Ordered the Mole enchiladas, which I would have wished the chicken itself was covered with mole, but instead it was a shredded chicken/ tinga/ salsa chicken stuffed in the tortillas, then some mole sauce covered the top. Still tasty overall, just would have been better to not have the two flavors clashing. Regrows Beans tasty as usual and rice was well seasoned without the garnishment (carrots, peas, etc. that many other places think it makes it "mexican rice", it doesn't! I was really pleasantly surprised by this place. The food is exceptional, and the portions are large. I'm taking home enough for another meal tomorrow. The chicken fajitas even had roasted tomatoes with the chicken, onions, and peppers. Delicious! We sprang for dessert, and we were not disappointed. This was our 1st visit and the hostess was nice and greeted us when we arrived and even switched our table since the sun was right on our faces by the window. Chips and salsa were great but our waitress was not friendly and had an attitude from the moment she walked over. We ordered a blood orange margarita and a passion fruit margarita that tasted terrible so we switched them to mango margaritas which were great and 1/2 off during happy hour. I ordered cheese enchiladas which were flavorless and covered in goopy cheese so it was one big soggy mess. The chicken nacho appetizer consisted of 7 or 8 chips and cost $9. My 3 cheese enchiladas were ordered a la carte and cost $15. You can't use the buy 1 entree get 1 half price coupon during drink happy hour so read the fine print. Overall if you want real Mexican food and good service, good luck! Other patrons seemed to like this place but I was very disappointed and left feeling like my $65 was wasted here. I haven't been here in years, but last night I'm my friends and I decided to eat here to have one last dinner together since I'm moving. They did a great job at seating the 9 of us quickly and the food was ok. Nothing to want to come back for. A few things that were unsatisfying were how we were treated. The hostess was yelling at my friend to grab her attention to get an accurate headcount. When we were seated the drinks and food came quickly which is a plus. When it came time to pay we asked for separate checks and I used to work in the biz so I know how big of an inconvenience this could have caused but that's why you accurately write down seat numbers and orders to be better prepared for situations like this. Also, asking in the beginning would have helped eliminate frustration for the server. My biggest issue comes after we paid. The wait started to die out and there was approximately 3 parties waiting for a table. So we were no longer in the middle of a rush. They cleared the chips from our table within 10 min of paying and while we were all still talking because it was my last hooray they took all our waters away. I understand they wanted to get us out but that's the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I will not be back in the future when I come to visit and I will be sure to inform people not to come here to be treated like this. Food and drinks bring people together. I've worked years in the past waiting tables and although it was frustrating to have tables sit and talk. They paid to be there and it's natural for people to sit around and talk after a meal. My recent visit to La Bamba Restaurant Margate with my wife, Diane, her mother and a friend, was a tremendous surprise! I previously had not been at all impressed by the La Bamba in Delray Beach. As I entered the restaurant, I was struck by the mouth-watering smells wafting from the kitchen and enveloping the entire place. The food at this La Bamba location was absolutely delicious!! They provide Happy Hour Coors Light Ice-cold beer for $2.50!!! The food that followed was as good as that at any Spanish restaurant in which I have had a meal! I had the Picadillo. It was simply fantastic. In fact, it was almost as good as the Picadillo that I make! They had great Black Beans and Rice, with Green Olives as it should have, but rarely do you get Green Olives, unless you ask for them at most restaurants. The Black Beans were spectacular, creamy and garlicky and most important separate from the absolutely classic, beautiful white rice. The Chips were nice and crispy and the Salsa was also excellent. Not too hot, but just the right spiciness. The Plantains were the most wonderful Plantains I've ever had, crisply fried on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth sweet on the inside. Perfect! Restaurant owners should make sure that all of the basics are done exactly right, as the owners of this La Bamba obviously do!!!! Everything that was served to me, as well as the rest of my group, was prepared beautifully and just about perfect. I was so thrilled to discover that La Bamba Margate is serving such delicious food treats. Congratulations to the chef for producing such wonderful food! I hope he or she shares their culinary skills with the chefs at all of La Bamba's locations. La Bamba Margate is extremely clean and well cared for. There are several La Bambas. Many of my friends love this particular La Bamba. I had been to this location once several years ago, and I thought it was okay, but nothing special. Clyde, my mom, and I happened to be in the area and we were hungry. It was a little before 3pm on a Sunday. When we walked in the first thing I asked was if we mcould sill order off the lunch menu. The person at the front podium said that lunch was over at 2:30. That seems early compared to many other restaurants. I asked about Happy Hour, but that didn't start until 4pm. We had to order from the dinner menu. As soon as we sat down a server brought a basket of chips and a little dish of spicey salsa. Very good. For my entree I ordered the two enchiladas platter which came with refried beans and Spanish rice. It was a fairly large serving. My enchiladas were delicious. The beans were creamy and the rice was light and perfectly cooked. There was plenty of melted cheese. Clyde ordered picadillo. He said it was very good. I tasted it and it was delicious. Mom had the combination skirt steak and enchilada. Her steak was very lean and tender. The food and drinks were not expensive, but prices were higher then the Mexican restaurant in Boca Raton that I regularly go to. Not fancy, but the restaurant and bar area appeared to be clean. To me, this is the best Tex-Mexican restaurant in Florida. I used to live in South Florida and ate at La Bamba about once a month. Their Chile Rellenos are so delicious. They are breaded but so lightly that it doesn't take away from the flavor of the Chile. The Chile itself usually has a little zing, and the cheese oozes from the middle. It's covered, in fact the whole plate is covered with a generous helping of ranchera sauce and more cheese which melts into the sauce to become the most divine Chile Relleno I've ever had. read more

La Bamba is a fun, reasonable priced restaurant and bar with a Tex-Mex/Cuban/Spanish menu. I've gone many times with friends and family. The margaritas are the bomb. After having sampled many items from the huge menu, believe it or not my favorite dish there is the Pollo a la Plancha! This sounds like a plain grilled chicken breast, but their marinade is really good so the chicken is very flavorful, and topped with grilled onions. I visited August 14. I was seated at a nicer table towards the back. I started with a chicken quesadilla. It was sizable enough for 4 or more patrons. There were large chunks of chicken within it & it was rather tasty. The nachos & salsa were also good. For my entree, I ordered steak faijias. I was impressed at the amount of steak that was served, as it was enough for 2 to share. It came with cheese, salsa, tomatoes, & fixings. Finally, we had fried ice cream & mudslide cake. The fried ice cream was just okay, but the mudslide cake was exceptional. The coffee was fantastic. During the entire meal, our Server named Sandra was fabulous. Overall, it was a nice experience. Casa Del Maya in Deerfield Beach & La Bamba are fantastic mexican restaurants. However, note this is an offshoot of the flagship La Bamba in Delray Beach, which is more majestic. Regardless, once you eat in places of this calabar, you will never dine at the Baja Cafes of the world again! read more

This is the first time I've been here in years and I don't remember why I stopped coming! My cousin and I decided to come here to get lunch for a quick catch up. Food: They always start you off with some chips and salsa when you sit down! I ordered the lunch steak burro with white rice instead of the yellow and it came with a cup of chicken noodle soup too. The chicken noodle soup was flavorful and filled with a lot of veggies, noodles, and chicken for such a small cup. Steak burro was my go to back than or the ropa vieja, but I got the steak burro and it did not disappoint. It still tasted as great as it did before! You can order it with shredded beef or chunks of beef, I tend to get the chunks of beef. The only problem i had was that they gave me shredded beef instead! Service: our waiter was nice and attentive! Even though they were busy, he still had time to check up on us and refill our waters. Worth: The prices did increase a bit over the years and the portions did get smaller but i think it's still a good place to come and pretty worth it! read more

Had a really lousy experience with this place tonight. Been coming here for years and I'd say it was always good to very good. Since it was kind of cold today my wife was in the mood for chili from La Bamba's. Usually it's terrific so we ordered that and two entrees. Past experiences were always in person; today used the on line menu. That went pretty smooth. Prices seemed kind of high but nowadays what isn't? Meal was ready on time and I brought it home. 1st thing we both noticed was a very strong fishy smell. One of the entrees was a combo fajita (steak & shrimp) so I kind of understood. The chili this time, was just okay. And the portions were noticeably small. The styrofoam bowls were maybe 2/3 full. I had the combo fajitas and the shrimp (there were 4 of them) totally overpowered everything else in the meal. The meal itself just had a pungent fishy, almost plasticy taste. Nothing else had any taste or flavor. My wife got ground beef tacos. The refried beans were purplish gray with not an iota of a hint as to what they were. It appeared that they were put through a blender. Zero texture. Gray pudding. The rice was okay. But the tacos were so greasy that they made the hard tacos fall apart on the 1st attempt of picking them up. I live 8 minutes from the restaurant so it really shouldn't have soaked through like that. There was one area that was consistent; nothing was seasoned properly. Not even salt and pepper. I contacted the restaurant through Facebook and was going to wait for their response in private before I reviewed on here. But reading their few responses showed they have zero interest in feedback and rectifying bad experiences. They just use Covid and the economy as a firewall. I paid $49 to wind up eating canned soup for dinner because this mess bordered on inedible. My advice; if you have a hankering for chili, go to Wendy's You want Mexican food, go anyplace else Taco Bell would have been a better option. read more
