Matcha Staut
Peter L.

Came here on a Saturday night just for drinks so will only comment on that. They do offer food though so if you're hungry, that is an option. Vibes were great. We got seated almost immediately and bartending staff and wait staff were all very amicable. They had a bunch of interesting cocktails that I wanted to try but unfortunately, I can only drink so much. Every drink is a piece of art and carefully curated. I started off the the Boulevard Quarter which was kind of their take of an old fashioned. The wakamono added a bit of sweetness to contrast its bitters element. The genmai tea is subtle so if you're a bourbon lover, give this a try. The raspberry Hot Buttered Rum is a hot cocktail almost like a hot toddy. Although it sounded like a liquid tiramisu with their mascarpone, cream and milk, it wasn't too sweet and not too tart either with the raspberry element. Perfect for a cold/chilly night. It was in the 50s when we were there. Lastly, I tried the matcha Staut. It is definitely on the thicker/creamier side but it reminds me of a matcha cocktail that I had in Kyoto. I am always partial to matcha so this was def my favorite. Add a hint of pistachio creme like they did and it was *chef's kiss*. 10/10 recommend.

Good spot in a good location, went after the comedy club The drinks were good, highly recommend their take on old fashioned that has both bourbon and rye. The drinks were pretty good As for the interior, after living in London I was reminded a bit too much of Weatherspoons for some reason which maybe detracted from the experience and thought the lighting was maybe a bit too bright for later at night. Overall good spot and high quality drinks but a lot of competition in the area

Came to try their boozy kakigori menu. The Hoji & coffee cream old fashioned kakigori was amazing - even though we actually got it without the cream because I unfortunately can't have it these days. Went downhill after that. The Espresso martini slushy had good flavor, but was not very blended. Mijita slushy was totally unbalanced. Meh. Martiny's is much better.

Absolutely loved this bar. I can't believe the reviews aren't very good. The drinks are great and I love the cozy atmosphere. The service was also good. The tomatini was super delicious and surprise me. Would definitely recommend.

The espresso martini is one of the best I've ever had!

Stopped by with friends before seeing a concert at Irving Plaza, so it's super convenient if you're seeing a show. It's a charming bar with a nice sized food menu for those who are hungry. Hands down one of the best Espresso Martinis I've ever had, creamy foam layer with a hint of dark chocolate. Great spot to sit outside and people watch. Service was on point!

Fantastic cocktails. We love, love, loved all the cocktails, especially the espresso-based ones (i.e. l'americana, espresso martini). Vibes were great and service was good. I'll definitely be back to try out the food next time!

Cocktails are great, creative and unique, as expected from Takuma. Food manu could be better, mostly typical Italian dishes that feels odd to be bar snacks, yet too basic for dinner. Tried the tomato arancini, might be better to get it from Trader Joe... Beef Carpaccio was good but how could one go wrong on this.

Excellent cocktails. Beyond the cocktails, L'Americana has an identity crisis. Is it a bar, is it a restaurant, is it American, is it Italian, is it Japanese? We don't know, because they don't know. Did I mention that the cocktails are excellent. The small bites are good. While nothing amazing, they are fine with the cocktails (which are great by the way). The rest of the menu should be avoided. So, go for cocktails and some small and then go elsewhere for dinner or go to dinner and then come in for a nightcap or two. The sooner L'Americana recognizes that it an amazing cocktail bar the better. Service is excellent.

Everyone seemed to enjoy them, suggesting one another to try this or that. The bartenders/ mixologists were on their A game. The drink menu is pretty extensive and from what I could see, our party choices ranged from wines to whisky's and several options between. The rooftop/patio was an extension of the comfortable but trendy decor. Great space for an evening, date or friend gathering. Dear Irving... well done. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Tell the bartender what flavors and spirits you're in the mood for, and let them work their magic. I gravitated toward whisky-based, chocolate, and fruit-forward cocktails, and every single one was phenomenal. My husband stuck to Old Fashioned- and Manhattan-style drinks, and those delivered too. The bartender absolutely nailed our preferences, crafting delicious cocktails tailored to our individual tastes. Getting in is part of the experience: knock on the door, and they'll let you know if there's a spot available or add you to the waitlist. We visited on a weeknight around 8:30 PM and waited barely five minutes. I'll be coming back every single time I'm in NYC. Exceptional bartending, personalized cocktails, and an experience that genuinely lives up to the hype. Do not miss Attaboy!

As we were walking out, the host/person checking IDs at the front was incredibly kind and asked us if it was just the two of us because there was space upstairs (we didn't know that was an option!) I am so thankful to them because we were able to enjoy some of the best cocktails I've ever had. The staff was incredible - they checked in with us throughout the evening, explained the menu and gave excellent recommendations. We started with their old fashioned drinks (Lock and Key and the ash and molasses) - both were excellent. After that I tried the psycho killer (a whiskey drink with cacao nib campari, roasted banana and absinthe) - I have had absinthe in a Sazerac before, but this drink was unique and truly special. We couldn't help but get one more to share before leaving -- the Belfast Bred, a cold brew drink with a delicious cream on top. We didn't order food on this visit, but everything looked great. Highly recommend stopping here for some of the best cocktails you'll ever have.

The tea was strong and fragrant - it is on the sweeter side, a bit like dessert, so i had to pair it with water, but it was still yummy and would recommend yuzu contact - this was alright! Typical yuzu but ive had better ones - personally feel like the yuzu can be brighter and a bit sweeter rating: 4/5 - the drinks were all good but nothing particularly stood out except for the hojicha colada - the vibe and the music really brought up my rating though! It was such a cute, cozy, intimate spot for dates - small speakeasy with only a few seats, similar to bars in japan; it's one of those japanese listening bars and i love it - there was light jazz in the background, not too loud that i had to shout - the mood was perfect; I couldn't stop staring at the interior decor and immerse myself in this little cozy corner - service was super quick, nothing much to note IG: @nom.noms.only
