    Cuban Sandwich

Tried the Cuban Sandwich, a Beef Empanada, and a Tamale. Tamale was different than I'm used to. Maybe it's a Cuban style vs the Mexican Tamales I've had before. It was ok tho. The Empanada was good. Theirs are fried so texture was nice and crispy. Last but not least, the Cuban Sandwich. Not only was It pretty big , it had lots of pork inside. The pork didnt have much flavor but the sandwich was still good. Service was very slow even tho it was Sunday and they weren't very busy. Overall I recommend them if you looking for a good Cuban Sandwich and Empanadas.

Food was outstanding. Service was friendly and fast. We got the Cuban sandwich, lechon meal, and cafe con leche. The cafe con leche was perfectly balanced, not too sweet. There was space to sit and eat inside but we took it to go. Would go back for sure!

Costa Sur Cuban Café is located along the south side of a very busy section of Sample Road. Fortunately it has ample free parking and though very popular enough seating space for small groups of four. The food is basically Cuban with a good main dish variation from Lechon Asada, which I had, to Palomilla, to chicken, to Ropa Vieja. Then a list of breakfast specials including quesadilla and great sandwich offerings with the stars of the show being the Cuban or the pork either barbecued or roasted. The Lechon Asada I had was super tasty with its onion and sliced tomato salad like side. It also had a texture to the bite that was nothing less than superb. Costa Sur Cuban Café is basically a one cook one waitress operation but well organized and well run. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean with a colorful bright décor; and yes, I like the place.

Highly recommend trying this place out. Very casual with quick service. Extremely authentic and food was outstanding.

    Colada with the shareable cups

First time in Florida for me so I was excited to try authentic Cuban food. Very small location but it has big energy. I wish I could try everything! When you enter your greeted by the aroma of fresh cooked food. It's like going to a family's house and they're preparing food for a party or gathering. Also the staff three women were full of smiles, hospitality and patience since we had no clue on what to get. They're very helpful and explaining the menu to us and making sure we had a great experience. Of course I got a colada which I thought was for one person and actuality it serves like four or five people. So needless to say I was juiced up on caffeine haha.. I was sipping out of the cup not realizing that it came with little baby cups like shots that you were supposed to take. And of course I spilled my Colada like a goofy. As they begin to clean it up, they quickly came and told me not to do that and they would take care of it. I felt so bad. We tried to order another one but they wouldn't take my money. Instead, she made another colada for me. When the food came I was starving because we had literally got off a flight the night before from California. And I didn't know what to expect but it smelled great and It tasted even better! It was very filling and it was healthy. I also got the dessert puddin de pan and that was sweet and delicious. It reminded me of arroz con leche which I'm used to being from California. However, this was sweeter and it was thicker like tapioca. Either way I loved it. It actually tasted better in my opinion. Overall, that experience is something I'll never forget. It felt like I was at a family member's house. They were all very helpful and kind. If you live in this area and you get the opportunity to try here every day or week, you're super blessed. 10/10

Oxtail definite must!!! I will be back!

The owner was sitting there while we were there, and to be clear, she's Colombian, not Cuban. That matters when you're claiming a Cuban spot, especially in South Florida where people actually know the difference. Now the coffee. I ordered a colada and it came out ridiculously sweet. I'm talking over-the-top, almost undrinkable. We had to reorder it with less sugar, and they didn't even offer to replace the first one. That alone tells you a lot about how they handle things. Then the Cuban sandwich. They put mustard and mayonnaise on it. Let me say that again. Mayonnaise. On a Cuban sandwich. That is straight-up wrong. As a Miami native, I'm telling you, that's an abomination. If you grew up around real Cuban food, you already know that doesn't fly. And if you're defending it... I don't know what to tell you. Lol. Look, I'm not trying to be harsh for the sake of it. But when you call yourself Cuban in a place like South Florida, there's a standard. This place doesn't meet it. Unless you've got nothing better to do, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for "Cuban" food.

It was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, bringing instant comfort with every sip. The beef empanada was absolutely delicious. It truly felt like being back in my grandma's kitchen on a Saturday morning, surrounded by warmth, love, and incredible food. If you are looking for authentic flavors and a genuine cultural experience, Cuban Cafe delivers beautifully.

The appetizer platter also comes with the same kind of plantain chips. Highly recommended if you want to try a bit of everything. Empanada has fresh homemade crust Lechon asado: tender and juicy roasted pork. I substitute the moros with fried plantains. I really enjoy it. Plantains are ripe and sweet but not mushy. Tostones are the biggest I've ever had. Well fried and not greasy. Plenty of drink options. Sangria is ok, not very fruity. Only has two slices of oranges . Mojito: strong rum from my favorite rum brand Don Q. My friend ordered paella. The portion is huge. You can share it with more than one person. It takes three containers to take home the leftover.
