A bit of a late post, but we had our wedding dinner here in December. The event was last minute as…read morethe goal was to have my mom join before she couldn't anymore, so this was incredibly meaningful. We kept it small and intimate (12 people) and Michelle was absolutely fantastic with answering all my questions and making sure everything went smoothly. We reserved a portion of the outdoor area with a few dividers, and the staff were kind and accommodating. The family loved the food - in fact, it was the first time I had seen my mom eaten so much in a very long time. The noodles were my favorite :) We had come here a few times before and all were great times, but very special shout out to the staff here. Thanks for making that evening special for me, my husband, and our family.

We tried the sea bass which we had to ask to give back because it was really not what we expected. The fish filet itself was dry and did not taste fresh, it was very different than what was detailed in the menu and there was a broth under the filet. I don't know, we just weren't expecting a fish soup. Next, we tried the crispy pork and mie goreng with high expectations, and instead we were disappointed yet again. I think we will try to explore other Southeast asian cuisines. Thank you!

For the most part, the portion was generous. Rice was a bit plain, they should've provided some kind of hot sauce at the table in case I wanted to spice it up. The chili oil wontons were decent, but more peanut butter than chili oil. Chicken feet were surprisingly good, the sauce was tasty. And my boyfriend got the beef stew with biang biang noodles and he said the beef was tender, the soup was tasty, and the noodles were good. What I liked about this place is that all of our food came out fresh and hot. Service was okay, I felt like the people working there weren't mean, but they also weren't very friendly. Plenty of parking, by the way, on the opposite side from El Camino.

The chicken itself was a little dry and rather thin, but the curry was delicious, and the rice was well cooked. The potatoes were the perfect vehicle to soak up all the curry sauce!! This particular curry was more Malaysian in style, don't expect a Cantonese or Japanese curry. It also came with 10-12 leaves of raw spinach on the side, which was kind of a strange addition for me. I think I would have preferred a cooked green veggie on the side.

It took about 10 minutes to make and 10-15 min for me to drive home and everything was still piping hot! I did request for it to be spicy and the staff packed the chili powder on the side and warned me that it would be spicy which I love and I threw everything in and I was sweatinggg, this was when it was 80 degrees outside too but I couldn't resist. The soup was flavorful on its own and they used different ground pork that I'm used to. But it was overall good, customer service was great and I would probably dine in next time! Can't wait to come back!

Authentic and delicious food in an understated family-owned restaurant with thoughtful service…read more Went here for takeout lunch this week and we tried the Rainbow Salad and Khao Poon noodle soup at medium spicy level. Both dishes I would definitely get again and again. Rainbow salad is a clear vermicelli noodle (made from mung bean) salad with prawns and ground chicken or pork in a lemon/vinaigrette fish sauce, topped with thinly sliced red onions, fried shallots and cilantro. This was my favorite dish and soooo good that I think I would order this every time I return here! It had layers of umami depth with just the right mix of spicy heat. Shrimp were sizeable and not overcooked and the ground meat was seasoned very nicely. Khao Poon is a rice vermicelli noodle soup in a coconut curry broth with ground chicken, topped with thinly cut cabbage, scallions, bean sprouts and fresh mint leaves. At medium spice level, there was still enough heat to satisfy those that like a higher spice level. Broth was perfect, not watered down nor too salty. The takeout order for this separated the noodles and veggie/herb toppings from the broth and chicken so it doesn't get soggy and you can assemble when ready to eat. Based on how well these two dishes were made, I can't wait to return to try their other dishes. They also seem to have some breakfast specials which seem really good, like a grilled Laos sausage with an omelette over rice.
