimes when it rains in the restaurant world, it doesn't just pour... it floods. As such, I'll definitely be back once more to give the place another shot! The best part was Ty. Atmosphere is great. Beautiful decor. Our server was nice. We had a party of 10 for brunch on a Saturday. When we arrived there was no one else seated to eat. It took over an our for our food to come, and when it did there were two plates missing. Supposedly they were needing more time to poach an egg? The wine ordered was clearly old and took sending it back 3x before they opened a new bottle. We were told to be quiet when we were chatting, waiting the hour for food. Arrive at the host stand on time, and before we are seated, the host states "just want to let you know beforehand that we have a reservation for 1pm at that table. Meaning the table he's about to seat us at. A generic 4-top booth, with at least several empty, identical tables right next to us. O-Kay. So I guess he doesn't want us to stick around too long and decides it's a good idea to let us know straight away. Very weird and off putting. I've never had a restaurant tell me something like that before. Especially when they are clearly not busy. I think we were the 5th table in the entire restaurant?? Server was nice enough, he tried, but was clearly inexperienced. Unable to give recommendations when asked about the menu. Weirdly kept trying to clear plates and glasses before we were through. My food was good, but barely lukewarm. We didn't dare ask for another drink as we felt rushed out of a mostly empty restaurant. Well appointed interior, but mostly show and no go. The french onion soup tasted, literally, like dirty water. No good flavor what so ever. Salads were ho-hum. Nothing special at all about the wedge salad. Mussels were 10 or so larger that often seen, but chewier that usual and with no broth or bread for dipping. Brick Chicken was OK, not spectacular. They comped us for the soups, but never expressed a bit of concern or remorse for serving such swill. We'll check back in 4 months. If they are still in business, then they must have improved, so we may try them again then. read more

Let me preface this review by saying I grew up in the restaurant and hotel industry. My family ran neighborhood restaurants and bakeries and Michelen star restaurants. So I am not a stranger to how this industry works. We are still in hotels and restaurants along the East Coast. I currently work in a local restaurant part-time serving so I am aware of what is going on in the service industry locally. When I arrived I said their would be two of us and mentioned we would take a table inside or outside. I was seated at a four top inside. My server was sweet and friendly. My bestie arrived and we ordered. We asked if a cheese could be switched out on an omelette . The server was uncertain and called the manager who was also unsure. The chef came out and explained that he had no spinach left and he had pre-mixed all the omelettes for brunch. He was sorry but he would be unable to make a fresh omelette with spinach and Gouda cheese. Then we were told that our table had been reserved for someone else would it be ok if we moved to another table. We moved to a two top outside, a new server arrives to put our order in which we have already given. At this point we have been in the restaurant one hour and 20 minutes. We asked to speak to the manager, he was nonchalant and did not see any issues with how the restaurant was operating. I told him "you don't see an issue with re-seating a table and the order not being put in?" He said we are a thriving business and we are booked you all were walk-ins. To end these walk-ins walked out and cancelled the order. I applaud the sweet server who tried. By the way no one took the table we were moved from it was empty when we left. So much for that reservation. Your business thrives when you treat people with dignity and respect. As my daddy would say "Learn that!" Had 6:45 reservations - waiter was sweet but didn't know the menu. Drinks took 30 minutes, seconds never arrived. Food was fine - burger was good and filet was not bad. Mixed vegetables were cold when they arrived but tasted good. Definitely overpriced for the meal we had. If they work the kinks out, will be a good place. A new restaurant in Highland Village,,an up scale well kept development (for Jackson). A relatively new place, so they're probably working out the bugs but they need to hear from serious diners, three of whom visited with me at lunch on Thursday. A nine minute wait just for a server to realize she had a table to work is the first problem. The hostess failed to notify the server. Bill had a tall burger, said it was 'very good.' Mark & my wife had salads, not a dish that takes much culinary talent... after all it's just a combination of seven or eight fresh items from the cold bar. I ordered the gumbo, and told the server that I was a 'gumbo critic' being a native of New Orleans. On a one to 10 scale it rates maybe a five. Five, as it was brothy and not a thick roux, plenty of common sausage slices, a few crawfish tails, maybe a shrimp or two. And lots of frozen okra. The rice was still tough in the center. Such a beautifully decorated new restaurant in Highland Village. Our entrees were the pork chop with brûlée sweet And redfish with potatoes and veggies. Both were fantastic. The pork chop may be a little salty for some people because it has a mustard sauce on it, but I thought it was delicious and my sweet potatoes helped to balance the flavor. The redfish was amazing. Presentation was beautiful. Here are two very small critiques, but absolutely not complaints. We booked a reservation. The restaurant was not very busy, but we were given a little small table in a more congested area when there were several more private booths available. Second, we ordered the small charcuterie. One of our cheeses looked like sandwich slices of cheese just ripped up. I would suggest a cheese with a better presentation for a charcuterie board since presentation is important for a charcuterie. Otherwise, great service. Beautiful place. Great food. Give them a chance. Remember they are new and everyone has some Bugs to work out at first. Enjoy! read more

We had 7pm reservations, the place was half empty. We sat for forty minutes and left. The hostess brought us water, the waitress took 20 minutes to show up and take a drink order, still no drinks 20 minutes later. Other tables looked dismayed. Two waiters carrying drinks in the small blue room next to us had no idea where they went. The effort looked disorganised and we saw no manager on the floor. Over the past weekend, I had the WORST experience with this restaurant. The service, professionalism, and quality of food were all severely lacking. On Saturday, I made reservations at LaCour for 8PM using the online booking site. I received a call from the hostess, Jaleyah, informing me that the restaurant closed at 9. I asked if we would be unable to be serviced at 8, and if we would be asked to leave the restaurant if we had not finished our meals by 9. We were told in all-but-professional terms that we would be permitted to finish our food, but it would be an inconvenience to the staff. Upon arrival, there were inconsistencies with the dress code rules. One of my male friends who had ripped jeans was permitted to enter the venue. One of my female friends was turned around and informed that her jeans were against policy. When attempting to checkin for our reservation, Jaleyah informed me that the kitchen and the venue would be closing by 9, lights would be turned on, music would be turned off, and we would need to prepare to exit the premises. This was not consistent with the information we received over the phone, and the hostesses' dismissive attitude coupled with the fact she obviously didn't want to be at work made for an unpleasant dining experience. Horrible customer service is an understatement. On Sunday, after attending an off site event that LaCour catered, I had another unpleasant experience. I paid $108 in advance for two plates. When I went to pick up the food, I was give one plate with skimp serving sizes, and was informed that it would need to be shared by two adults. Additionally, the food was cold, and there were no means of warming the food. It was obvious that the proper portions were not prepared for the event, and after paying more money for those two plates than I would have paid had I actually visited the restaurant, you can imagine my disappointment. Management did not properly reconcile the situation. I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

I recently dined here with my husband as we were in town for a wedding. I was initially excited to experience the vibe and try their brunch! As soon as we were seated it took about 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a waitress/waiter. We put our order in for the California Benedict and the Chicken Cordon Blue omelette with regular grits for both dishes.... Order comes out with cheese grits and hard stale biscuits. The fried chicken on top of my husbands omelette was clearly a day old (or longer) and not freshly fried, my California Benedict was not hot at all and neither were my grits not to mention the hollandaise sauce tasted like vinegar. I was very disappointed with my experience as it was TERRIBLY underwhelming especially since the prices for each dish is $20+. I hope they see this review and do better for future guests. We went for a late V-Day dinner last night. I had reviewed the restaurant and felt like we would be getting a fine dining experience based on the menu and prices. When we arrived I felt like it should have been more crowded for a weekend post V-Day night. Many empty seats (should have been a sign). The atmosphere didn't scream fine dining at all. Too well lit and the music was loud and far from French. We were going to order charcuterie but were advised by the waitress it wasn't the best (appreciated the honesty) so we ordered fried green tomatoes. They were just ok. The server seemed to indicate that they had changed menu and what we wanted they didn't even have (the pork belly). The blackened redfish was just ok. My husband just ordered the chicken which looked like something I could have made. The most flavorful thing we ate was the Brussels sprouts! We will not be back. We decided to try this place today. We were looking for breakfast/brunch. Menu looked promising. Creole dishes etc. walked in and we're seated right away. After about 10 minutes of waiting on our server the manager came over and introduced himself. He asked if our server had been over and I said she had passed by and told us she would be right with us. Meanwhile the manager came out with water and lemons for us. Finally she came over to take our order. I ordered a California something. It had crab, avacado and an eggs Benedict type of topping. My husband got a Creole omelette. After about 20 minutes the manager came over and noticed that we had not eaten and suddenly our food came out. My food was ice cold. My husbands food was a very small portion and he said he could hardly find the seafood. Very disappointing. We did have to ask for refills also. It was a very expensive, disappointing experience. 65.00 is too steep for mediocre service and food. I do not recommend. Save your $$$ read more

A very bad experience from entering restaurant to leaving. I ordered a Cobb Salad with chicken to go (over $20 with tip) and waited at the bar over 20 minutes before it came out of the kitchen. When I took it out of the box to eat, the salad was nothing more than spring mix lettuce, cheese that was the 2 tone shredded type from the grocery and very little else. I got 5 slices of cold chicken breast (the only reason I gave 2 stars - it was not seasoned, but good). The wait was really unforgivable as the restaurant was only half full at best, but the salad was the worst part. A salad at Wendy's would have been faster, better and way less money. read more
