Atmosphere says it is about to close for good but the food is good enough to never close! Tried some massive almond treat recommend by the Funky barista next door, the lovely baker plopped a hefty slab of nut crusted dough into a sack for me. Wish she offered a sampler plate; many tasty treats tempting me from the glass. There's not much space but perhaps they set outside chairs up during warm weather? I was very thankful to see the thousands of calories under four bucks! There's a fun old school 1950s vibe here, something difficult to categorize, relaxed and positive, great timeless tunes coming through a speaker. Didn't get to try the dessert until I got home three hours later, still so good! That's a big mark of quality when the texture and flavors hold up to a road trip. Very easy to recommend this place!

No apples, on the apple fritter. Yikes

Apple Fritters it's in the name. But I couldn't tell that it contained pieces of Apple's. So dissatisfied and disappointed.

If you're in the area and want something sweet, go for it. However, these donuts were very average and I probably wouldn't return. The classic glaze was lacking glaze and overall I'm just not a fan of their dough. The blueberry was the best one we had. Service and ambiance are fine. It was a classic bakery.

There simply are not enough stars to do this place justice! We were having a bit of a rough morning so we did the obvious thing: looked on Yelp for a review so exuberant that the place had to be incredible. The review began: This could be a short review. Kuppie's has the best donuts. I turned to David and said "Let's go!" GPS SIRI located it by voice search and we were on our way to what we knew would be an experience. I loved the place immediately. I walked in on a long line of happy people and a discussion about feeding raccoons in a guy's backyard. The raccoon daddy loaded up with bags and boxes and I held the door for him. "I do that for people," he said to me. "I hold the door for other people. I've done that," he continued. "It's a better world kind of thing," I responded. "Yes! Yes! It's a better world!" he answered. I was primed for a great bakery experience and I was not disappointed. "I'm going to fill up a big box," I said to the man at the counter who stepped up to help me. That was totally fine, he grabbed a box and I started pointing. David was next door grabbing coffee and I had to stall for a minute so that he could share the experience. I aggressively insisted that my order be paused. "I'm not here to interrupt the flow for the regulars," I said waving the line through. David showed up and he had a recommendation for almond squares from the guy next door who presides over a small coffee shop with the same energy as a great neighborhood bar. I should've gone with my gut and gotten four of them. We have apple fritters (ate them already, so-- no pictures except when they were nestled in the box,) almond squares, custard donuts ("if you're not going to eat these right away, refrigerate them. The custard is fresh,") and a few donuts. The square and the fritter got me first and I'll have to breathe for a minute before reporting on the rest. Infinity/ infinity ...this is the kind of place that makes me dream about being a regular.

We were there about 10:30am to each get a donut.

She custom made oatmeal raisin cookies for me and they were delicious. Called a few days ahead and were ready when I needed them.

Close at 10pm but if you need longer later hours a 1am tea shop is about a quarter mile down the road with good options also. Parking lot with plenty of parking. My highlight is that they have booths. Plenty of tables and seating. Good menu options for lattes, iced, hot, espresso, etc. Reasonable priced and they have 20oz coffee. The service was nice as the girl was kind but she didn't seem to understand me well and she didn't know if the coffee was Turkish or not. Therefore, I ordered an Americano with their homemade pistachio sauce. It was a nice beverage. I also ordered a Turkish bread with ground beef. It too was delicious, hot and fresh. The ambiance is inviting. The pastries and mini to small cake options were quite beautiful. The nose level was very quiet until little ones came in. Still tolerable but if you are studying and it's busy don't forget your headphones. Lol. I studied for about 3 hours and I would definitely return again.

But, I am reviewing the Lombard location. The selection was good and fresh, although some of their items are a bit pricey. I ordered cake pops, brownies, and a chocolate chip cookie. The sales person was pleasant and quick. This store is their biggest store, and they feed the Winfield and Schaumburg stores. They make their pastries at this location, so you'll probably get the freshest selection at the Lombard location. I had bought a gift card from Costco for Sweet Reserve. I admit if I hadn't bought it, and received a discount at Costco for it, I probably would not have noticed the store. It's in a small strip mall on Roosevelt road which has hundreds of strip malls off the road. The store itself is clean and well kept. It does have a limited selection of products but they were all pretty good. The brownies are very frudgey, just the way I like them. The cake pops are sweet, but a little dry. The cookie has a lot of chips in them. Overall, I liked the place.

I've been exploring more Middle Eastern cafés lately, and this one stood out in the best way. I ordered a V60, and honestly it was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had. You can see the care and attention they put into the process, from the precise brewing to serving it with a small pot so I could enjoy the rest at my own pace. The flavor was incredible, smooth and rich. I also tried the pistachio cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious perfectly balanced. Maybe a bit to much chocolate on topo. The presentation matched the taste, and it paired beautifully with the coffee. The café itself has a wonderful atmosphere thoughtfully decorated and very inviting. You can tell a lot of effort was put into creating a warm, stylish, and welcoming space. Between the excellent drinks, the tasty desserts, and the inviting vibe, I left very satisfied and already looking forward to coming back. But over the past few months I've been there three times, and every time they are sold out of so many breads and pastries... Today I visited around 1 pm hoping to buy a baguette for dinner, and they were sold out. Since they're open until 9 pm, I asked if they were baking any more of them--but I was told once they're sold out, that's it for the day. So... The baguette shop was going to stay open for 8 more hours with no baguettes? Ce n'est pas bon... The pastries we bought today to enjoy onsite were very good--a strawberry mochi donut and a raspberry cream bite. The cream inside the raspberry treat was sublime. I ordered an iced mocha and couldn't finish the second half because it was too dense and sweet. My daughter was happier with her iced matcha. Folks have noted before that this place feels pricey, and that rings true. It feels almost punitively expensive here. All in all this is a pretty little place, but the supply chain clearly can't keep up and the prices are pretty high. It's probably best for early risers and folks looking for a splurge.
