While I was walking through Nordstrom and looking at handbags I stumbled upon Anastasia Beverly Hills' section of the store. I was being shy and would have walked right past it but one of the girls there approached me & gave me a business card. I stashed it in my purse and honestly, did not plan on making an appointment. A week went by and I still had Anastasia on my mind like she was a high school crush, so I had to call and book an appointment. When I arrived I was greeted by the very friendly estheticians working there and felt right at home. Becca gave me a breakdown of where by brows should start, end, and arch. We talked extensively about hair, waxing, eyebrows, and Memphis. I was very happy with the time and attention she put into my brows. I also purchased a new eyebrow pencil sharper that was very reasonably priced for the quality I got @ $6. I booked my next appointment and left very happy. I can't wait to go back for my next wax. These girls made me want to start waxing and forgetting about razors or threading all together, but then I came to my senses and realized I've got to take baby steps. We are working on my brow shape right now. I couldn't be happier with Anastasia.

I'll start with the good…read more I saw a promotion to be a model for their new plasma laser offerings. I didn't think that I would actually get picked, but (surprisingly) I did! I got both hot and cold plasma done to renew my skin texture and tighten and also to remove some dark spots. I thought the cold plasma was slightly more painful during the process, but I'm not sure how strong my pain tolerance is. Overall, it was still very tolerable, however. There was minimal peeling from the cold plasma, and the results were amazing. My pores were smaller, my skin was more even, and people were noticing left and right. The hot plasma had a more difficult healing process. There were little dot scabs everywhere. I got extremely self conscious and read a bunch of stuff on the Internet that made me nervous of scarring, etc. In the end, it all turned out great and my fears were unfounded. Now the bad. I have been considering getting my brows done for YEARS. I finally decided to come in and had them done by Jessica. She is the sweetest ever. However, it was a complete fail for me. For the first session, I wasn't 100% happy with the draw, as one side was a bit wonky, but I was assuring myself that it was more about a more "natural" look and unevenness was okay. My main issue is that the tattoo did not hold. As the lines started peeling off, there was almost no color underneath. It was like they disappeared. They were so slight in color and blotchy. It was like I had gotten nothing done. I expressed my concerns and was told that it would be fixed during the touch-up, but for me, I didn't need a touch up. I needed a redo. On my follow-up appointment, Jessica said that she might have made them too light in color and that's why they faded immediately. She redrew them, and this time I LOVED the shape. She used a darker color and my brows were PERFECT. I was so happy. However, like a week later, the color was almost gone again. I mean, the color lasted like 10% better than the first time, but you literally can't tell I got it done. I'm still filling them in as I always did before this procedure, and the point of getting this done is so that I wouldn't have to do this. In my case, it was an utter failure. I've seen social media posts where they are touching up client brows a year later, and they look better than mine a week/month out. The only reason I'm justifying the money I spent on the failed brows is because I got the plasma as a model. I'm glad others have had great experiences with their brows, but this just wasn't the case for me.

Every time I had to go back the next day or 2 to get them removed. My friends say nowadays there's better options, technique and sensitive glue available. I found sumi and saw their new client promo price ($55 for a regular full set) and decided to try them since it would be a low price risk in case I have a reaction. There was some confusion over the new promo price with the first girl telling me after my first set it would be $95, then my tech telling me that for what I wanted today it would be $95. She was able to explain and clarify the promo so today's set was $65 because the 2 tip hairs was +$10. Great. I knew I wanted a very natural, light feel with adding just a bit of volume as my lash line is light and cannot hold much (also having sensitivity). I learned from experience. My tech showed me the lengths and it was go time. I knew how simple of a style and shape I wanted based on how I wear my strip lashes. The best part of my experience is that she only took about 35 minutes to apply my extensions, that's what I'm talking about! I know my set is not as dramatic or voluminous but it came out really great and so far they feel comfortable. I really hope they last and don't give me problems the next days ahead. Regular (signature sumi) full set: 2 tips, natural C curve, 9-11 mm, cute style I hope they do well so I can come back for a fill in the next few weeks. What would be nice, especially for those who are on the table for 1 hour(s)+ are either rolled blanket or towels /pillows for under the knees while laying down. It helps with comfort.
