It's a week or so of healing after my touch up since getting my brows done. I did prefer the look of the first time I had my brows. But it seems my right eyebrow is closer to the middle, still lighter up top and no longer ombré. Which I'm concerned cause I those the touch up would fix the small issues from the first one. Also when it healed the first time the top part of my right brow was much lighter because there isn't hair to hold the scab longer as it healed. I mentioned to Claire that it still looked light after the touch up. She said she went over it. It still looks lighter as it's healing. I did contact her to explain the length day after touch up. So when it's fully healed, which takes another week or so, I'll contact again for a solution. Four stars cause I thought I was done after my first touch up. I am so happy I found Claire! I was contemplating getting microblading for a while now but I was too scared to take the plunge. I always thought that "eyebrow tattoos" like the ones my mother's generation got were all way too melodramatic and sadly, they would eventually turn red or blue as it fades. But, I kept hearing people talk about microblading, a semi permanent tattoo that is made with fine hair strokes so it looks super natural, unlike its sharpie like cousin. I started "researching" which basically meant I started following #microblading on Instagram and eventually started following my favorite microbladers in LA. One of these people was Claire (brows.by.claire). I kept looking at her before and after photos and I really loved each client's eyebrows! On my birthday I decided to treat myself. I would at least reach out to see what the procedure entailed. From the first time I communicated with Claire to my second touch up, she was always professional and friendly. She's such a natural communicator. The first time I went to her, it was at another location and she told me she would be moving by the time I came back for my touch up. I drew in my eyebrows the way I usually wear them so she could see how I like them. The procedure is sectioned off into two sessions - the main session and a touch up session a couple weeks after to fill in any patches since everyone's eyebrows heal differently. She walked me through each step and I was laying on the bed while we chatted about life and eyebrows (lol) and she drew out the shape I had described to her. I okayed it, she numbed me, and I barely felt anything! It almost felt like those eyebrow razors that people use to shape their eyebrows on the go. I'm not sure how else to describe it but it was very minimal pain. In fact I barely felt anything. Afterwards, Claire told me how to care for it and gave me some cream. The healing process takes a lot of patience. It was really hard for me not to itch or touch my eyebrows but in the end, it healed fine. I just visited her second location for my touch up session. The location is nice although slightly hard to find since the parking lot entrance is off Coronado (not 8th). Otherwise, it was just as nice and friendly as I had remembered. Claire filled in my eyebrows. This time I felt a bit more pain and she numbed me a bit more and then I was good to go. The touch up session was a lot faster (about an hour, and the first session was more like 2 hours). Once I heal completely I will update with progress photos. Claire is great! I highly recommend her. She's worth every penny! I've gotten my eyebrows microbladed at two other places and wasn't completely happy with them. I realized I didn't really like the microblading look on me. I decided I wanted to try the ombré/powder look. I looked at Claire's Instagram page, liked her style and decided to try her out. My first session was in January. Claire was very thorough and detailed. She had me send pictures before I made my appointment to make sure I was a good fit. She really took her time with my eyebrows, which I appreciated. She told me that since my skin is a little oily, ombré powder is better suited for me. I liked the way my eyebrows came out. They were a little lighter than I wanted, but that's what a retouch appointment is for! My touch up appointment was scheduled for March and then COVID-19 happened. She was very understanding that I didn't feel comfortable coming in - this was right before everything shut down. I ended up having to reschedule twice, once due to lockdown and once due to my potential exposure to COVID-19. Both times she was very responsive and communicative. Keep in mind that she hasn't been working for months and she basically wasn't going to make any money off of me. The cost of the retouch is not much. Yet, she still took the time to reach out to me and make sure my retouch session is scheduled. Finally I was able to get my retouch done in September and I love my eyebrows! They are just the perfect shade - not too dark and not too light. Although she's moved to Cerritos and she's far from me, I plan on going back to her at the end of 2021 to get an annual retouch. Claire is the bomb! I got the ombre powder brows and they turned out perfect! It is now a month after my touchup and they look very soft and natural. I had initially wanted the combo brows, but during our 1st appointment, Claire recommended the powder brows and I'm so glad we went with it. I love Claire, she is very skilled at how to draw eyebrows and her ombré eyebrows on me came out flawless!!! She takes time to walk through every step in what eyebrow look you want.
