Love their pupusas. My children love chicken and cheese. I would recommend beans no cheese and spinach. Sometimes their beans inside the pupusas taste burnt so I get a side of beans. I would skip their seafood soup as they skimp on the seafood but everything else on the menu is generous. read more

Went here for birthday lunch (around 1 on a Saturday) and it hit the spot. The place was packed but we snagged the last table. After we were seated, a line formed at the door so get there early. As a Latina, I thought the food was flavorful and authentic. I had the molcajete, which was good but the nopal in this dish wasn't my favorite. Pupusas were delicious and the rest of our group ordered maduros, and the carne asada which were also great. Definitely planning to come back! read more

La Cabaña - Molcajete with handmade Tortillas - Honduran Near Me - Seattle, Washington

The pupusas are amazing here! Definitely larger than the ones I'm used to in SoCal, but I am not complaining! We ordered the chorizo and cheese, chicken and cheese, and chicharron and cheese, molcajete, a couple tacos, and roasted chicken with soup. My favorite was the chorizo and cheese pupusa. I would definitely stick to ordering either the pupusas or their other entrees only. We ordered way too much food for two people lol. Folks here are nice and the food came out promptly. Definitely will be returning. read more

Wow what fast, delicious, and unique food! My friend and I were craving something south of the border for lunner one day and were excited to find La Cabana nestled in a neighborhood we had been to before and adjacent to a place we had previously been to for trivia night. We were both like "how did we miss this gem?!" Anyway there is a parking lot right next to the restaurant with ample spaces and this place is no secret. Tons of people poured in for both dine-in and takeout while we were here at 4pm. My friend and I shared a Salvadoran pupusa (a must!) And I had something pictured here that I don't remember the name of...but it was memorable in my food bank for sure! I look forward to coming back here to try out other menu items in the future. Service was quick and friendly! read more

Authentic scene and a gem in Seattle. I had heard many great things about this place, and they deserve the praise. The food is fresh, flavorful, and vibrant. It's clear things are made from scratch here and ingredients are sourced fresh. Compared to more well-known, frequently rated (and probably necessarily expensive and more generic) Hispanic restaurants around Cap Hill where I live, this place is a hidden yet not hidden gem. I had a bean and cheese pupusa, generously slathered in sauce provided at the table. The outside was crispy and buttery, and the inside was steaming hot with a wonderful mix of fillings. The pollo guisado (El Salvador) was a melt-in-mouth stew of dark meat chicken, potatoes, and carrots - somehow it was light yet rich at once. The chicken fell right off the bone and was absolutely decadent. The rice side was also very buttery and flavorful, with just a light hint of garlic. And the whole thing came with a plate of house made tortillas. Definitely give this place a try if you get the chance! read more

We placed an order to go on a Wednesday night and were told that the food would be ready in 20 minutes. Normally pupusas take more than 20 minutes so we were pleasantly surprised to walk in on a busy night and was able get our order without waiting and got back to our place with the food still hot. It was delicious! Tamales so moist and flavorful, pupusas still cheesy hot and the cortido and sauce compliments nicely. We also go the refried beans and plantains which were so good! Sorry no pics we were so excited to eat! Yes we will be back again! read more

I'd heard a lot of talk about this place from folks in the area so I finally had to stop by. Crazy how man times I've driven by but never stopped in. This places needs some more love!! I grabbed the plate, but my dad got the fried chicken and that seemed like the start of the show. Flavors were great, sauces add great flare, and service was spot on. Need to come back here and try more of the menu! read more

La Cabaña - Carne Asada (Honduras) - Honduran Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Passed by this family owned Central American food restaurant numerous times but never got to try it until couple weeks ago. My husband and I tried a few dishes, everything was quite filling! I ate the flan dessert first as it arrived first. It wasn't too sweet and melts in your mouth. I think that was my favorite thing all night Lol. We also ordered chicken and cheese pupusas, quesadilla (with a side of guac), a single beef taco and Entree Bandeja their popular dish, which consist of carne asada beef, rice, eggs, avocado, pupusa and beans. Oh, I was surprised how much food there were! We were so full after eating just like 1/3 of everything, had enough leftovers for lunch for 2 next day. Even though we ordered for 2, it was enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. It was a lot of carbs, would be nice to have some more vegetable dishes on the menu. Service was great, the server explained to us what the dishes were and where it originated from. We'll come back with the kids next time. read more

Went there for lunch with my son. We had pastelitos that were just ok. I probably won't get those again. Then I got the bistec encebollado and it was outstanding. The boy got tacos. He was very happy. The service was prompt and attentive. The place was clean and seats about 25 or so. Tables and booths. Off street parking. Full bar. A definite go again. read more

Pollo Frito (Honduras) The dish is made with a quarter of a chicken deep fried served with slices of green banana, pickled cabbage and our special dressing. @grayseas Thanks for recommending it. Fantastic food and fantastic service! We ordered the pastelitos, pupusas, and the bistec encebollado. All were big portions and super delicious. The sauces were also very good! We also had a michelada that was one of the best I've ever had! This is one of the only places in the area to get Central American food and they do it so well! We can't wait to come back and try more menu items! The owner is also a super nice guy from Honduras! read more

This place is absolutely one of the best restaurants in Seattle. No one even try to argue with me about it. The Taquitos are perfectly flavored, and crispy with cabbage slaw juices that make it even more spectacular. I couldn't replicate it even if I tried. The chicken and cheese pupusas also have a flavor punch. They seem larger than other places and also have a creamy taste. The rice & beans...I've never craved rice and beans in my life. These rice and beans have changed my life. They look like they might not have much flavor, but boy will they prove you wrong. Always get a side if it's not included with whatever you order. Lastly, the carne asada and homemade corn tortillas. Cooked perfectly and tastes great without any sauces. The corn tortillas are on the thicker side which I really like, and are served warm, soft, and fluffy. I look forward to trying the whole fried tilapia and hot corn/condensed milk drink next time I visit. read more

La Cabaña has a pretty unassuming façade and an interior to match that both tempered my expectations as I sat down for what's rated as 4.5 stars on Yelp as I write. The service was friendly and attentive from the jump. My party of three ordered a variety of items from the menu. It was disappointing to learn that they don't fry their own tortilla chips in house, but their homemade tortillas were what we'd come to expect as the star of the show, so we deferred judgement with our chips and guac appetizer. When the mains came, they were flavorful and distinctive as Central American dishes which was refreshing - Mexican and Cuban places feel like they dominate the landscape in Seattle when it comes to Latin American restaurants. The mains were solid. I enjoyed the rarity of the experience more than I found the dishes to be truly great, and that's okay! It's a good place worth taking the time to visit. read more

There's so much that I can say about La Cabaña but let's keep it short and sweet! This place is so delicious and flavorful! read more

Best Central American in Seattle HANDS DOWN! I've dined at La Cabana many times, every time is excellent! The staff are always exceptional. There is a reason this place is always packed. My insider tip is to go for breakfast, the breakfast items are great and usually the crowd is a bit lighter. Price can really vary here from quite cheap to very expensive depending on what you get. If you get tacos or any of the al a cart options you'll probably find yourself on a lower end of price where as the full meals are a bit higher in price but I think are worth it in quality and size. Each meal could easily feed two. My first time in, my friends and I wanted to try everything so we got appetizers and we each got a meal and we were all sooooo full and had tons of leftovers. My favorite thing is the carne asada, so much flavor and perfectly cooked. I love that the menu has such a diverse range of regional specialties you won't find anywhere else in Seattle. If you're new to this type of cuisine I beg you to go beyond your comfort zone and try something new. You will be rewarded! read more

I accidentally stumbled along this gem when I was taking bus 40, and I'm so glad to get a chance to try this place! First impression is a lot of locals dine in here and is a full house on Sunday, with 2 waitresses managing all the tables. Most of the customers are Latinx, which means that this place likely is authentic! I got the Plato Guanaco which has a little bit of everything, which is excellent for solo dining without breaking the wallet to order many entrees with tons of leftovers. However, this plate is huge! It can feed 2 people easily, consisting of a pupusa of your choice, tamale of your choice, pastelitos, yuca and chicharron, fried plantain, pico de Gallo, and pickled slaw for the pupusa. I really enjoyed each of these, but I liked the pastelitos, chicharron, and fried plantains the most. Pupusas are solid but a little bit too watery, and an order in itself wouldn't be worth it. The pickled slaw that comes with it pairs really well, and it is not super tangy compared to other places. The yuca is quite interesting as it reminds me of french fries but with more local, organic ingredients. Chicharron is crunchy, a little dry but well seasoned. Fried plantain has a nice char flavor with a slight crispness. Not really a fan of tamales due to sogginess but this one is made decently well. Pastelitos are also a little dry but very well seasoned. The outer shell is very crispy, and the chicken inside is well seasoned which makes it a very savory item. I wouldn't dock a star for dryness as they do have sauces that are likely meant for these items, but I like to savor the food as is, with iced water to quench my thirst. From what I see around, these plates are pricey but gigantic, so overall the meal in itself is not expensive at all; plan for leftovers or bring a friend to share a plate - this place is worth a try even though it's far out from the city! read more

La Cabaña - Plato Guanaco (El Savador) - Honduran Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I thouget this place was fantastic. My first visit here, ordered bandeja centroamericanna. One star downgraded for the very overdone meat selection on my bandeja centroamericana. I did enjoy all the side variations .Those sides were great, but the meat was stringy and tough. My partner loves fish as I do, so also added the Camerones Ranchero with corn tortillas. The tortillas appeared to be home, so lovely. The Camerones came with a spicy mix of bell peppers, tomatoes and onions all in a delicious tomato sauce with rice. Came with a side of green salad. Since I loved this place, I came back for sopa de res, the taste of beef and oxtail in this soup is fantastic. Was hungry, so ordered the Plato Guanaco to get a taste of unfamiliar dishes. Im a sucker for cornmeal, so chorizo pupusa and chicharron combo was my favorite of dishes. I also ordered the flan for dessert. It was creamy and Caramel tasting, the perfect end to a great dinner. I think the one star off, is for the staff inability to be able to help me through the menu. I understand language limitations. I just would have tried more food if it could be explained more to me. Possibly well done meat is a plus here, but i have difficulty with digesting tough dry meat. Did feel slightly out of place due to my lack of experience with this cuisine. A learning experience for me and thought the overall experience was positive and delicious. read more

La Cabaña is such a hidden gem of Seattle. The portions are huge and the food is so delicious. Highly recommend the corn tortillas - they are heavenly. I've eaten here a few times and every time I leave full and satisfied, with some leftovers. My go-to order is the El Casado, but honestly everything is delicious, including their huge pupusas. The service is great too. I went with a friend who has a severe shellfish allergy and they were great about making sure her order was safe for her to eat. Added plus is that we've never had to wait for a table. Definitely check out this place if you're in North Seattle read more

Best burrito in Seattle. We moved out of town and this is always our first stop when we visit

Went there last night. The food was great, but the service was like amateur night. Examples: Once our order was taken, we almost never saw our waitress and getting any wait staff attention was difficult. We ordered appetizers and main dishes, but the appetizers came out at the same time or after the main meals. If it is your first visit, try the combo plate called Plato Guanaco. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle - and everyone I have taken here has agreed with me after they try it. Get that Bandeja Centroamericana if you're hungry and want variety - but you literally cannot go wrong on this menu everything is amazing. They just dont miss. The entrees are expensive and they should be for the volume of food you get but you can absolutely walk in and get two pupusas and be full, and they're like 4 bucks each or something. No joke - Everything about this place is a 10/10 including the staff. read more

I come here for the pupusas, coffee and pastelitos. They have never disappointed. Love the place.

H O L Y. G U A C A M O L E. I tend to judge a restaurant with the TTT test: T acos T amales T ortilla chips And to put things bluntly, La Cabaña beat the living snot out of the triple T test, crushed it up into a ball and rocketed it out back into outer space right back into the moon's celestial orbit. If that didn't get the message across, here's my final verdict: T IMELESS T ASTY T EN OUT OF TEN STARS !!! read more

A small unassuming spot in the heart of Greenwood, La Cabaña is serving up some authentic Central American dishes! My friend and I started out with the appetizer sampler to try a little of everything. And damn it's a lot of food! The pupusas and empanadas here are unreal All the other dishes are so flavorful and balanced out with the sides that provide a nice contrast with the acidity. The service was fantastic and sincere and the food...well let's just say I didn't want to put my fork down. The portions are large.
