Been coming to Salon M for about 15 years now... I've always had great experiences here! The last 9ish years (I think that's about how long) I've been seeing Lucy for my hair needs. We've done a lot of fun cuts and colors - from side bangs to full on purple hair to my now blonde balayage. She's my fave! read more

Great Uptown location with a calm atmosphere. Maria has been cutting my hair for many years and I always get compliments about how great the cut is, even from people who are stylists. She is also a terrific colorist. If you haven't had a facial by Adalyn, you are missing a wonderful experience. Treat yourself, you'll absolutely love it. read more

Tiffany was very nice, professional and gave me an excellent haircut. Thank you! I'll be back!

Very knowledgeable, professional and warm team. It was my first visit but the staff made me feel very comfortable. I loved my color and blow dry. read more

I just got back from my haircut and I am close to tears! Being a full time mom to a 14 month old has left me very little time to worry about my hair. And my hour was wasted on this hideous horrible cut. My hair is very difficult to cut and manage but this is just horrendous. This was my fourth and final visit to this salon. I like this salon, honestly I do..everyone is very nice and its well kept in there. I should have known something was wrong when she didn't give me a mirror to check the back after she was done but I didn't think anything of it. I appreciate them being able to get me an appointment the same day but this wasn't worth it. $45 bucks down the drain and now I have to find another salon to fix this. EDIT: okay I am editing my review and adding a star because I have had some time to calm down. The other times I went to this salon were good visits. Anyways, I got an appointment with CK Studio in Skokie today at 5 based on recommendations from a few friends so I hope they can fix this. read more

Still an awesome salon...they haven't got rid of me yet! Love the "private" pedicure-manicure room. Fantastic selection of nail polish colors. Who knew Nicki Minaj had her own OPI line?! Adrieanna and Amy are fantastic nail techs. I had a "regular" manicure by Adreanna right before New Year's eve...it lasted EIGHT days! (and yes I washed dishes within those eight days) Just yesterday I had the most awesome foot-leg massage by Amy...I think I melted into the massage chair. I keep looking down at my nails as I type...and just smile. read more

So I have been wanting to write a review on this salon so here goes! I have had my hair cut twice there and really love it. I initially went in because I got a pretty terrible haircut prior going somewhere else and I needed to find a new salon to fix it so I took a chance on this salon and I'm very happy with my decision. The people are friendly, price definitely reasonable and the results are great. I feel like a good haircut makes a world of difference. I would definitely recommend this place! Thank you Isabelle. read more

Very satisfied with my trip to Salon M!! Although it took about 3 long on hold phone calls to set my appointment up, it was well worth it. The workers are all very kind and friendly to talk to as well. -Lucy did an amazing job at highlighting/balayaging my dark hair. The price wasn't too bad either. For the balayage, toner, and blow dry under the hood it totaled $115 (thought it would be waaay more expensive considering that my hair is very long(2ft) and thick) I will definitely be coming back. :) read more

Maria has been doing my hair for a little over 2 years. I was looking for a great colorist but had not been able to find someone to achieve that exact shade of what I wanted. One day, I was going through pictures of an album of birthdays and I saw a picture of my mom and I was like "That's it! I want that hair color!" I asked her who had done her hair in that picture and she told me it was Maria at Salon M. This is one of those cases of mother knows best! Maria is the go-to-colorist for women of all ages. We achieved the exact color I had imagined as if she could see into my mind. Awesome Balayage! Awesome cut! She takes her time and does not rush the process. She is an artist and you can see her concentration if you watch her while she works. I feel safe in her chair and know that I am going to get what I expect. Love Maria, love Salon M! read more

This is my new place! I needed a new look and Issy took incredible care of me. I brought pictures of a balayage look that I wanted and she talked me through it and I got exactly what I wanted. A warm, inviting and unassuming spot with serious talent. I will never go anywhere else again! read more

Love this place! It's family-owned and run, and all the employees seem genuinely happy to be there. I go to Edith for haircuts, and I wouldn't trust my hair to any one else after going to her. She gives great cuts and has great suggestions on new styles for you. She even takes the time while she is drying/styling your hair to explain what she is doing so you can replicate the process at home. When it came time for my wedding, only Edith could style my hair. She did so beautifully. On wedding day, JoAnna did my make up. She is very talented. Unlike many brides who go crazy with make up on the big day, JoAnna made me look beautiful, but I still looked like me. Very natural looking. The Salon did such a good job with my wedding party that one of my bridesmaids, who got married about 6 weeks after I did, used Salon M for her bridal party too. Again, they did a wonderful job. I would recommend this place whether you need a quick cut or a place to make you gorgeous on your big day. read more

Setting the scene....My brother was getting married and I was looking very pail, very unkempt and very sad. We hadn't had a family photo since I was 15 (and pimply, and in braces) therefore I felt it was important to look my best. Cue Adrianna at Salon M. Adrianna hooked me up. One day she did my nails and the next she spray tanned me. By the end of the week, and the big day, I was looking my best! Happy, healthy and in a good way. Not promising anything, but the night of the wedding I got more than a few head nods, hugs and introductions. I guess that's what happens when you look hawt! Thanks Adrianna, your my girl! read more

One unusual thing about me: I dread going to hair salons. It's not my favorite thing to do. I usually let my hair grow for 2 years before I eventually drag my sorry self into a nearby salon. My hair has been butchered enough times to traumatize me. Of course, I'm to blame because I usually go to places that charges $5 for a haircut and I don't say anything (not a fan of confrontation). This time, however, I decided to splurge on something non-edible instead of eating out (again). I found Salon M through Yelp. I initially thought they were new to the neighborhood but it turns out, they've been around for 11 years! Imagine that! Salon M is located at a strip mall so it's easy to overlook it. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance. Inside, it's actually very clean, spacious, and organized. Anyway, as for the haircut, this is probably the best I've ever had since I came here to the US. Lucy did my hair and she's awesome! I felt really comfortable with her. She's friendly but not too chatty. She knows her stuff and efficient as well. $45 for a haircut is a little pricey but I'm glad to pay for it because I haven't felt this awesome in a long time (hair-wise). It's the right style for me and I have Lucy to thank for that. I will definitely be back, I think I finally found MY salon! read more

Salon M is the best of the best! Every experience is always amazing and the staff is unparalleled to any salon I've ever been to. I've been toying with the decision to chop my hair for quite a few months - Lucy was nothing but patient and humored me along the way! I finally decided to cut 10 inches off for donation to Wigs for Kids (which they take care of for you) this past weekend and I can't believe how much I love my hair now! I'm sure Lucy knew this would be a great cut on me a long time ago but she waited until I was ready for the change and I can't thank her enough for that! read more

I am so happy I listened to other reviewers and tried a new salon. I've gone to several other salons in search of the perfect Balayage highlights, and am so thrilled that I found Lucy!! She is so sweet and good natured, and gave me the best highlights I've ever had! The first time ever, that a colorist was able to completely replicate the picture I showed her from Google! On top of that she gave me a great cut and showed me tricks so I can curl my hair the way she did. Highly recommend!!! read more

Amazing salon! Lucy is great. I wanted a more edgier cut and told her to go with it. I left looking like a supermodel and have been going back ever since (about 2 years now). She even did my eyebrow wax and they came out fantastic. Highly recommended for a long lasting haircut and a great price. Thank you salon M ! They also do weddings and I have seen a bridal party leaving this place gorgeous and each one had a different style. Everyone should come here! read more

The manager and the stylist both contacted me. The stylist squeezed me in to fix my hair color and did her best to match the color I had going on. It's much improved color wise but it's still not quite right. I'll go back to my regular stylist from now on. 4/8/2015 Update: after a lot of research i'm coming to the conclusion that this might be my best option. i'm going to try them again and update my review. read more

Salon M is the best! I came here for the first time in 2014 for a wedding party, and Lucy did an amazing job. I loved it so much that I came back to her for my wedding and I could not have been happier with the outcome. Now I go on occasion (I say occasion because I need to go more often!) for a cut and balayage. I've had Lucy, Justyna and most recently Leah. The ladies here are friendly, kind and are so good at what they do! Maria, the owner, is THE BEST! She is caring, hard working, and creates a family atmosphere. I always rave about Salon M to my friends and family and will continue to do so. This place is one of a kind!! read more

Loved my experience here. They were able to fit me in the next day right before a last minute trip. They all communicated very nicely as they were prompt and very professional. I went in for a root color and blow dry. Maria helped my hair look shinier by adding a glossifier to my hair. I also purchased an aqueous product that made my hair feel super soft after the blow dry. I'll be coming back again soon. read more

I have been going to Adrianna for 3 years for my brows, mani's and makeup on special occasions. I get stopped and complimented every time she does my makeup, the manicures last longer than anywhere else and I am in love with my brows!!! Great salon, fair prices and on-point services!!! I came in to get my hair done by Lucy, it was my first time to this salon. I showed her multiple pictures of what I was looking to do. It wasn't anything far off from what I originally had, I just wanted balayage and I already had blonde hair so it should have been pretty easy to just darken the roots and blend it down. I left the salon that day looking worse than when I came in. My hair had about an inch of outgrowth and it looked like she had just dyed the outgrowth darker. I contacted the stylist a few days later after I decided that I couldn't walk around looking like that any longer. She scheduled me for another appointment and attempted to fix it, which she failed miserably once again. She dripped some of the dark dye onto the blonde areas and it left splotchy marks all over. The comb she used left horizontal lines from when she tried to blend it also. I brought it to her attention when I was drying my hair at the salon, and she said "oh don't worry that will wash out". Well, it never did, it actually was more visible. I told her a few days later that those spots didn't wash out and they were more visible, and she didn't apologize or say anything but "call the salon and talk to Maria". I spoke to the manager and she proceeded to tell me "I'm sorry that you feel that way but we can't refund your money". She kept implying that I wanted free services done because I called back "a month later" (which was really a week and a half later because Lucy said it would "wash out"), so I gave it time. The manager also said there was nothing she could do and she wouldn't confirm that I wouldn't have to pay if I came in for her to fix it again. Oh, and she fried my hair to the point that I have random short pieces everywhere because it's all breaking. So, now I have to cut at least 2 inches off. The manager proceeded to defend the stylist regardless of her wrongdoings. Mind you, I'm in customer service and I hate complaining to begin with, but it was THAT bad. If you're looking for skilled stylists and good customer service, look elsewhere. read more

Salon M Park Ridge - Terrible work, there should be no warm tones. - Hair Salons Near Me - Park Ridge, Illinois

I have been to this salon twice, and have been happy with the quality of the services, thogh a bit shocked at the prices (I had been going for YEARS to BoRics - it is a jump for me to go from $15 dollar haircuts to $40.00!!!!) That being said - I am much happier with the services I am getting. My stylist took the time to do really good foiling, and gave me a haircut that looks good after you wash it, and also still looks good 3 weeks later, too! I will go back for a trim when I can make myself afford it. The place is pleasant, does not smell like chemicals, and offers free coffee, doughnuts and other nibbles. The staff seems happy to be there, and the customers seem happy, too! read more

By far the best hair cut, eyebrow waxing, mani, pedi and facial I have had in forever. Lucy is by far the best hair stylist I have ever had!! You tell her what you want, show her a picture, etc and she does exactly what you ask for. I'm excited to get my hair colored by her for the upcoming spring/summer. Adrianna is great with makeup, mani, pedi, facials, makes you feel right at home. All the people at Salon M are so friendly, they make you feel like you are part of the family. I've loved this salon from the first time I was there. Most everyone that works there is either part of the family or friends and you feel like you are part of the family too! This is my new go-to spot. I was so worried when I moved out of the city and couldn't keep going to my regular place, but after one haircut my fears are gone. Lucy is fantastic! My go-to stylist is in Lincoln Park, and sadly that location is no longer convenient for me as I work in the suburbs. I've passed by this place for the past 2 years, and upon a recommendation from a friend I decided to try it out. I called on Friday and they had an appointment available on Saturday morning, which was a surprise because it was Easter weekend-I was so happy to get an appointment! Lucy cut my hair and did a fantastic job. She was pleasant to talk to and cut my hair wet, and then again dry-which is usually the sign I will get a great result. She also straightened my hair and really took her time with me. I even got $5 off as a first time client. I recommend this place to all my family and friends. read more
