I've always had the opportunity to choose Italian bakery as the place where to get cakes or pastries. They really went above and beyond for the 100 people cake for my son's baptism. They did an amazing job and were also able to deliver it to the banquet hall. That helped tremendously. The cake was delicious and fresh. They never have anything that is not fresh. This is based off real time. My patient recommended me this bakery and wanted to get my partner some tiramisu. Mind you, it's cash ONLY. The tiramisu is $2.75 so take note. The service was quick but I only had $10 with me. I asked for 5 but then asked for 4 then 3 because of the cash I had. The server was talking to another customer in Italian and was already distracted. Once I saw the price, I told her only 3. She gave me this weird and impatient look and was very rude. Hence why I took 1 star off. It's prolly good food, just very hostile environment if you're not Italian. Update: taste wise the tiramisu is a little on the drier side and has a small layer of chocolate in the bottom. Picked up a cannoli cake 10 inch from here since our joint party was in Addison - despite us living over an hour away... we decided to go with the Italian bakery based on the many local fans we know and the RAVING positive cannoli reviews online only to be extremely disappointed. No one would eat it- it was that dry. We picked it up on a Sunday, they are closed Monday, I attempted to call Tuesday to let them know about the cake, started mentioning to the woman who answered the phone, she put me on hold... I waited... I waited over 15 min before I hung up the phone, called back just to be put on hold again... I wasn't going to wait anymore. Hopefully it was a one off, sucks it was for us, but I will never order again from here based on our entire experience now. Poor service. My husband and I were out this way for an excursion to the Elmhurst Art Museum and wanted some baked goods to go with our dinner that night. The Italian Bakery had good reviews and we were very excited to find this place. That all changed very soon. When we walked in there were no customers in the store and we were not greeted. Once we made our decision the woman who "helped" us seemed very put out by our presence. We selected what looked like a delicious array of treats. That night we had a small selection of these treats.
