Also really love their staff - they are so friendly while sitting outside in the heat. And their music this time was fire, we really loved the Shakira they had on. A fun place!

The employee was really kind in helping me choose the right drink, I told her I like bold, caramel-type flavors. She recommended on this warm day for the "most-popular" since its my first visit. The drink was beautiful at pick-up (so beautiful I forgot to take a photo!), and I got the hype: coffee flavor was bold, mixed perfectly with the milk, and the brown sugar + miso flavors were at the bottom that you mixed yourself. All the flavors worked, but nothing to TRULY go out of your way for. It was good though! Miso adds that "nutty, slight salty" flavor like a "salted caramel" would do. Completely enjoyed!

The staff clearly recognized quite a few customers during the short time I was there to do a quick grab and go of caffeine. The staff was super friendly and took their time in helping me pick out a bag of beans based off my personal preferences and intent of use (cortados/lattes vs drip/press). Their beans are well priced at around $14 a bag AND you get a complimentary drip coffee with the purchase! I felt like a winner! I also gave their canned lemonade and coffee drink a try - because why not? It had a unique and almost chocolatey flavor. Not sure if I loved it personally, but the quality of the ingredients and flavors were distinctly there. Certainly will take the time to come back to test out the space for a remote work day or a casual outing. Big plus: They have a parking lot and the option of indoor and outdoor seating. Third Coast has become my 'daily driver' for espresso, as their beans offer the best combination of quality, value, and service. El Guapo has been the top choice so far with classic caramel, chocolate notes and a nice syrupy mouthfeel. Every bag has been consistently-roasted and quick to dial-in. Third Coast has so far resisted the insane shrinkflation that has affected many coffee options. As a comparison, local roaster Greater Goods is nearly 2x more expensive, and Third Coast is better. This is the best value in high quality espresso in Austin...and maybe across the US. Highly-recommended!

But not so terrible that I would never come back. The staff is really nice and attentive, and they have delicious pastries near the front of the bar as well. There is plenty of seating and charging outlets so you can continue to use your computer, or tablet as needed. It's also in a really cool location with pretty art outside. My recommendation to the staff would be to amplify the syrup flavoring just a tiny bit more on their special drinks. Other than that things are great!

Bad news...this coffee company sells coffee by the pound not lattes (hence the name). Good news... they sell drip coffee for $2.00 + tax. What a deal! This family owned shop has been roasting beans locally since 1972 and focuses on helping customers brew excellent coffee at home rather than serving coffee drinks on premises. According to the store manager, Mr. Anderson occasionally comes into the store. The selection of freshly roasted beans is rather larger, with store favorites like Guatemala Antiqua, Dark Sumatra and Arabian Mocha cited as most popular. Coffee cost on average $19 per pound. In addition to coffee, the store carries loose leaf teas, mugs, candy, cards, coffee pot sweaters, brewing equipment, and small other gift items, to name just a few items. I was totally and completely enamored with this store. They had so many trinkets and interesting items, you literally could peruse for hours. Captivating environment...Loved it...

If you make espresso at home, picking up beans in person is recommended. The mail order subscription is a good option with many roasters, but Talisman's operation doesn't seem great. Shipping lead time looks to be about a week or more, which is days slower than the competition. With a $7 shipping charge on a local order, I expected better. I would prefer to cancel the order and buy the beans I need now for home brewing, but Talisman printed the label quickly to trigger a "shipped" status without actually shipping the order. USPS still doesn't have it. Great shop, less than impressive mail order business.
