Excellent food and service. This was a fun cafe. Would come again! We had the breakfast tacos, huevos rancheros, and steak and eggs. Everyone loved their dishes.

Thanks to L Street Kitchen for a good dining experience! Friendly, efficient service, bright and welcoming decor, and yummy food! Our favorites were the Greek Salad and the pulled pork sandwich! We are looking forward to eating there again!

For my first time in South Bend, my friend decided to take us all to brunch at L Street, and I was so happy with the homestyle and relaxed atmosphere at this location! Service was great and quick, and this seems like a lovely little neighborhood brunch/lunch place! My friends and I all decided to do breakfast this time around. Coffee was flowing in cute random mugs. Two of us got the breakfast burrito (one with avocado and one was chorizo). Both were good and hit the spot, but I do enjoy a bit more from my breakfast burritos: overall, good but not my favorite ever. They also had breakfast tacos which looked amazing and they were eaten super quickly... So I have to assume they were also amazing. The standard plate and the meat omelette came with homemade jam, which is a fun addition! Service was quick and great - - definitely a place where your server is your friend by the end of brunch! Thanks, L Street for a fun (and filling!) meal!

What a hip little breakfast/lunch joint! Happened upon this spot thanks to Yelp on my way home from visiting a friend. I parked on the street and was able to score a seat at the counter right away. The place was bustling, and I knew as soon as I sat down that it was going to be a great brunch! I faced the grill area, and the two fellows working were hopping. I was attended to by a laid back and friendly waitress who served me coffee right away. It was fresh, hot and I enjoyed the roast. I chose the L Street's version of huevos rancheros (minus chorizo) with crispy potatoes which was served after a very short wait. I liked their concept; it was quite fresh and the over easy eggs were cooked perfectly to my liking. Hit the restroom before I left, which was clean and full of quirky stickers (I wasn't surprised). I had a really nice meal here, the service was excellent and the ambiance made me feel just a bit cooler...at least for the time I was there!

Clean and cute restaurant. I think they serve breakfast and lunch. Found this place on Yelp. Friendly service, fair prices, clean, good food. Nice looking menu options. Husband ordered the meat lovers breakfast hash and he ate every bit of it. A little salty but overall he enjoyed it. I had the avocado toast with a poached egg and a side of banana bread. I would go back.

Headed home from a weekend getaway and we spotted this little gem. Quaint and cozy describes this little diner. All the chairs are different, the kinds from your ol' grandmas house, as well as the coffee mugs. I sipped out of Margaret's Florida novelty mug. Staff was friendly and helpful with all the suggestions. Our waitress, Amber, was so sweet and recommended the jam and biscuit; both homemade and delicious. The jam was so tasty and had a bright profile, but could have been a little thicker. I got the breakfast sandwich with a delicious and warm brioche bun. Generous avocado with a lovely garlic aioli. I loved how crispy their home fries were. My partner said the Cuban was one of his favorites lately. It was succulent and a perfectly proportioned bite. Fries were solid. We enjoyed this nearly hidden diner. Cheap for the quality.

The Crawfish Etouffee Poutine seemed "risky" since we are from the South and wondered what kind of etouffee it would be. It was amazing. The andouille sausage and crawfish were perfect with just the right amount of heat! We also got the Peaches and Cream French Toast and the Crab Cakes Benedict. It was all delicious. We couldn't eat it all but what we ate made us glad we ordered it all. Don't miss it! Shannon was a great server. Gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. This place was bustling!! It seems like a very popular spot! We just had the two of us and were seated at a small two person table between two other close tables - located alongside a long booth bench against the wall that breaks up into individual seating spots. This was totally fine for our breakfast that morning but it's not something I'd prefer if you like your privacy in conversation or otherwise. ;) The service was slow to start but after our waitress came she was mostly attentive the rest of our meal. We ordered 2 coffees. These were stronger and much more delicious than your average "diner cup"!! The staff offered a couple of refills throughout our time. I really loved the simplicity of the menu! There are options with a great variety, but it's still concise and not overwhelming!! Our dishes came out within 10 minutes of ordering, extremely fast and was surprising! My husband ordered the Huevos Rancheros with chorizo and he enjoyed it! The flavors were bold and the plate was pleasing to the eyes except for the avocado which was looked like it was quickly turning. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and had super high expectations for this entree!! It looked so beautiful upon arrival but when I began eating I quickly realized the dish was quite cool! My first half came with a well done poached egg which was disappointing. The second piece was cooked perfectly but was also just not very warm. The hollandaise sauce had wonderful flavor, but again, just wasn't warm - it seemed like the dish had maybe been sitting. I think this dish could be outstanding at the right temperature!! The potatoes that accompany this entree were a little dry for my liking but my husband thought they were good!! :) We noticed other tables with special lattes and several parties being served decadent looking sweet breakfast options - those all looked delicious!! There was a super kind and outgoing waitress serving nearby tables, explaining all kinds of special choices, like lovely latte options that were being offered that morning. The way she so kindly described everything sounded delicious but unfortunately our waitress didn't welcome our table with that same level of hospitality. What we saw being ordered by those nearby was met with great happiness when it arrived to them!! :)

You drive up to the awning and a valet opens the gates for you to park. We had reservations. It was very crowded. I am told it's not typically that crowded. It was hard to hear it was so loud. Menu is large. Prices are higher. Be ready. I got the large chopped salad. It wasn't that large for $18. I changed out the dressing to ranch because I did not want the garlic salad dressing. Glad I did. The salad was ok. The salami was smokey it added to the veggies. But for the price it was small and disappointing. 2 people got the prime rib sandwich and it was pretty sloppy. It's better to eat with a knife and fork. I was told it was good. The sweet potato fries have cayenne pepper on them. The chopped salad with tofu was also disappointing. The tofu had a weird bbq type sauce. The server was nice and she was fine. The atmosphere is more high scale. Just disappointed in the taste of the food and portion to cost. Cool experience being on campus but you're paying for it.

Walking in, the vibe was more than fine... I'd even say a bit more elevated than a diner, with some charm. The server was welcoming and did get us started quite promptly, with our order taken within 5-10 minutes and coffee on the table 5-10 min later. Everything was downhill from there. An hour passed and we still didn't have our food. The server told us "you're next, it's coming". While something seemed off, we remained patient. Another 15 min go by, nothing. Mind you, unbenownst to the staff, we actually knew another table who arrived and sat down 15 min after us and, while they also waited a while, they finished their meal and left and we still didn't have anything. It's at least an hour and a half later, and we finally said something. Once again, "you're next, it's coming", but this time an added, "he sold your food to someone else". Aka the server either told the truth, and the restaurant made an error, or the server pawned their error on the chef. Food finally started to drop, but the order was certainly not fully accurate. Tolerable, but noticeably not accurate. Missing sides, incorrect orders, and one guest missing their whole order. At this point, we're looking to speak to a manager. The missing omelette meal finally hit the table, looking like it was whipped up in a couple minutes, on a dirty pan (think full yellow with a layer of black and oily grease). Upon cutting it up it was clear that it wasn't fully cooked. I wish I took a photo, but the "owner" took it to examine it herself and was both rude and defensive. Not one apology for any of the above. Forget about any suggestive comps or resolution. The server didn't make any eye contact once it was obvious an error was made. Genuinely, I can understand that mistakes can be made, especially during busy times. But, no excuse for the demeaned of this "owner". I put this in quotes because her behavior and response to the situation is certainly not acceptable. Maybe we had a "miss" experience. Maybe the food and service would be better next time. But due to the response of the "owner" we will not be returning and I would not recommend to anyone.
