    chicken francaise dinner
    Joe H.

My wife and I went here for a dinner back in July.I made reservations and we were seated in the back were the ac was on..It was a hot muggy night and we were glad we got to sit in a cool room. We had our server come within 5 min to take our orders.I had the chicken supreme with linguine and my wife ordered the chicken francaise. I will say I wasn't expecting great results but was happy with the quality of the dish. We were served fairly quickly and it was worth the wait!. my dish was a cream sauce with mushrooms and parsley.Your order will come with hot french bread which was also very good. My wife said she would definitely come back here again.

    Chicken spiedini

So recently my wife and I were out for a day of fun with my family and a couple of their friends, and we were trying to find a place to have dinner at. We thought of a few different local places and collectively chose to eat here. Now I've never been prior but have always heard decent things about here and how the food was always good. Well sadly I have to say that this was not the case. As per the two dishes that are shown (in the photos attached) the portions aren't terrible, that's that the case for the less than stellar rating. Mostly is comes from the lack of what felt like a desire to put out a killer dish from the kitchen. It felt as if just waiting for the initial salads that came with the entrees took the better portion of half and hour to almost 45 minutes. Not sure what the delay would have been seeing that it appeared the restaurant itself was not that busy with a large quantity of people. It seemed a disarray of plate sizes and consistency among the initial salads. When I went to move my plate to place on top of my wife's, (just to clear room on the table) it was noticeable the size difference between the two. Now I have to say that the chicken spiedini was alright, lacking a bit in the department of flavor and robust aroma. It felt more like a poor attempt to convert a chicken cordon bleu sans the breading and add in artichokes and what was supposed to be a brandy cream sauce. Well unfortunately the brandy cream sauce didn't hold up to what I would have expected. It seemed lacking the flavors of the brandy and the sauce was semi watered down, almost creating a "soup" like consistency. As for the dish as a whole it had a touch too much salt added to it, almost overpowering the other flavors. My wife had the baked ziti, and she said it was alright. When she showed me the interior of what was inside, it seemed they forgot to actually add enough sauce to keep the whole dish from drying out, as well as a lack of some serious ricotta cheese. Now I've been to a few different places that are Italian restaurants and this was probably lacking that certain appeal that draws you in. The wait staff seemed to be friendly. Just our waitress seemed to be in a bit of a rush running around and semi forgetful with being attentive to refills on drinks and such. I was actually surprised that they didn't offer the table a carafe (or two because of the party size) of water just so people didn't have to constantly ask about getting refills of water, or having I reach across the entire table for glasses. For a first time visit, I didn't find the experience that appealing. Or leaving me with wanting to return for a second go around. Hopefully they can actually fix some of the issues with the kitchen (food in particular) and overall dining experience.

We were not disappointed. We were seated promptly by our lovely hostess, and Shaun immediately came over to recite specials and to take our orders. He was attentive and we knew we were in good hands! We started with the Dr. Fox Cocktail: Angostura bitters, Bulleit Rye, Apple Liqueur, Dry Curacao, and Sweet Vermouth, which was perfect. It was accompanied by a hummus trio to spread on the bread. There was also a delicious foccacio. Next we were served a perfect salad, delicately dressed, and what made the salad so delightful was that the lettuce was torn into manageable pieces. A pet peeve of mine is large lettuce leaves that are difficult to wrangle, and this was not the case here. There were also tiny bits of cauliflower that gave the salad a nice texture and crunch.  I had the Stuffed Artichoke and my husband had Shrimp Gamberi on an Arugula salad. Both were substantial and beautifully seasoned. We had two glasses of an Argentine Tomero Malbec. It was a generous pour. For the main course, I had Polla al Limone (Lemon Chicken) over spinach. A simple dish done well. My husband had the Halibut special, a classic Mediterranean baked halibut with tomatoes, capers, and olives. So good that he finished it all...a rarity for him. (The halibut was pricey and it would be appreciated if the price was mentioned when the specials were gone over. Perhaps we should have asked.) We finished with a Sorbetto al Lampone, a tart raspberry sorbet in a dark chocolate shell and sliced.  And as we left, our sweet hostess brought over Lucianno, the most adorable puppy, to send us off with puppy kisses! We definitely will be back...especially for the wild boar ragu over pappadelles. One nitpicking observation. The entrance to the restaurant was a tad shabby. We mistook it for the service entrance. It needs to be spruced up to match the superb food inside!

Usually I like to pick what dishes are considered popular on Beli but I really wanted to try them, they're just too hot and not very satisfying to kick off your palate. The bread was okay, a little (very) messy and the hummus trio was cute but not necessary or particularly tasty. The pollo al limone and gamberoni e fagioli were good, a little dry but not a deal breaker. Service was nice, the place is pretty casual so I would recommend for a regular casual date night, it's not fine dining--the experience was nice but not luxurious. What I mean is it's cozy and inviting, not elegant and stuffy. Cheers!

Our table was in the same room as the bar but next to the fireplace. The bar doesn't have actual seating - they have tables in front of it which is nice and keeps the intimate, moody quiet vibe. It definitely had a romantic vibe with the fire, the lighting and lots of flowers throughout hanging from the ceiling. My only complaint is that there was a table with kids who were pretty noisy in the beginning. Not exactly what I was expecting for my Valentine's Day dinner but that's what I get for an early dinner! The food was excellent overall. We had a sense of what we wanted but then the server came over and told us the specials which threw us for a loop! I was dead set on getting pasta because Feast & Floret is known for their homemade pasta but we ended up ordering a few different plates: Quail Special - This was my first time ever having quail. The plate came out with 2 whole birds and to say I wasn't nervous would be a lie. It was a little salty (not sure if maybe it should be) but tender and delicious. It came with creamed Kale and nuts. Chilled Beets with Mint - Weird having with a hot meal but still so good. Butternut Squash Arancini -- A must try. You can taste a hint of butternut squash. It wasn't too overpowering. Affogato - The simplest dessert on the menu but worth it. Regarding drinks, try their Honey Old Fashioned. I'm not a whiskey drinker but always try my girlfriend's drink when we go out. Their Honey Old Fashioned was so good that it made me want to order one for myself! Feast & Floret also sells their own honey. Before we left to get to the show, I had asked about making our own bouquet. Grace, the florist, allowed us to pick what we liked and she arranged our bouquet

Didn't have a reservation but it was the middle of the afternoon so we were able to get a table right away. We were sat in a back room which is part of the dining room. We ended up splitting the Gorgonzola Stuffed Figs -- small bits for sure, but good for sharing. We also ordered the baked clams oreganata which was my favorite. I typically don't go out of my way for a Cosmo but started out with Ceil's Pear Cosmo - it was SO good. For dessert, I ordered their Valentine's special which was a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini. This didn't hit the mark for me with the strawberry chunks. I wish I had ordered another pear Cosmo. Savona's was not the overall vibe I wanted for Valentine's Day dinner so I am glad we came here the day after for lunch. This would be a great place for a big family dinner! Wait staff including Bernie were all super friendly.

My girlfriend had to ask 3 times for a steak knife and we were constantly begging for basic items like drinks and ketchup. The predatory billing practices here are shocking: 20% Automatic Gratuity: ok, this is not unusual for large groups in many resistant, but clearly explained why the staff felt no need to actually serve and take care of us. 10% "Living Wage Fee": A mandatory tax on the customer because the owner refuses to pay their staff properly! Never experienced this fee firsthand only saw it online. An absolute joke to expect us to give an extra 10% to your staff because you're not paying a reasonable salary! $30 Cake Slicing Fee: We brought a birthday cake. They stored it and brought it out, but we ended up taking it home without them ever touching or slicing it. They still had the nerve to charge us $30 just for the "privilege" of having it in the building. When we spoke to the manager about the 10% surcharge, he acted like we were the problem and talked about how they are trying to make a living. We were all asking ourselves why he's not paying them a fair salary?? why is it our responsibility to pay even more, particularly for poor service! The food is fair at best and wildly overpriced. Definitely go anywhere else as this place is an overpriced tourist trap with lousy service!
