Once upon a time this was one of my favorite sandwich shops whenever I'm in the area, but today I had to drop a star because my sandwich left a bad taste in my mouth (literally). Whenever I visit the workers are always attentive and nice. I was in the mood for an Italian sandwich so I opt for the Godfather and I also picked up some apple cider donuts that caught my eye. I finally get home and I'm excited to devour my sandwich. I open the wrap and it's so beautiful stacked high with meat with the perfect amount of mayo, so I proceeded to take a big bite. As I begin to chew and smile at all the goodness, my smile soon turns into a frown because it starts to get bitter. What is this bitter taste? I begin to dissect my sandwich only to realize it's the lettuce and/or roasted pepper . I was so disappointed, I ended up eating everything separately minus the lettuce, pepper and a piece of bread that also had a bitter taste to it. ‍ The Apple cider donuts were rich with apple cider flavor but a little dense, after putting them in the microwave for 20 seconds they were perfect. From now on I'll order my sandwiches without the lettuce. ‍

Alright, I've never written a yelp review before, and I never thought I would've wanted to until today. But fck me, I've never held anything in my hand that was so edibly alluring until today. I came here to order my normal bacon egg & cheese to have with the coffee I made at home, but as I was looking at the sandwich names they had up on the glass, this one caught my attention. Pretty sure it was the "All American." So I ordered that instead, and little did I know, I had just ordered The Holy Grail hand crafted, kissed, and blessed by Mother Teresa herself. That doesn't even make any sense, but those are the words I'm inspired to say because of how good it was, and to try and describe it's perfection. First off, you can judge how good a sandwich is gonna be based off how many napkins they give you.. no explanation needed there.. so before I even got a whiff of it, I knew it I knew I was in for one. After eating half of it I was full, and that doesn't happen to me.. The other half, if not my lunch tomorrow, is gonna be my dinner tonight. The thing weighed like 10 pounds seriously.. I really should've put it on a scale. Guess I'm gonna have to get another one tomorrow, or whenever my stomach finishes digesting the one I had today which could honestly be a couple days. Also for the Quality and Quantity, the price is unbeatable. If you were to go to McDonald's to order TWO shitty Big Mac's and a Large Fries, you'd be spending MORE on THAT then the thing that's lasting me TWO MEALS. And I'm bulking with a fast metabolism. Go get one. Your welcome.

Got a sesame bagel with Lox spread but upon arriving back at the office I discovered it wasn't toasted as I requested but was burnt...I went back to ask for a refund a few hours later but they didn't care. Who serves a bagel looking like that thinking it's okay???

This place has a been a staple for me since high school and I'm so sorry to defend anyone but as far as I'm concerned the only competition this place has is a bagel shoppe (hint hint) in Prospect Heights. If you are looking for a bagel with that glossy exterior sheen that you need to break though to reach that heavenly chewy interior, look no further. The bagels are fresh and NEVER disappoint. They also have a wide array of sandwiches, but best part is that you could customize. They will adjust and make what you want...and who doesn't want that. Anyways, I ordered a Turkey BLT and my bro got a chicken sandwich. Both were superb and hit the spot. We showed up right as they were about to close. Sweet, efficient, and team-oriented staff. Shout out to Adrian for blessing us with free bagels for the holiday weekend. We tore those up too. Will always be back. 5

Lox spectacular on toasted, scooped plain bagel - half jalapeno, half spinach artichoke cream cheese

La Bagel is one of those places that we always go to because it's close to us but I only recently realized how good it is compared to other bagel spots in the city! This is a true NY bagel. They're huge, chewy, and absolutely delicious. Their cream cheeses are great too! They're so good, I take them home for my family every time I go back to Texas. Their lox is really fresh as well and I frequently get it by the pound. They also have fresh orange juice and fresh berry bowls which are some of my faves! Now, they can be unorganized and take a while at times but I usually call ahead and come pick up. They also deliver if you're nearby especially to the hospital which is nice! If you're in the Park Slope area, this is definitely your go-to bagel spot!

    Lox Spectacular

The stars are all for the bagels which are are good size, chewy and fresh. We pick up bagels whenever we're back in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I'm going to stop getting the Lox Spectacular cream cheese. This had Lox that you were able to see and taste. This is now dill, tomato, dill, red onion, dill, and capers. It's also pink, like bubblegum pink, which is not appealing. Stick to the bagels and make your own cream cheese mix at home.

Classic bagels with good cream cheese and lox. A mini is big enough and comes in many different flavors.

There's a couple of tables in a small store. Above the register there's a menu board resembling a train departures board, cycling through the options (it looks neat, but the printed out menu on your right is a lot more practical). There's a cooler with drinks and salads as you enter on the right. The sandwiches, however, are something special. On my first visit I went with something familiar, the Mean Streets (their Italian sandwich). The bread itself is fantastic (locally baked), and the toppings delicious as well (if I recall correctly the dressings are house made). Pleasantly, they also give you a paper plate with your order, which is a nice touch compared to eating off a wrapper. I enjoyed the first sandwich so much I came back the next day to try the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The sandwich is essentially a hot roast beef sandwich, with a jus on the sandwich reminiscent of a French Dip. Perfect on a cold, rainy day. Overall, 1 of 1 has great (and mostly house made) ingredients and great execution. There's a level of creativity on the menu that you rarely see elsewhere in the city. 1 of 1 is among the best sandwich shops in the city, and a very welcome addition to the area.

When the hype got large enough, the owner decided to start a pizzeria and the rest is not history. This is one of the more worthwhile TGTG orders to me. Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese. Vegan garlic knots were great too.
