Kyma is definitely a scene. I went on a random Tuesday night and it was packed. All the ladies were dressed to the nines. It's rare that a restaurant on Long Island has a more upscale unofficial dress code so i came "under-dressed" in a summer dress and flat sandals. You live, you learn. Anyway, like I said, it was packed. My friend was late but we were seated as soon as she got there. The restaurant has a very Greek style with white, rustic decor. We were served an assortment of breads and hummus. The breads were extremely greasy, but this was a blessing in disguise as I was able to save prime belly space for the real food :) It was a while before our server came to take our drink orders. I HAD to have the Elit Martini ( a martini made with Stoli Elit Vodka and a truffle blue cheese olives). It was expensive at $24, but worth it considering the pour. Elit is one of my favorite vodkas. It is super smooth. The truffle blue cheese olives were unreal. It was a long time before our food orders were taken also. My friend and I split the Kyma Chips (Paper-thin zucchini & eggplant chips with tzatziki sauce) and the Octopus (Sushi grade mediterranean grilled octopus, onions, capers). The chips were amazing. They were surrounded by little pieces of fried cheese that were just to die for. The octopus was cooked and seasoned perfectly. As my entree, I had the whole bronzini which was simple but just right. It comes with your choice of sides. I had the lemon potatoes but they were very, very salty so I didn't have too much of it. We ended our meal with a huge slice of baklava. I wasn't a fan. It was all nights and barely any phyllo dough. It tasted like a hardened form of cinnamon oatmeal. It was overly sweet, even for me. Came here for dinner with my family on Father's Day and it was a hit. We got a few appetizers to share and they were all very good. We got the sesame crusted feta, which was good and the flavors of the fruit with it worked really well. We also got the Kyma chips which were perfectly crispy and the tzatziki they came with was also great. We got the gigantes as well which were ok, a bit under seasoned but still good. For dinner, I got the grilled red snapper which was cooked very nicely. Overall a nice dinner. read more

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant with a true Mediterranean feeling. The food and service here was fantastic! We started with the sardines, the zucchini chips and tzatsiki. The sardines were a little dry, the zucchini chips were phenomenal. Highly recommended. Also some of the best tzatsiki I've ever tried. For entrees, I ordered the octopus, my mom got the osso bucco and my dad ordered the fish special. Each dish was delicious. I loved the meat flavor, it had that cinnamon under tone that you get with moussaka. The fish was light and fresh and the octopus was great. Overall a good experience. Lobster Ravioli was great. Eggs Benedict has a nice little spice too it. The hash browns that came with it was also decent. Not "crips" as I would prefer but still a great taste. Greek Toast = French Toast (I literally thought it would be a piece of bread with berries). VERY sweet (without he syrup). Only downside berries weren't served with it as listed in the menu :/ French fries were also decent. Kinda crisp but potatoey in the middle. Possibly double fried? Or fried in oil that was not hot enough. Still edible. "Fried" Calamari not really fried?? I'm convinced this was put in an air fryer. These were not crisp at all. Maybe there's no breading and that's why it's like that? Very chewy, but well seasoned. I would. It get it again but I'm glad I tried it. Tzarziki was.. interesting. Food was excellent, drinks were excellent and service was excellent. When i first got there, i was greeted and seated almost immediately. Waiter came and greeted me and got drinks, i had the Pearce room to start then the fig martini. Drinks were Amazing!!!!! We had a bunch of appetizers. Seafood tower was super fresh and filling. We had the zucchini chips, sesame feta(it was a little dry) halloumi cheese was delicious and octopus aaa great! We had the pink snapper, branzini and grilled veggies. Everything was really good. My first time here. Place was very nicely decorated. Greek style. We were here with a party of 6 people. Everyone ordered seafood but myself. The seafood was all fresh and delicious to say the least. Wow. just wow. Been unimpressed lately with Roslyn area "high end" restaurants. Kyma was an excellent break to that streak. Overall: 5 stars food: 5 stars Service 5 stars Value: 3 stars (let's be honest, you're not going here for value) layout/etc: 5 stars Will i go back? Absolutely. Food wow. (warning, "wow" will be a commonly used word here). Fish was fabulous, apps (zucchini fries, the dips plate (sorry forgot the name), the breads) were all fabulous. Dessert (cheesecake and baklava ice cream) was incredible. In fact probably the best cheesecake i've ever had. Service: Went with some folks from the office who are sophisticated wine drinkers. Was impressed with the sommelier and his recommendations. Servers were fantastic, making recommendations and also their friendly attentiveness was unobtrusive yet well timed. Value: not a cheap place. But food is fantastic. Layout: When I rate this type of thing, I generally rate on volume, and layout. by layout, I mean if it's too crowded. Restaurant experiences are made a ton worse by shovinig in tables every which way. Pleased to say Kyma was very well laid out, not too crowded and not too loud. Tastefully decorated also. Will i go back? Absolutely. When I bring the wife here, I have a feeling it will become a favorite. read more

We have been to Kyma many many times. Food is always good, service is rushed and nothing great but somehow we keep going back. However, we have been very careful with covid but when we saw on Newsday that Kyma was one of the restaurant that had decided to ask for proof of vaccination, we decided to go as we felt more comfortable with Omicron being so bad! Well, NO one asked for proof of vaccine, plus our waiter had no mask on, neither did a few others including the bar attendant!!! We are done...not going back! read more

Came here with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary. Quite a beautiful place in Rosyln to have dinner at. For appetizers, we got the grilled octopus given the great reviews we read about it. It was delicious and definitely should be tried. For our main course, I had the lamb chops which were very juicy and full of flavor and my gf had the snapper which was also flavorful. The service was also pretty good. Our waiter was very helpful in making recommendations for our food and we even got Prosecco on the house to celebrate our anniversary. If you want to have dinner in Rosyln, Kyma is the place to go. We'll definitely come back. read more

I went to Kyma in Roslyn for the second time and it was my last. - One hostess was barely aware of her surroundings and the second was too arrogant to function properly. - The music inside was so loud, you couldn't even hear yourself think. We asked for a table outside, but neither hostess ever came outside to give us a table, so we ended up seating ourselves. - The waiter(s) we had were no less arrogant than the hostess'. After about 25 minutes of asking for an umbrella (given the possibility of rain), our waiter graced us with his presence. We had to flag him down to take our order. - I asked the waiter if they could lower the volume of the music and he told me it will just get louder. Place needs some update. The sofa seats are dirty and disgusting. When you look at the ceiling, simple places have leak mark. Stay away from the grill octopus is not good and not fresh. Also the fresh oysters, they will serve ones that pretty much have nothing inside. read more

Visited just this afternoon and I'm compelled to write a review already which isn't usually my style. We had a lovely lunch in Roslyn. The appetizers (octopus, tomato salad and saganaki) were all delicious but just SO small. If you're used to Greek joints in Astoria or Greece itself you're used to larger portions. You will not get that here. The entrees were a decent size (seafood linguini, burger and lobster ravioli) but the prices? Oy! The atmosphere and service are on point. Our server, Arturo, was fabulous and warm the entire time. We didn't have to once look around for him because if he wasn't around, the busboys were. I would keep this place as a once in a while because the prices are up there but the place is beautiful, food is great and service impeccable. Greek approved! read more

It's okay. Not a 5 star restaurant by a long shot. We had a reservation set and of course we were told it would be a few minutes, go have a drink and we will come get you. That's a great sales strategy because while your waiting - your shelling out $15-20 a drink. 45 minutes goes by and we are finally sat down. We weren't even given a free drink or app or anything which is pretty funny. The Greeks sure know how to be stingy. Appetizers we're okay - the best calamari is with the Italians. Eggplant chips were good - a little salty. Zucchini wasn't bad either. My filet of sole for $30+ wasn't anything to brag about. Friends lamb chops were $41 for 3. Kinda ballsy when they weren't even that tasty. I took plenty of pics as the presentation was nice. Beware: It gets very crowded on Thursdays. I am not sure why but it seems to be the place to go to on Thursday. They do have Valet parking - but I wouldn't let someone else handle my vehicle. I could only imagine if they dinged the car - Kyma management couldn't even comp a free drink for a 45 minute wait! Overall: Very Loud, everyone likes to dress fancy, expensive food for a mediocre taste, and Manhattan priced drinks. Plenty of other places that cook better food for lower prices. read more

I had a really weird experience. The hostess was not very friendly. We got to our table and our server was also pretty cold. It felt like we were inconveniencing them being there? It's a Monday night and it was empty when we got there so it just felt strange. Our server didn't check up on us that often and when he did, it was a bit passive aggressive. Whenever we said "thank you!" or "everything is great!" he never replied and just stormed off. The food was good and so were the drinks but the service was mediocre at best. However, the bussers were great and actually a lot more personable. Just a bizarre feeling like we weren't welcomed. read more

Let me start off by saying that the food here is excellent and the service is attentive. The big drawback is this restaurant is just to busy for its own good. Tables are rather close to each other and the noise level gets rather high making conversation difficult. And to start our night off we had a reservation, arrived on time and then after waiting for 30 minutes they attempted to seat us at a table that was not a real table since it was right in the middle of all the busy traffic and each person going by bonked us on our head, so off to another table we went (after another wait). Food was good, but come I guess this being Roslyn they try to get away with rather high prices. Would I go back, no, too many other options in Roslyn instead. read more

Was kind of torn between giving this place 3 stars and 4 stars. The decor is exceptional, and gives a Grecian/urban vibe which i really dig. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, however, the food is less than stellar. The menu is somewhat limited, I had a really strong craving for Dolmades and that wasn't even a thing on the menu. We ordered the grilled octopus appetizer which had more onions than octopus, Greek salad (which was probably the best thing we ordered), and the swordfish kebab platter along with fries. The swordfish was a bit dry and not flavorful, as was the grilled octopus. Not sure if i ordered the wrong thing here, but wasn't completely thrilled with the food. Might come back here again to try something new. read more
