Nachos with Polish sausage was excellent

Being Polish I'm always on the lookout for authentic Polish food. Who would think you could find excellent Polish and Mexican food together in a quaint restaurant in London?! L'Autre is located in charming Shepard's Market and was a block from the flat I was staying at. The inside of L'Autre is small, darkly lit, and has maybe 8 tables. The menu features traditional Polish fare such as sausage, perogi, herring, and borscht. I ordered the mixed perogi plate which consisted of sauerkraut filled dumplings, potato and cheese dumplings, and minced meat stuffed. They were delicious and the borscht was excellent. Not to exclude the Mexican cuisine, I ordered the nachos. Nachos were excellent and had Polish sausage on it instead of ground beef or chicken. They were covered with tomatoes, peppers, and cheese then topped with guacamole and sour cream. From the charming European ambiance to the delicious ethnic food L'Autre hits the mark and delivers quality and taste.

A pleasant surprise in Mayfair. In our search for Fish and Chips, the heavy rain brought us to this place. All wet, cold and hungry, we weren't expecting much. But to our surprise the food and drinks were really good. We had the Nalinski and Kielbasa and they were delicious. The place was cozy and intimate. My husband had a Polish beer and he really liked it. I had Prosecco with my Kielbasa and they were a perfect match. We'll surely come back when we go back to London.

A quaint location with limited seating. Don't let the Mexican Polish combo menu distract you. Simply delicious pierogi. Worth a try.

We shared a big plate of taco ingredients and tortillas. It was all very good and the good news is that with the variety there was something everyone liked. The space was chill and upscale while also feeling trendy. The drinks were also nice, mostly margaritas. In the end, nothing really stood out enough for me to remember or come back for if I wasn't in the area, but it would probably make my easy list of places that won't disappoint near the office.

Unfortunately, Mestizo charges per person and the minimum and maximum is two for this item So I couldn't order for one without paying forty dollars , and I'd be damned to pay that much. Having this rule is ridiculous. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant forcing you to order something that can easily be portioned to one. I ordered a marinated chicken with rice and beans. The beans were out of this world. Such a unique flavor I definitely was not accustomed to in the states. The rice was unfortunately bland. The chicken was marinated in this red sauce and was tasty for the most part. However , when I made my way to the center it became dry and had a weird taste. If you're gonna order this dish, proceed with caution. The dessert really outshined and redeemed my visit somewhat. I ordered the tres leches cake. This dessert is basically like a Mexican version of sticky toffee pudding. There are many overlapping factors. One key difference is tres leches uses a milk and cinnamon base , so it kind of tastes like a horchata cake.

WHAAAAAATTT?!?!?!? The spot is pretty small and intimate with smooth music playing for you to snap your fingers to while chatting all night long. They were pretty busy so they offered us a seat at the bar where Simon, the bartender, greeted us warmly. We perused the menu with big eyes and salivating mouths. We started off with drinks - I got a pink drink that was similar to a jalepeno margarita but better - looks like pepto bismol but was SO good, friend got agua refresca which also had a hint of spice - SO GOOD. Now, let's get to the food! First round we ordered chips & guacamole, pork belly chicharron and the tuna sashimi tostadas - absolutely divine. The pork belly was perfection, crispy outside and soft inside and the tuna was amazingly soft! Next round was 'Nduja esquites (fried corn) and the pumpkin & cauliflower barbacoa - meals like this make me realize I truly could be a vegetarian. The plating of the food was absolutely beautiful and we loved watching the head chef Raul and his sous chefs work. He is so serious about his craft - focused, determined and the food is served with bravado and love. Next time over the pond, I definitely plan to pop in here again! Who knew London was such a foodie's paradise?

Second was the fish taco. Lightly battered with a stunning mayo and lovely pickled cabbage to balance the flavours. The best of the lot (and it was a tough choice) was the pigs head quesadilla. The meat was on top rather than inside which threw me to begin with, but once I got stuck in I didn't care. My god. The actual quesadilla itself was UNBELIEVABLE. Cheesy, soft in the middle with a crispy edge, just delicious. And the pork and pickled cabbage combo on top was out of this world. I could have eaten 3 quite easily. My mezcal negroni was lush. Not discernibly different from a normal, well made negroni (a good thing) and I enjoyed it a lot. Service was excellent and friendly and dishes came out when ready. Place itself was very buzzy and cool, great atmosphere. Quality lunch at a quality restaurant.
