Always a great time at La Bamba. Was there last night on a busy Saturday evening. We were seated within 20 minutes despite being packed. We love the frozen margaritas here and always our go to spot. Last night I had the crab nachos and they were good made with real crab. Only thing was that the tortilla chips got a little soggy. Maybe they can prepare using thicker chips but regardless they were really tasty. Staff always attentive and fast service. Nice time sipping on Margaritas with good company!

La Bamba has stepped up there lunch specials big time! They have fantastic deals, with HUGE portions. I made my one meal into 2 1/2 meals, thats how much food they give you. I also tried there loaded Nachos, they were so good each chip had a large amount of cheese, guac, and sour cream. When I say topping ratio to chip was perfect, I mean perfect. All the food was fresh, and pipping hot. I went when they first opened, and people started rolling in shortly after. The staff was friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was clean, and inviting. This will always be my go to Mexican spot in south Florida.

La Bamba will always have a spot on my top fave Mexican spots because it's always delicious and consistent whether you dine-in or take-out. When dining in, you get served complimentary hot, fresh and crispy chips with mild/medium & "spicy" salsa as soon as you sit. I use quotations on the spicy because it is not spicy enough to me, personally speaking. I appreciate that the service is always fast and everyone is friendly. I've never had to wait long for a table and/or food and I've dined here so many different times; weekends, weekdays, lunch and dinner. They operate this establishment very well. Last night I had the pleasure of trying their passionfruit margarita (frozen) with a tajin rim and this is easily the best frozen margarita I've ever had. The passionfruit pureè doesn't taste fake like some places and drinks so smoothly. Whenever I'm sick, only their chicken soup can cure me. It is my favorite (sick or not)! I normally get their picadillo, but had the enchilada / taco combo which was soooo good and hit the spot of exactly what I was craving - like I said before, they are always CONSISTENT - so no matter what I've tried, I know what I'm getting will be good. I absolutely love how much cheese they use and how hefty the portions are; definitely get your money's worth. Their rice and beans hit everytime no matter if you get white rice with black beans, or yellow rice with refried beans. I will continue to return for many years to come!

Good quality Mexican from an outpost of a small local chain. Service is always terrific 5 star service: staffers here are always smiling and helpful. They're also very prompt with taking order, refills, etc 4 star ambience: it's located in a strip mall near where my partner's car gets repaired. Outside there's not much charm. Inside it's charming but bustling and loud. 4 star food: the food at an La Bamba location is always solid. It's good quality Mexican, and love their chicken mole.

Visited on a weekday and to my surprise this place got busy! The restaurant has more seating than I thought. Service was great and food arrived timely. Not pictured but the fajita platters here arrive sizzling and are delicious!

If you don't know about this establishment, you will when I'm done. From the food, to the service and the amount on the plate. Once you get in they give you fresh chips and salsa and they refill it along with your drink. I only eat one thing when I go in, you let me know if you've tried eating here before. I went with the "Enchilada Dinner". Two shredded chicken enchiladas, refried beans and rice. The fresh salsa I like to add in the mix. They have hot sauce but I've never seen like a garlic cilantro or anything like that. But top it with the fresh salsa from your chips and you will be in heaven. Definitely enough food for two sit downs. But if you're hungry, it packed with flavor and you will not be disappointed. Till next time, let me know.

I really enjoyed the food. Great service with a smile. Holiday music and a good time. I am glad to enjoy this place.

A decent Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. I can't say I loved the food nor the service. The portions are huge so I took half of it home with me. The waitress was decent but I can't say I loved the restaurant! I don't think I would run back here - but it was worth a try. They have all kinds of Mexican food from nachos to chicken and quesadillas and fajitas. You can also get taco salad and more. I have to tell you that they also have Spanish dishes in the restaurant as well. I had to keep asking them to fill my water glass however! Not rushing back...

They bring you things when you need them, but a little extra polish of taking away the empty things seems to be forgotten

This was my go to place for a fun atmosphere a really good food with years and years of going there and not one bad meal but it's changed. I reviewed this before it hasn't been there for a while so I went taking my family. Just hoping things would be better. It's small stuff but it's big stuff. Also I ordered what I usually like. Is my taco salad and chips and salsa and sangria, etc. I thought it was my imagination the last time when the chips tasted really oily and the texture was really shiny that like the chips they used to have. A while later, I started feeling stomach issues because I don't have a gallbladder so grease is not the best thing so I knew them that the chips had much more grease because the rest of the meal I always eat the same. I love their sangria in the past and their taco salad and my friends and family loved the variety of choices there but this time and maybe last time but I don't remember the salsa which is always fun was really boring as a matter fact the plain or mild salsa tasted like watered down tomato water and the hot sauce that I liked made you wait for a glass of water before you started your chips with hot sauce because it was an eye-opener and awesome. And this was nothing more than the same taste you get with store-bought mild salsa. I know businesses are cutting back where they can trying to keep profits up and the fact we are basically recessioned already. Just it wasn't a busy when we went in. This place used to be so full. You would be waiting on the sidewalk at dinner time and maybe lunchtime as well waiting for tables. I will go back one time at dinner time to see what that's like because I've been going there for maybe 20 years I think? I didn't feel like the all atmosphere like I mentioned the last time. Large number of servers were congregating, and the music certainly didn't fit the environment at that time. Basically, I was looking for the Mexican charm that it used to give off in the great food that you never had the question and I didn't get either one of those. If you've gone there in the past the minute, you look at the walls and see the modern lighting and the rest of the decor has changed somewhat. You realize that some of the charm is gone and It went from a place I had to see and go and enjoy Very frequently and certainly if there was an occasion with friends or family we would enjoy it. I'm not saying it's off my list of places to go, but it's not sitting in the top tier anymore either I will go back again and try some time and I hope things are different or else it's strike three I mentioned previously, you can see businesses where the parents or grandparents had built a business and they had a lot of dedication a real passion for the place and then when the next generation of a family might take the business over they can run the business they can do what they're supposed to do but the passion is missing. And you notice it because of what it's what made the restaurant stand out to begin with I go to many businesses to look at reviews and then go verify them, but this was a personal place, and it was one that I could count on for the atmosphere, for the attentive servers who would walk through and talk to people as opposed to a group of themselves, the charm of the environment And you never had the question whether it was a good meal or not because it always was. It's just not like it was

We ordered drinks to start...Pinot grigio for me and Corona for the hubby. We looked over the menu a bit and started off with 3 shareables..the eggplant with honey, shisito peppers and octopus gallega...The eggplant with honey was an interesting dish (in a good way) and very tasty...they peppers were good as well but my husband wasn't a fan of the octopus gallega. For the 2nd round, we ordered another round of drinks and then the pan con tumaca, manchego croquettes and octopus in garlic sauce. I loved the toast with tomato "jam" as well as the manchego croquettes...I would re-order both of these. My husband wasn't a fan of the octopus in garlic sauce as he felt it was a bit too salty. He also ordered another dish, the seafood salpicon and this dish he really loved! For dessert we opted for the crema catalana...similar to a creme brulee...it was good...I also had a latte which was a nice accomplishment to the dessert. After dinner we headed to their Hidden Speakeasy (behind the pantro door). In there we each had another drink to end the evening. They do have a food menu in there which was different from the restaurant. It would be fun to just come with a group of friends and chill for a while. All in all, a tasty meal and a fun date night!

We were able to try lots of dishes (it's tapas of course) and each one was delicious! My favorite was the oxtail and octupus. We were also served sangria--both white and red--which were delish! Just caution that it's pretty much valet parking and when a photographer comes around, expect them to try to sell you the photo they took, printed and framed for you. You can kindly decline! I would definitely want to come back for a date night or even a couples night out. It has the perfect ambiance for it.

Bohio Latin Flavors, Margate…read more Dominican and Puerto Rican cuisine with a heavy emphasis on mofongo, and based on this visit, that's one of the reasons to come here. They offer numerous variations, with your choice of sauce and protein, making this one of the more mofongo-focused restaurants I've seen in Broward. We started with the shrimp mofongo. The plantain mound itself was moist, flavorful, and nicely seasoned, avoiding the dry, dense texture that plagues lesser versions. Ours came topped with a rich shrimp sauce, but other options included a garlic cream sauce and a Creole-style sauce, both of which looked excellent as they passed through the dining room. Of the dishes we tried, the mofongo was actually my favorite. The masitas de cerdo (fried pork chunks) were flavorful and well-seasoned, although they came out a bit drier than I would have preferred. I'd still order them again, but based on what I saw arriving at nearby tables, the pernil may be the move on a future visit. The rice deserves mention as well. The arroz con gandules was excellent, with plenty of flavor rather than simply serving as a side dish. They also offered moro rice in both red bean and black bean versions, which was nice to see. The Punta Cana cocktail was worth ordering. Sweet, tropical, and considerably stronger than it looked. The dining room is much larger than it appears from outside, but this is very much a casual neighborhood spot. It reminded me of the kind of local restaurant you'd find in Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic: a large dining room, full bar, TVs on the wall, families gathering for dinner, and the emphasis squarely on the food rather than creating an upscale experience. There's also a stage and DJ setup for live entertainment. One note: service was slow on our Sunday evening visit. After speaking with the manager, I learned she was also the restaurant's only server and that a single cook was handling the kitchen while also keeping up with a steady stream of takeout orders. Given those realities, the pace made more sense. Everyone was friendly, but this isn't the place to visit if you're in a hurry. Both English and Spanish menus are available, although the primary server was clearly more comfortable interacting in Spanish. They also feature Latin music and a DJ on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, which is probably when the room really comes alive. If you're a fan of mofongo, pernil, arroz con gandules, or Dominican comfort food in general, Bohio is worth adding to your list.

I would say those are the most flavorful ones and on our regular rotation. They also have an almond cake we always order that is imported from Spain.
