Well... I don't write reviews in usual but this place needs to improve . I give it a try this place today since It was last minute appointment and It was close to the place I live. I work in beauty industry and I know everything how it works. The lady in front ( Idkn her name was kind and nice) also the person who did my service ( Brazilian wax, underarm & leg wax) . But that is all she was just a nice lady called Gul. She rushed my service first of all, waxing me very big parts which was very painful because another customer waiting . After she was done I saw parts in my legs and bikini full of hair. I told her while she was with another client and she said just : oh really . Guys you were nice people but need to do a better service because I know for you is just a business to make money but when we pay 100$ + tip we need at least minimum service , to be waxed.Especially me that I am in the industry and when someone do this kind of service give me a horrible feeling. Very disappointed . I need to go somewhere else and do the service again. I feel sorry to say but this review is deserved . After all of that pain every part I get waxed looks horrible. read more

Been coming here for about three years now, and threading is good but EYEBROW TINTING NEVER GET IT. First of all their price online is completely wrong. It says $10 eyebrow tinting and my whole total comes out to $21 without tip so definitely some false advertising Second, They don't know what the **** they're doing. I never got my eyebrows tinted before and now they fucked it up so bad that I don't want to ever get it done again. This place is a scam. This is the second time they fucked up my face. Update: Xo glow for real wrote back trying to address my total misunderstanding, so this is my reply. I asked for EYEBROW TINT ($10). Not the Henna eyebrow tinting. So it should of been $20 total with tip because if you break it down: $10 tinting + $6 threading + $4 tip= $20. So $20. Not $21. Another thing is that this place is a scam because last summer, I came here to get my eyebrows threaded but I wanted to use my card. No where, and I literately mean not even a sign in the window, said that if you want to use your credit/debit card there, you need at least $15 on it and the rest of the money does onto a gift card. Let me explain. So I got eyebrow threading done only ($6) plus tip. Well I wanted to use my card for the eyebrows and I had cash for the tip. Basically when the time came to pay, they told me I needed at least $15 on the debit card and the other $9 goes onto a gift card for next time, which is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. And on top of that, when I asked where the sign is for that, they point at this tiny little piece of paper on the front desk. The cashier is the last place you go, so why the hell is it there? Customers should know immediately walking through the door that you need a $15 or more purchase to use it. Not when they already finished your facial. read more

Tried calling 5 times over last 5 weeks when they are suppose to be the one contacting me to confirm my reschedule since they canceled on me last minute twice. When I call again, they keep putting me on hold asking me what's wrong with multiple people asking me what's wrong? When I ask who I'm talking to,?, they treated me like I'm a sexual predator and gave me attitude and gave me a life lecture on some negative experience they had in the past with a man that has nothing to do with me. I have been coming to XO Glow since they opened their doors - 10 years ago - for threading, waxing and tanning. I can honestly say that they have stayed consistent across the board in terms of maintaining such high professional standards while keeping prices very reasonable! The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. In the past year, Gul has been my regular esthetician and I can not say enough good things about her. She is thorough, quick and an excellent addition to XO Glow. She makes each session nearly painless! Also, the salon itself is very well maintained and clean. Well, everyone is nice and I realize the tanning is reasonable but...I think they should check their bulbs every day when they open. I've had tanning with more than 9 bulbs out, as in not working. Not worth walking over a mile to get there to pay $ 7.00 for a 1/2 tan. Get with it girls. Learn how to change the bulbs, have the bulbs on hand, even though they are expensive or call in help more often. I think the customers don't notice because they have goggles on when it turns on and they don't see the good amount of bulbs that are not working. read more

Only been here for a spray tan. I had great color that lasted a good amount of time. BEWARE: they need to have your CC on file in case you cancel. Normally that's a huge no no for me and I was dubious about doing it but since my results turned out awesome, I can trust the place. They have a real person spray tan you, and you have the option of going full or partially nude. The girl is super professional and really nice! I will be using their services again soon. read more

Fantastic place! Best place in town for waxing! Gul, the esthetician, is great. She is quick with the waxing (it took about 20 minutes for a Brazilian and underarm wax). She always wears gloves and uses a new stick before dipping it in the wax. This spa has the soft and hard wax. Its nice to have the hard wax for the sensitive areas. Their prices are wonderful too, no other spa in Park Ridge has a price of $40 for a Brazilian. I would recommend this spa to anyone needing any kind of waxing. read more

To comment on the Brazilians waxes, I've never had anything but a professional, clean and friendly experience with all the women there! I'm also a big fan of their products, especially the hard wax. Yesterday, I booked a last minute Brazilian wax appointment with Gul - I only wish I had started seeing her sooner! She has a great technique and I experienced no irritation afterwards. Don't be fooled by these negative comments. I'm a regular and have been for 10 years, and I know tons of people like me. Let me tell you, it was very, very hard to find a tanning salon that does air brush tanning in the Chicago area. After many, many calls and wrong turns I finally stumbled upon this place. Erin, the airbrush girl, is fantastic, she makes you feel totally comfortable and the tanning solution she uses if far superior to any other solution I have ever tried in the past. I have very pale skin and her solution lightly bronzed my skin making my tan look totally natural. The tan saddly faded in about 7 -8 days but happily the fade was natural and not as streaky as it can be with other solutions. So next time you are in need of a quick fix bronze go check out Erin, she rocks!! But do make an appointment first, that is the only way to get in with her. read more

I've been to XO Glow for my Airbrush Spray Tan at least 6 times now and EVERY SINGLE TIME it looks AMAZING! The lovely lady that does the airbrush tan makes you feel totally at ease.. and let me tell you ... if you're a chick my size... stripping down to your skivvies is a humbling experience. So believe me when I say Erin is amazing. The solution that she uses leaves you with an incredibly natural looking tan that is completely streak free and fades really well. Even the problem areas like feet, knees and elbows come out looking great. AND a bonus is you can get your eyebrows threaded for $5 while you wait. This place is GREAT. I've been here for both airbrush tanning and eyebrow threading and I've been super pleased with both services. First off, I'll start by saying Maria, the owner, is a stand-up chick. She wanted to make sure I was pleased with my tan and offered her own personal advice too. She definitely cares about her customers and it's very obvious. People like this are the reason to support local businesses. They do an awesome job with the threading. I've had a decent amount of experiences and this place has been my favorite so far. Good work, little waiting and the pricing is great too. They only charge 5 bucks for threading, you really can't beat it. And the airbrush tanning left me with a killer glow. I was sooo afraid, I'd look like an oompa loompa, as this has happened once in the past. But nope, not orange, not streaky, just perfect. People were asking me where I had gone on vacation...YES! The girl who helped me was super knowledgeable and answered all my questions thoroughly. I'd definitely recommend this place for either of those services. So what are you waiting for? I booked a spray tan here after my regular salon, Glamour Girl Tan, was booked. XO Glow Spa is close to my office so it was convenient. I wanted to get a nice, believable looking airbrush tan for my birthday weekend, in which I had a lot of visitors and events planned. Unfortunately, that is not what I received at XO Glow. My usual salon is very nice, but I didn't think that shower caps or hair coverings were a sign of a nice salon. XO Glow had nothing to cover my hair during the spray tan. I had to ask for a hair tie to at least tie my hair up, and I was given a rubber band. Not a rubbery hair tie, but a straight up rubber band you'd buy at Staples. To which the spray tan "artist" commented that she would cut out of my hair afterwards, because she is an esthetician, and rubber bands are bad for your hair. Spoiler: she did not cut the rubber band out after because she barely checked in to see how the tan turned out. Also, I was told that if I removed my bra and/or panties for the tan, I wouldn't be able to put them back on that night. What?! I have never heard that, and have never done that. I always remove my bra for a spray tan and have no issue putting it back on after the tan dries. Instead of standing in front of a fan like I usually do, she handed me a sort of vacuum hose to dry myself off. It did not really do the trick. I had hope that the tan would turn out alright after showering the next morning, but that was not the case. My hands and feet looked ridiculous all weekend. So much so, that I received multiple comments at my birthday party on the odd/dark/orange color of my feet. Never again, XO Glow Spa. read more

It had been a while since I got my eyebrows threaded, the reason being that at the place I used to go to, I never knew how long I had to wait, and making appointments didn't guarantee I would be seen immediately when I arrived. I am really surprised to see all these negative reviews. I have been going to XO for about one year now and have had only good expriences. I go to Umna for my brazilian and eyebrow waxing and she does a fantastic job. I used to go to Jazeh La Belle for my brazilian and eyebrows but I have found that XO does a much better job. The service here is also much friendlier! I also have had my spray tan done here and it was another good experience. I had previously been to XO Glow Tanning Spa for tanning before my wedding, and I had been looking for a new place to get my eyebrows threaded. I had been getting my eyebrows threaded at the mall, and the pain had just become too much that I swore I'd never go there again. I know threading is supposed to hurt, but it shouldn't hurt THAT much. I remembered that XO offered threading and it had good reviews on Yelp, so I figured I'd give them a try. I am a very happy customer! The girl who threaded my eyebrows (I believe her name is Sweetie) did an excellent job. She was fast, accurate and gentle. It hurt way, way, WAY less than the girl at the mall, and I'm pretty sure this is as pain-free as threading can get. I arrived at XO around 6:15 on a Tuesday night (they close at 7 p.m.), and there was a bit of a line waiting for threading. There were three girls ahead of me, but the line moved quickly, and the threading didn't take long at all for me. And, get this: It's super cheap. I had been paying $8 at the mall, and XO only charges $5. That's a steal! Especially considering the pain I had to endure from the girl at the mall. I highly recommend XO Glow for eyebrow threading. It's fast, relatively painless and only $5. And Sweetie does a fantastic job. I will be back soon! read more

After I left here, I updated my Facebook status to say "waxing while pregnant is NOT a good idea". I know better than to rate this place based on the pain I experienced, but some things are just not acceptable. Like the fact she got wax all over her gloves and it pulled at my already waxed skin every time she touched me. And that she told me - in detail - her horrific birth story. When I got home I found a ton of wax still on my skin. 1 star for the price: $40 for a Brazilian isn't bad. Another for the efficiency of the girl at reception. And a final star because two stars just doesn't seem enough. I won't be returning, though. I'll still hunt for a decent wax on the northwest side, or I'll just make the long drive down to Wicker Park where I know I'll get a great wax. read more

I was recommended to this place by a friend. My initial interaction with the front desk was not pleasant. But I was told to see a woman by the name of Rifat and that I would be happy. I instantly fell in love with her and her work. My eye brows always looked nice and she did an amazing job with my Brazilian. No complaints about the services she offered. Always clean, and sanitary; never double dipped in the wax, and made you feel comfy. That was important to me, making sure I felt comfy and trusted her. I walked into this establishment and realized that Rifat was no longer working there which was really sad since I had been coming to her for a while. I didn't really say much when I was told, but was super disappointed when a staff member said some very unpleasant things. It's one thing to feel a certain way but another to say it in front of a customer. I haven't been back since and I don't plan to. It's just not professional to gossip in such a way. read more

I went here for the first time earlier this week. I was really impressed with it. The staff was extremely friendly, and after having been to LA Tan for the past few weeks, it was nice to be in a salon like my old one. The beds were great (no cracks or damage), the place was nice and clean, they offered towels and had wipes and deodorant sprays in the rooms with the beds. The room I was in also had a full size mirror on the door, which was nice considering LA Tan did not have any mirrors at all! I'm definitely going to use this place as my regular salon now. I think she used to work for Meera a few years ago. Well, she did a fabulous job and I'll definifely be back.
