This nail salon is the closest one to my house. Like literally 5 minutes away so I decided to try them out and I loved how nice they were and they called you by your name if they ask for it for an appointment. The nails came out very beautiful but the nail polish I guess wasn't being cooperative because I had to ask for a 3rd coat because it just looked so messy and it's shocking how he didn't notice how bad it looked. So I asked for it an extra coat after I had already dried them but it looks so much better I really do love it. I do have a small chip but it doesn't annoy me. Over all, it's a good place, I just don't know if they know how to really color nails or it was the nail polish being extra. read more

I usually don't enjoy pedicures but mine today was great.. THE BEST I've ever had. The man who did mine was also to owner of the shop. He was gentle and took his time. I have very sensitive feet and I really appreciated how gentle he was. The place was clean and making the reservation was easy. We were offered beverages which is also a plus! I've been coming to this nail salon for about 2 years now and felt it was time to write a review. The salon is spacious and clean and nicely decorated. The spa chairs for pedicures are comfortable and feature a massager. They also use hand warmers after applying cuticle cream when getting a manicure. Feels so good! I always ask for Amy since she does such a great job on my nails. Her pedicures and manicures are the best! I am very particular when it comes to any kind of personal grooming and this place is excellent. I would like to see a little more variety with polish choices. Adding an organic line like Zoya would be a fabulous addition and a way to stand out from ordinary salons. read more

I got acrylic nails done here about 2 weeks ago. Very friendly & did a great job. Got full set with gel polish. This place has new owner & he has added lights and changed floor. Looks nice and clean in there now. Also they have many, many colors to chose from both gel & regular polish. Also several colors that come in both so you can have nails in gel & toes in regular if you wish. As I said I had a great experience. Friendly people and reasonable pricing. If you were disappointed in this place in the past I would give the new owners a try. I think you will be very happy. read more

This is my new favorite nail place! I've come in as a walk-in twice (right after work) and they were able to work me in within 20 minutes. They are thorough in scrubbing callouses, give a great massage, and the price is great! I can get a regular pedicure and gel manicure for $50+tip! Definitely worth the drive to North Durham! I'm fairly new to the area and I really needed a nail spot. After passing this establishment multiple times I finally set an appointment for a pedicure $25 and a gel manicure $25. The people are really nice here however their skills aren't great. My manicure was not good. It was rushed and half done. The pedicure he took his time on however considering he took his time my feet should look significantly better. I didn't see them sterilize any tools. I didn't get what I paid for.. they are overpriced for the job they do. I will not be coming back. read more

2.5 stars for me. It was okay. I won't be back though. The shop is spacious and well decorated, but smells a little like an old library...not a pungent odor, just something I noticed immediately. While the nail tech was nice, she was way too gentle with my gel mani and especially my pedi and probably spent more time on the lotion foot massage than actual cuticle cutting and shaping. Another issue was that their selection of nail polish was pretty lackluster. They had me pick out a regular color I liked for my toenails and then matched it with a gel color for the mani. I didn't like that. I like matching color swatches and lots of nail polish and accent color choices. There was virtually no Essie or OPI polish choices and certainly none from their newest collections. Had I not already been to 2 nail salons that were unable to do my nails as a walk-in as well as completely exhausted, I would have ventured elsewhere. The price point was okay, I paid $60 including tip for a basic pedi and gel mani, which is what I would was used to paying in Philly and B-More, but I def did not have the same experience. I hate to be the first to review and give a poor review but it is what it is. Overall my nails turned out fine... the guy did a good job on my pedicure but it felt rushed and I got a deluxe pedicure ($30). I wanted a manicure too and this other lady started giving me a manicure while I was sitting in pedicure chair!!!! It made it feel so rushed and was very rude! I could barely enjoy my feet being rubbed because of this. Oh- for the paraffin treatment they put a tiny bit of who knows what gel in a sandwich plastic baggy - and put it on your hands and then tell you to insert your hand into a legit folded HEATING pad... very odd. The man working there and young lady were very nice but the older woman seemed unfriendly. A salon is supposed to be a relaxing environment where you go to get pampered... if someone tells you thank you (even if you don't deserve it) say "you're welcome"! The place has a "grade A" sign but I found that so hard to believe. There were dirty used false plastic nail tips on my pedicure chair pull out table (where you know, you can put your magazine or a drink!) Also I never saw the lady doing my manicure wash her hands before working on someone's eyebrows....gross. So crazy. I will not be returning. Sorry. read more

If you knew the owners of the salon previously, you'd definitely agree that this was a major upgrade from the last. Julie and her mom were very nice, and upbeat, however, the work was awful. My nails were extremely bulky, out of shape, and they were ALWAYS in a hurry!! I kept coming back, only because it was so close to home, and I tried to give it a chance! Julie burned my cuticles so many times it was ridiculous! The shop was mundane, too dark and creepy looking. I dreaded getting my nails done, but I couldn't take any chances else where. As I am picky about people doing my nails. The new owners, Tommy and his wife are EXTREMELY pleasant people to be around! I feel sooooo welcomed at the shop! Their prices are super duper awesome, and quality work is DEFINITELY served here! The salon has been upgraded to a more open, and brighter place! New paint, new floors, equipment, etc! Tommy's niece did my full acrylic gel set a few days ago and I am so pleased with the job she did! I will now book her as my nail technician when she is available, and of course tommy and his wife do a great job as well, but his niece is my favorite :) read more

My mom frequents LC Nails for a pedicure regularly but after yesterday I will convince her not to return! Her pedicure and hair salon appointments are her only time out of the house other than arduous daily cancer treatments including hyperbaric oxygen chamber - not fun! Apparently, she visited on Valentine's day without me and mistakenly did not leave a great tip. She realized after she left and confided in me on the matter. She and I went yesterday and one of the daughters (two daughters and their mother are there regularly) mentioned that she remembered my mom's visit on Valentine's day (and presumably the inadequate tip.) My mom received a horribly rushed and unenjoyable 15-20 minute "deluxe pedicure" at the cost of $30 while I enjoyed a 50 minute pedicure. Of course she waited patiently while I received proper treatment for such a service even though she had not. Granted I did opt for a French and had a shamrock drawn which takes a few minutes longer. The mother of the two daughters is the lady that poorly serviced my mom yesterday. Graciously, my mom made up for the "mistake tip" and gave much more than what was deserved for the poor service she received. read more
