Based on other reviews here, I was hoping for a positive service experience for my recent flat tire. I left having had one of the worst service experiences of my life. I called ahead to attempt to schedule an appointment- I was told they don't do appointments, that's fine. On arrival I requested for the tire to be repaired and mounted, and was told it would "just be a few minutes." Shortly after I was told it would actually be more like 40 mins, if I was willing to wait. I confirmed this was fine and proceeded to wait. After one hour and ten minutes, I asked what the current status was, knowing this is a 5 minute job. I was told maybe 10-15 more minutes. After waiting this amount of time, I did see someone handle the tire repair and place the tire back in the trunk. 5-10 minutes later, I'm told the car is ready. I'm a bit confused looking out the window and seeing the spare still on, which I questioned and was told everything was taken care of. I suggested looking out the window, and was told maybe I should go talk to "them." Then eventually after speaking with someone, the representative came back and let me know it would be another 20-30 minutes to have the tire mounted, if I was willing to wait. Of course, it's not as though I had much of an alternative at this point. So I waited a further 30 minutes for the car to finally be finished. All told, over 2 hours waiting for a simple tire repair, which I still paid for in full. I cannot see myself returning to this establishment after such a poor experience and cannot recommend this place at all. read more

Took my son's jeep in for repairs. They said he needed a tune-up (new spark plugs) and some wires replaced. Plus some other things. Charged me $600. A month later, the jeep was running rough. Took it to another mechanic who showed us that the spark plugs were not changed out! They also had the wiring backwards. My friend had a similar experience! read more

Their prices are fair and Marvin stands behind his team and the products and service they give to our community. Comfortable customer area with fresh cookies and Keurig coffee. They have a kids room filled toys and with big windows to keep customer area quiet. Totally unexpected personal service provided. I have a '95 honda which needs a dynamo machine in order to get an inspection. So i called to make sure that theirs was working since the Kwik Kar on Preston's was not. The girl at the counter assured me that it was and that i wouldnt need an appt. So I went in during my lunch hour. I told them i was in a hurry and they told me 20 minutes so i waited. They came back and said the machine was having trouble so it would be another 15 so i waited. They came back and said 10 more minutes so i waited. Finally the guy comes back and says the machine didnt work and to leave my number with the secratary so they could call me when the machine is working. So basically they wasted an hr and I was late getting back to work and they didnt do S#$% on my car. DEFINITELY NOT going back there. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. They are dishonest and out to take your money. I went in for simple oil change and they tried to upsell me an air filter and power steering flush, which ste both scams. They were quick and efficient, but you can get much better service elsewhere, including your dealer, for what they charge. read more

Stay away! Or pay the price, in my case a $650 mistake and hours wasted! I went in bc my steering fluid level was low. Kwik Kar pointed out that the hose from the reservoir to the pump was leaking from the clamp. Instead of changing the clamp only they power washed the area (only the area not the engine) cost me $$$$ and then replaced the hose with an AIR CONDITIONING HOSE!!!! Which is not constructed to handle petroleum based liquids. Paid them $287 (keep in mind I probably only needed a new clamp or maybe even tighten the existing one!) Fast forward a few months and the Air conditioning hose started breaking down clogging my pump and causing a horrible noise when I steered the car. The reservoir container was black and full of chunks of rubber plus the rest of the hose was seeping steering fluid from its walls. In emergency mode I pulled into another garage where they showed me that the hose was not a petroleum rated hose and that was marked AC. After a couple of flushes and a new OEM correct hose my steering rack was saved (that's over $2,000 to replace btw). Paid another $261 for the flush and the correct hose. Next day I went to Kwik Kar to complain, they asked me to come later bc the head mechanic was out. When he called me he said that the "OEM" hose he installed was to blame, I showed up and showed him the AC hose not an OEM steering hose. NO RESPONSE he just tossed it to the ground like it would make it disappear. He then blamed ME! for waiting so long to bring the car again. Well I said, it takes time for the hose to break down. Again: NO RESPONSE. Then he said I should have brought the car to them to fix !!!!! WHAT A JOKE, they have broken enough things plus I was away from his location and in an emergency mode bc the steering was failing. Well needless to say he offered no apology (not even for using an AC hose!) and ZERO refund on what they have charged me let alone me having to spend more money flushes I would otherwise never had to have on the car. I picked up my AC hose for evidence later and drove away. STAY AWAY, You have been WARNED. read more

Visited this location agaun and once again the service was geeat. They are fast and the facility has been very clean both times i visited.

I went to Kwik Kar and I use a specific high mileage oil in my car since it has more than 75,000 miles. I provided the oil, and even though the oil I provided was synthetic, they charged me for a full sythetic oil change (minus 3 dollars, for customer provided oil change). These people took me. I will never go back. Watch out for these people, they will take you if they can. I never want to go and patronize a business that I have watch them like a hawk at every turn. There are lots of Kwik Kar places around Plano, I would suggest you try another. read more

One star and that's being generous. Do not go there. I quit going there a while back because they ALWAYS came up with $500-$1000 worth of repairs that I NEEDED to do. My son is in town from South Dakota, thought it would be safe to send him there. Close to us. Think again. His oil change was $40 more than he normally pays and they suggested a litany of services he NEEDED to do, all of which he did not need to do or had recently been done. Do not trust them. I took my car in for an oil change and to have them check for a rattling noise, that my brother had already said it's the muffler because my car started to even sound more like a motorcycle than a car. While I waited, I witnessed a lot of the mechanics come out of the garage and personally shake hands with and hug almost every single Hispanic customer that drove up. I am African American and I didn't get so much of a hello and neither did white customers. Now you tell me what is wrong with this picture? When my car was ready, I almost knew what the outcome would be. It's making too much noise and a mechanic need to take a look at it for 115 dollars! Not took my car ridge down the street on Frankford and my exhaust pipe was loose, problem solved zero dollars! Do not take your car to this place if your not Hispanic because you will be treated less than and charged for thing that does not warrant the fees they claim. I will never ever give you guys my business again and I will make it my personal business to inform every single person I come in contact with. I am now getting my nails and toes done at a very popular salon in plano and every single person in here knows this store and I will tell every single person on my way out as well and all restaurants in this shopping center. Shady!!! I use to be a customer here at Kwik Lube and I liked them. I thought I would return with my 2008 jeep Wrangler, it's been a couple of years. My jeep has had trouble starting. I was pretty sure it was due to the corrosion on the battery cables. I bought my battery last year from AAA. They came out and checked the battery and the alternator...all good. Kwik Lubes customer service guy came out and looked at my jeep, as I gave him it's background. The first thing he said was that I needed a new started...WHAT? I asked how much? no answer. Asked about cleaning the cables, $49.99. I told him I didn't think it was the starter and that his price for the cables seemed high. He said he needed to pay his guys. I took my jeep to a dealership. They checked my starter for free, it was fine. They checked the electrical and cleaned the cables, my final bill......$25.00. I called Kwik Lube to ask how much a new starter would cost, $300-$350. The level of service has drastically decreased here! Pay $100+ for a full syn oil change and you get your old dirty oil all over your manifold, random cards for home cleaning services put in center consoles and ashtrays, and the guy pulls my car out and drives it completely around the building instead of just pulling it up front while it's raining (I heard my tires spin and my engine rev up while he pulled it around the back) while in the past they just pull out and hand you your key (like they did for the other customers there today). When I asked the girl at the counter why they were pulling my car all the way around the back she just looked at me and giggled. It's sad because I used to bring my jeep here and in the past they did good work. Now, the employees are completely unprofessional on every account. For $100+ I'll just take it somewhere else where they are more professional and clean up after themselves!!! I absolutely will NOT ever recommend this place to anyone! read more
