So all of these beds are great. The fans work well to keep you cooled off while you're baking which is super important! All of the staff I've met are very friendly and everything. It's just a major turn off that multiple door locks don't work... including the bathroom. I guess it might not be a big deal to some, but for the paranoid patrons like myself- it's terrifying. I can't relax while I'm tanning because every little sound I hear makes me think someone came into my room. I really hope that they fix this issue, but it's been like this for definitely over a year in some rooms and the rooms just keep getting added to the list. **8/11/17 update- they fixed the locks!!! Terrible customer service. Signed up at des plaines location and eventually went into same location to cancel membership as instructed originally. The pretentious and patronizing manger told me I had to go to a different location to cancel when in fact her location I was at was the original one I signed up at. Called at 410 pm to see if an appointment was necessary for a spray tan. Told her what we were looking at and when we arrived she had us fill out all new person forms. 440 pm after filling out forms and getting us set up in the system she tells us the spray machine was closed down earlier since they were closing. Note the store closes at 600 pm. Are you serious. We wasted our time and gas. This doesn't even deserve a 1 star. We would have spent over 100 for two sprays what a loss for the business. If you value your money, stay away from this business. Purchased a spray tan membership seven months ago, Used it for a while decided I didn't want it anymore and canceled it. No issue Next month, my credit card is trying to be charged again. Went back again and they said well you still owe past due amount of $74 Because I canceled the membership, I decided to be the bigger person and just pay it have them, cancel it, and even went behind the desk to make sure the employee canceled the membership showing it was canceled and it did. And behold, I was in the next month. Called spoke to an employee and told them if I can't get this issue resolved I will be contacting and making a complaint against issue resolved today and guess what they're saying. I owe $74 for a canceled membership still. By far my favorite L.A. Tan that I have been to! Great staff, really nice and CLEAN beds, and also a very nice facility. I usually don't have issues at this location, but today I met the manager and it was not a good experience. She asked to see my eyewear so I showed her my winkease that had never been used. She proceed to tell me that I must buy new ones according to the law.... I managed an LA Tan for 2 years and another tanning salon for over 4 years and proceeded to tell her that is not the law, the law is that you must see the customer take eyewear into the room. The law says nothing about repurchasing everytime, that's crazy and just her trying to make a buck. I completely understand the importance of this law and how annoying it is when people argue with you about it, I've dealt with that also but when you make things up and say that's part of the law that isn't true thats just bad customer service. Showed up on Saturday at 9 am when they were supposed to open and nobody showed I had driven 20 minutes to get there so I waited and nobody ever showed up a real joke! next day went in and girl at desk said manager was going to call me but nobody ever called. I asked three more times to be called and nobody ever called obviously lack of good management! They have not had towels for two weeks due to equipment failure another joke! Another time went in and girl at desk had a device in her mouth whitening her teeth and could not talk beds are weak at best and after several tans had minimal results I will go elsewhere as management seems not to care and level of staff is horrible at times Stay away better places to spend your money read more

I have been here only once. And i was not impressed. I went in level 4 stand up. Absolutely no color and the bed had no intensity. I did not feel warm like i usually do when i go tanning. And no, it wasn't because i didn't use lotion, yes i do and i use expensive ones. Anywhere else i go and i do level 2 or 3, i get really good color. I don't like this location. i could do a zero stars but the website wanted me to choose a star, so I recently had a very bad experience at this salon! Been there last summer for a few times and since its a walking distance from my apartment i wanted to try it again this summer too. They recommended me to sign for a membership as a better deal , so i did But after tree or four visits (never been disappointed before) i was treated extremely bad as customer and actually not allowed to use a sunbed because my tanning lotion was not bought from them and they accused me it will brake their bulbs...really?!? The Girl who signed me for a membership refused me a sunbed on that day after seen my lotion multiple times before i asked them to cancel my membership since other salons have no issues with my lotion, they said i have to pay a cancelation fee.....really?!? The other girl standing next to her said this is a cheap product bought from Walgreens .... i would never recommend this place and i will never return there...... They made me feel so bad as a customer Never felt so insulted What an absolute unprofessional service..... Wish I could give this place 0 stars. I came in Monday to get a spray tan level 3 with dark bronzer, and nothing showed up! I came in to complain because I spent 25$ for nothing! The manager Amber said there's nothing they can do because my neck was tan even though she could see my body was white. She was very rude and disrespectful. Never going here again. This La Tan rocks !! The girls are helpful and don't push you to buy anything like some other places do. I tried the red light therapy and believe me it's good. It made my spray tan last like 4-5 days longer. Unfortunately, Its like 12 miles away so i haven't been going in a while. They also have versa spray tan here. I do not have too much experience with the tanning salons because I prefer a natural tanning method. In L.A.Tan I was the second time after 4 years of break. Like before, this time I did not have a good feeling. Working ladies at the desk could not recommend a real package to me. I do not know about it and I do not know whether during the 5th session I will be ready to reach level IV, and such were also proposed for a higher price. Finally, after many hesitations, I took a package for $56, which included the level 1, 2 and 3. I did not receive the receipt for the package I bought. After the first two first 10 minutes sessions at level 1 in a lying position, there were no effects. So, as the third session, I took standing position level 2 for 10 minutes. Here, I felt that I had burned a bit and had to take a few days break before the next visit. I also took the fourth session, standing level 2, because I felt that I was not ready yet for level 3. With my last session I decided to stick with level 2 and I asked ladies if they would give me my money back or offer some other option. None of these things, they pretend they do not understand what's going on. In total, I paid $ 56 what include 1, 2, 3, but I took only level 1 and 2 what the package for $42 includes. Strange ... ladies only said that there is no problem ... next time you will take level 3. Well, where is my $ 14? I am not going to visit this place again. read more

I went to this location 3 times: the first was for their "cocktail tan", which is a tan on any level before and a spray tan. The girl recommended that I not go in any bed higher than a level 4 since I had not been tanning in a year. I followed her advice, and she put me in a bed that supposedly had new bulbs put in recently. Afterward, I went out to let her know that I was ready for the spray tan. Little did I know that the "cocktail tan" only included a level 1 spray tan (there are 4 levels). After the combination, I ended up with very little color. The next time I went in was for $5 Tuesday, which includes up to level 3. I asked to be put in a bed with newer bulbs if possible, and she told me that none of them had been changed recently. She put me in a "classic" bed which looked like someone had smashed in the side with a hammer. I went in for the maximum time. The bed was burning hot... extremely so. However, I ended up with ZERO color. Not even a line from my swimsuit bottoms. I called and told them, and they started asking if I used lotion, etc, which I had, and I still got no color. I'm guessing these bulbs have never been changed. They were nice enough to offer me a free tan in their level 4 "S Class". I just went in yesterday, and once again, zero color. I've been to other tanning salons in the past, and have never had this problem. I don't know if the bulbs are extremely old, or if they are extremely low power, but whatever the reason, they are, by far, the worst I have ever experienced. Big waste of time and money: even for the $5 tan. I gave them 3 tries, and they struck out all 3 times. For me, this LA Tan is OUT. I highly recommend that you go somewhere else if you want to actually get what you came for: a tan. read more

I recently started going to this LA Tan because my location was just closed. I actually like this location better! from my first day, the staff behind the counter, including the manager, have been nothing but pleasant and nice. Today was a unique experience - the computer went down and it was not connecting to the wi-fi properly, which affected the tanning beds...but instead of getting frustrated, the young lady at the front desk, Olivia, was really calm and was doing her best to get results. I stayed until the situation got reconciled and I am very impressed with how calm she was and friendly during kind of a weird situation. Other people may have showed frustration which would translate negatively to customers, but not Olivia. it took a little while, but it worked out and I got my tan. I really like the staff (actually better than my old place) and I am glad to make this my "new" location! read more

For two years now I have raved about this LA Tan...not just to friends, but to my residents of the local apartment complex I manage. However, after my incredibly poor customer service experience this evening, I will be canceling my membership and will no longer be promoting this location to anyone. I walked into the salon at 9:34pm (they close at 10pm) to do a spray tan, which takes literally all of 5 minutes, from undressing to redressing & exiting the building, and this astonishingly rude girl shrugged her way to the reception desk. At arrival, I acknowledged her obvious frustration (I mean, the nerve of a paying customer walking through the door nearly 30 min before close!) and kindly said "I know you close in a little bit, but don't worry, I just want to spray!" Upon which she replied, "ummm I stop sprays at 9:30...I already cleaned it, and it takes time to dry...that's MY rule..." Blown away by her impudent response, I reminded her that the salon was open until10 and that it was just a couple minutes past 9:30...I also stated that I've never had a problem with anyone else (side note: I'm in the customer service industry and I very much respect "closing time", so I literally won't go to places if I'm going to keep an employee past close, I'm just not that person), to which she simply stated "yeah, well it's MY OWN rule!" Well, Vanessa, "your rule" just lost your company a strong customer and gained your location a very poor reputation for many potential customers who live directly across the street. I'm really sorry if you were having a bad day, because that's the only explanation I would ever consider to excuse your poor customer service, but for the sake of your salon's reputation, get it together. read more
