They made me feel welcomed even though this was my first time here. Great customer service This restaurant is very small inside. It had a small sitting area outside. The parking was a good size. The color outside made it easy for me to find the place. Look for a yellow restaurant. I ordered fried pork it came with rice and beans. I added tamates and yuca. I liked the meal. I love Cuban food. A little hidden gem tucked next to one of my hospital clinicals and honestly, I'm so glad I found it. We ended up eating here four Saturdays in a row because the food was that good. Everything is made fresh to order, so yes, there's a little wait, but the flavors make every minute worth it. I've tried the Cuban sandwich, the croquettes, and the pulled chicken with rice and beans, and not a single dish has missed. The seasoning is on point, the meat is tender, and the bread... listen, the bread is unbelievably soft with that perfect toasted finish. Portions are generous too I never leave without leftovers. The place is clean, cozy, and has that "real, local spot" charm. The staff is always friendly. My second visit to this great little restaurant. With only 4 tables and 3 seats at the bar, this is a small place. Also 2 tables outside. A great energy and a small cafe type ambiance. Tried the Cuban Sandwich, a Beef Empanada, and a Tamale. Tamale was different than I'm used to. Maybe it's a Cuban style vs the Mexican Tamales I've had before. It was ok tho. The Empanada was good. Theirs are fried so texture was nice and crispy. Last but not least, the Cuban Sandwich. Not only was It pretty big , it had lots of pork inside. The pork didnt have much flavor but the sandwich was still good. Service was very slow even tho it was Sunday and they weren't very busy. Costa Sur Cuban Café is located along the south side of a very busy section of Sample Road. Fortunately it has ample free parking and though very popular enough seating space for small groups of four. The food is basically Cuban with a good main dish variation from Lechon Asada, which I had, to Palomilla, to chicken, to Ropa Vieja. Then a list of breakfast specials including quesadilla and great sandwich offerings with the stars of the show being the Cuban or the pork either barbecued or roasted. The Lechon Asada I had was super tasty with its onion and sliced tomato salad like side. It also had a texture to the bite that was nothing less than superb. Costa Sur Cuban Café is basically a one cook one waitress operation but well organized and well run. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean with a colorful bright décor; and yes, I like the place. read more

First time in Florida for me so I was excited to try authentic Cuban food. Very small location but it has big energy. I wish I could try everything! When you enter your greeted by the aroma of fresh cooked food. It's like going to a family's house and they're preparing food for a party or gathering. Also the staff three women were full of smiles, hospitality and patience since we had no clue on what to get. They're very helpful and explaining the menu to us and making sure we had a great experience. Of course I got a colada which I thought was for one person and actuality it serves like four or five people. So needless to say I was juiced up on caffeine haha.. I was sipping out of the cup not realizing that it came with little baby cups like shots that you were supposed to take. And of course I spilled my Colada like a goofy. As they begin to clean it up, they quickly came and told me not to do that and they would take care of it. I felt so bad. We tried to order another one but they wouldn't take my money. Instead, she made another colada for me. When the food came I was starving because we had literally got off a flight the night before from California. And I didn't know what to expect but it smelled great and It tasted even better! It was very filling and it was healthy. I also got the dessert puddin de pan and that was sweet and delicious. It reminded me of arroz con leche which I'm used to being from California. However, this was sweeter and it was thicker like tapioca. Either way I loved it. It actually tasted better in my opinion. Overall, that experience is something I'll never forget. It felt like I was at a family member's house. They were all very helpful and kind. If you live in this area and you get the opportunity to try here every day or week, you're super blessed. 10/10 read more

I tried this place for the first time today and I'm going back tomorrow! It's very small, and I think the woman who took my order also cooked my meal and served me. But she was very friendly and the food was excellent. And prices were amazing. I had a Cuban breakfast of 2 eggs, skirt steak, home fries, Cuban toast and coffee. And it was just a bit over $10. What a cute little gem right off Sample Road east of I-95! Went here for Sunday lunch right after church. Wanted the grilled pork chops but they weren't available, so opted for lechon asado- juicy, meaty, flavorful and not too salty. Excellent black beans, rice, and sweet plantains on the side. Place was clean and staff friendly. Prices can't be beat. The only things keeping me from giving 5 stars: 1) not everything on the menu is available (in addition to the pork chops, the "fricase de puerco", which I was interested in trying, was also unavailable), 2) the "vegetable of the day", which is listed as an optional side served with any entree, was really not a vegetable but just shredded iceberg lettuce and a couple slices of tomato, and 3) their coffee is served in styrofoam cups, even when dining in- I avoid drinking hot liquids from styrofoam due to toxic chemicals such as styrene leaching into my drink. Overall, Costa Sur is a fabulous find in an area devoid of excellent dining options. We will most certainly be back, and look forward to reviewing again and being able to give 5 stars! read more
