The food is made with the freshest ingredients, from the fresh anchovies to the fresh salads and vegetable tapas. The fried calamari are excellent, as are the zucchini tapas. They also have excellent Spanish wines, many from the vineyards close to Sevilla. The staff are always in a hurry because it does tend to get busy here (a testament to the delicious food), but they're very helpful. read more

I am gluten free (Celiac) and vegan. This has been so difficult in Spain because all vegetable based dishes have been so bland. La Bartola clearly labels all dishes to allow one to make dietary choices. Hubby had fried squid and grilled beef with potatoes, which he loved. I had a cooked veggie dish that was bursting with flavor. I was also given gluten free bread that was delicious dipped in the sauce from my veggie dish. We shared a yummy chocolate panna cotta (vegetarian, not vegan). We both agreed this was the best meal we've had this whole trip. read more

Came here twice during our two day stay in Seville, because it's just that good of a restaurant! Fair prices and generous portions I recommend the stewed pork cheek , melts in your mouth! Fried calamari is also quite good, not too heavy read more

Amazing tapas. Read reviews before going and it did not disappoint! We had the calamari, spicy hot wok, tomato soup, beef with potatoes, and vegetarian sushi I would highly recommend all of them!!! My favorites two were calamari and spicy hot wok, but all yummy! Must try if in Seville :) read more

The male waiters' customer service and attitude were horrible. He did not want to help, period. Also, when we received a bill, he included a service charge. We've been to many many restaurants and bars in Spain, and there never was any kind of service fees like this included in the bill. We asked what it was, and he stated for his time and his work service fee. I do not recommend this place. read more

The best tapas in Spain!! The staff works hard to insure great service and great food!! Five stars is not enough!!

Tempers did not lie, this is a truly wonderful place. The tapas we tried were all delicious. We ordered the jamon, zucchini, calamari and croquettes. We ended up with the caramelized apple and chocolate mousse. They are all good. read more

Favorite bar in spain. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I've tried almost everything on the menu and its so great. The service is next level. If you come between 4-7:30pm there will be more bartenders and waiters than customers. Nicest group of people you could meet. Just wish I could speak more Spanish!!!! Made my study abroad such an amazing experience. Highly recommended. read more

Amazing food and a great price I have eaten here before and it just doesn't disappoint on any level read more

Great service, food is delicious! We enjoyed the tints de verano as well. Highly recommend!

Just got into Seville, cked into hotel around corner and found this spot. Great welcome to city. Gazebo out of this world. Tapas great. Sangria was good and refreshing given some 35C temps. read more

This place had amazing croquetas de pimientos which I'd never tasted before. Creamy and crunchy and yummy. We also had a pumpkin soup which was rare to find cause i haven't seen many restaurants that offer hot soup and it was also delicious. We ordered the pork cheeks which came with came with mash potatoes and were also amazing and lastly we ordered the cous cous lamb which was my favorite dish. read more

The tapas are incredible here! Salmon, swordfish, caponata (roasted veggies), olives are delicious as is the service. We came here twice because the food was so amazing. I will return and tell everyone I know to come here. Delicious! read more

Very small and busy. Great food though. Humus was excellent. Beef and potatoes tapas was great. We went back a second time.

After an adventurous cab ride through tight and narrow streets we arrived at La Bartola hungry and thirsty for some sangria. Our order: -The Wok with Pork & Vegetables (favorite menu item of the night) this was packed with flavor and had a great Asian flare. Had we had room we likely would have ordered a second. The tapas size is generous for 2 to Share with other tapas. -Croquettes: also really delicious. A half order came with 8 which was plenty for us. -Ricotta Stuffed Squash Blossoms: these were good but not great. A little on the bland side, which I know ricotta tends to be bland anyways. -Calamari: not worth ordering or writing home about. Take a pass on this. -Chocolate Panna Cotta: absolutely delicious. Light creamy and heavenly chocolate goodness. Definitely thought about ordering a second.... All in all, definitely worth a stop. Had we had room left we probably would have ordered a couple more tapas to try but the jet leg got the better part of us and we called it a night. read more

We were worried about lunch on a Sunday, especially in January. A lot of places seemed to be closed without notice, I assume for the winter off season? And lots of places closed on Sunday. We got to La Bartola right when it opened at 12 and were pleased that it was open when it said it was, and got a warm welcome from staff. This was the most modern ambiance of any of the tapas places, surprisingly all the fusion places still looked very traditional to me, but this was a bit more modern. It's a lovely airy space with the big windows open so even inside it feels like outside. Menus in English and Spanish, and a good selection of wines and sherries by the glass. I really enjoyed my vegetarian options including a special of the day, an eggplant caponata and cheese plate. My meat eating companion got the pork cheeks and said they were good but not the best of the trip, but enjoyed the rest of his dishes, in particular the special of the day. Dessert was delicious and innovative, a lemon creme with crunchy bits and a gin and tonic jello/jelly (US/UK translation there) top which was a vivid blue. read more

Outstanding and inexpensive tapas restaurant. If I lived in Sevilla I could eat here every day.

Great place for unconventional tapas! We had the zucchini dumplings, tuna tartar, tempura sushi, shrimp ceviche and arroz rojo! Everything was so beautifully presented, and with options for tapa sized, 1/2 racion or full ración, there are great options for groups and sharing. Definitely worth a visit while in Seville! read more

Really good quality food and great service...must get dishes are the prawn ceviche and salmon tartar (slightly too salty) but went well with the beer and breads provided. Coffee and cheesecake was the cherry on top of this meal. Must visit spot! Also has free WiFi =) to check for your next plans. read more

So. Good. Seriously, we enjoyed this place so much that we returned for a second meal in our limited few days in Seville. We had gotten to the point where another tapas bar serving up jamon and deep-fried things was starting to turn our stomachs -- it was delicious the first number of days, but we needed something different and this place delivered. The food was reasonably priced, wait staff was friendly and there were lots of interesting things to choose from. The waiter's "Yes we Cana" t-shirts were a reference to Obama's campaign slogan as well as referring to the term for a small can of beer. read more

food is quite good but the service flow should be reconsidered to make sure every customer not waiting too long.

Local place serving tapas with fresh ingredients and choice of sizes, tapas, 1/2 portion or entree. There was a large selection but we were tempted and ordered so many items to sample. From calamari, steak, stir fried veg, salmon, etc. I would recommend tapas or 1/2 portions so that you have room to try several of their dishes. The food was tasty and fresh. Service was good. If you're looking for a casual and relaxed dining setting, this is it! read more

This place is tiny and fills quickly. We had great timing and were sat immediately. We did several tapas to share and everything was delicious. Service was nice and quick. Would definitely come back if I am in Seville again. Wonderful lunch or early evening meal. read more

Literally around the corner from our hotel was this tiny but excellent restaurant. Clearly the staff is used to us yelpers coming by because we walked by holding the phone and looking confused and she asked us if we were looking for La Bertola. Yes we were, and glad we found it. Slightly off the beaten path of most of the tourist streets, and food more fusion than traditional, but absolutely delicious and a good bargain at that. Minus half a star (4.5) for slightly lackadaisical service at the end of the meal, but the remainder more than made up for it. read more

This place was a huge surprise for us. The food was amazing. I was expecting it to be decent bar food but was blown away. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely walked away from here with great memories. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

In the hood and so good. Fresh. Straight forward. High local to international tourist ratio.

One of the best meals I've had in Spain. We had 8 tapas sized dishes, and 5 drinks, the total was €45. Great price for the amazing quality. Service was great and the staff was very warm and hospitable. Of all the dishes our top three were: 1. Zucchini blossom filled with ricotta. 2. The lightly fried cod/zucchini stacked dish with a pimenton aoli. 3. The ahi tuna tar tar. I'm finding it very difficult to adventure out to a new spot during my short stay in Sevilla, I really want to go back to La Bartola. read more

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! They have a pretty welcoming staff on Spanish standards and have AMAZING FOOD. Everything tastes and looks fresh with vibrant colors! This is a great place if you enjoy vegetables with simply delicious seasonings and sauces. I haven't found any other tapas bar that has such a great selection of vegetable tapas. read more

Ceetainly one of the best meals I've had in Spain. They have vegetarian and meat options which are both delicious. This seems to be a tall order at times for tapas, as some places are fairly meat-predominant. Service was great and the staff was very warm and hospitable. The zuchinni blossom filled with ricotta and zuchinni "dumpling" which was actually well cooked zuchinni wrapped around fillings were delicious. I loved the almond soup and fried cod, but someone in my group found the almond soup a little plain although not bad. Great prices and the best service. Definitely a highlight of my vacation to Spain. read more

My husband and I came here around 1pm for lunch and grabbed a table right away. An hour later, the place was definitely packed. The service was excellent and the food was even better! The Iberian ham, zucchini flowers wit ricotta, grilled calamari, and cod fritters were phenomenal. We plan to go again during our 4 day stay in Seville since it's a 5 minute walk from our hotel. You don't want to miss this place if you're looking for some great eats. read more

Delicious tapas. Some of the dishes were fusion tapas with a modern twist but with essential Andalusian elements. Service was friendly and fast. Close to many hotels and not touristy. This was our first dinner spot in Seville. We went in August so a lot of the highly rated restaurants were closed (owners on vaca). La Bartola seemed to pack quite a lot of people (as well as the restaurant across from it). The menu small, and cheap, so my boyfriend and I ordered about 5 tapas plates (more than enough for 2 people). Both of us weren't particularly blown away by the food. All the plates were just okay.A few days later into our vacation, we decided we both did not like tapas! - Stuffed mushrooms: okay - Chicken croquettes: disgusting! it tasted like they ground up the feathers along with the meat - Chicken fajita: good compared to the rest - Fried shrimp: were these frozen and then reheated? - Friend chicken: okay read more

What a great little place! Did some research before and found out it was really close to our hotel so decided to pay a visit. So glad we did. Really simple and clean decor and attentive service from the moment we walked in. The menu is written on a chalk board on the wall so we had to really think about what we wanted. We ordered a mixture of tapas and medium plates and every one of them was delicious. We ordered quite a few things, which I have posted pics of, as well as a couple of glasses of wine and dessert and the bill still came to under €50 in total. Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby in Sevilla. read more

Ahhh, the food here is delish!!! Flavors that pip. Decor and ambiance are cute. Service very good. Great sangria.

Okay spot for dinner but for the price and lack of organization, I'd probably rather have tried somewhere else. At best, this was an unorganized restaurant with an overwhelmed waiter (one for the over 20 guests not at the bar), at worst, it is a tourist trap. Food (we had two of the specials- wok picante which had no detectable spice and baby calamari which were well done) was underwhelming. I suggest they keep a waiting list if they want to continue to keep people waiting - and returning. read more
