Food tastes good, bubble tea yes awesome! But the location has no splash guards. That's for sure a health violation. I literally stood at the kiosk to put in my order and could stick my finger in the boba they were plumping. I even asked if they were recently opened and planned a splashguard for all the fruit teas they have sitting with no covers. They said no. I cringed and left quickly. Horrible experience. I will never return again! I placed an online order for a drink so I won't have to wait. I arrived a few minutes after the selected pick-up time. There is no designated area for mobile orders. The line at the register was long. I informed the employee that I was there for a mobile order. I've heard of the famed TKK Fried Chicken from KFT's Instagram for awhile now and was excited to try it! Overall they have some kinks to work out with efficiency, service, and the food/drinks but it wasn't bad. The combined store just opened, so there were some issues with service. We got our bubble teas within 5 minutes of ordering, but we waited 30 minutes for our food to come out and all we ordered were two combos. There were 8 other people waiting a long time as well. The food came out so slowly. No place to sit indoors currently and no public restroom. My crispy fried chicken (original is non crispy FYI) was not bad. I got the combo with 2 dark pieces, biscuit, and a side. The price of $8.49 was reasonable compared to some of their other options. Chicken was On par with Popeyes but a thinner crumb coating. It was hot and freshly fried! But quite oily with small pools of oil under the skin and in the container - could be because the chicken just came out though. The curly fries were pretty standard but I enjoyed them! Don't waste your 25 cents on any dipping sauce for the fries, the honey mustard was meh. Just use ketchup. My favorite part was that buttery fluffy biscuit! A fluffier version of the Popeyes biscuit. Fiancé got spicy crispy chicken sandwich deluxe (which adds tomatoes and lettuce). It was pretty good but not very spicy. Charred corn on the side was buttery and smoky - I was overall a fan of it. Got a large KFT classic milk tea for free with the grand opening promotion. It was pretty standard but the Earl Grey brewed was stronger than usual and had a stronger floral taste that I didn't like. The bubbles were good as usual though. My usual order is oolong milk tea so I'd defer back to that next time. read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes ! This venue is great! All the specialty drinks made the way our family likes it. Everyone likes something different and it is so fun to switch things up. Slushy, or tea, or boba, or jellies, and best of all the level of sweetness. The chicken and sides are well liked as well. The chicken stays hot even after we got home to eat it. Hot or mild. A little Asian flare to the chicken and my hubby and kids ate those bones clean. I know that whenever I go to the movies, I always crave this treat before or after the show. I'm so happy that they opened this KFT/TKK. They also have Tutti Frutti in the back which is pretty cool. I am fan of Tutti Frutti but didn't get any this visit. I definitely will next time. EVERY TIME I went to the College Park Kung Fu Tea, it was horrible!! You don't know how excited I am - now that they have one closer to me since I moved to Laurel. The bubbles were soft and chewy. Drinks were good but the service here is horrible. The establishment was not busy when we ordered. No customer was in when we arrived. 1 out of 4 drinks were not made because they were joking around the whole time. We ordered a 3 piece drumstick order and they gave it to us wrong. They also took 30 minutes to make it because they forgot. The staff member in the back obviously doesn't read the orders coming in. The guy and girl duo in the front if they could stop joking around with each-other they would have gotten our order in a timely fashion. FINALLY. A milk tea shop in Laurel! This place has some of the best tea around. The flavor of my drink was consistent with other shops, so it's reassuring to know every future visit will be just as delicious. The store also features TKK chicken sandwiches, whole chicken, and chicken strips with sides. Really crunchy, very moist and they didn't miss on the tastiness. This place is great! My first impression of this location was this place is so spacious. Aside from kft, they also have tkk chicken and tutti frutti (which hasn't opened yet). It's an amazing combo; you can have a kft drink along with your chicken and frozen yogurt for dessert (when it opens). We ordered the lychee punch and the 6 piece family meal with curly fries and cheese curds. We tried the crispy spicy chicken and it definitely had a kick to it, but the lychee punch was so refreshing and a great pair with the spiciness from the chicken. The chicken was super crispy, juicy and flavorful. I was surprised when I bit into the chicken breast bc it was juicy and chicken breast is normally dry. The cheese curds and curly fries were delicious to snack on between bites of chicken. Next time I visit, I definitely will try something new from their tkk chicken menu. read more

I wanted to give an update because here we are a year later and nothing has changed. I ordered ahead on the app for two drumsticks and they gave me the wrong order after I already waited 30 minutes. They told me it was going to take another 10 minutes to make my order, I went in after 20 and it still wasn't ready. To top it off the staff was very nonchalant when I asked for updates on my order. The boba tea they serve are great, the tea tastes just as their name sounds and their boba is sweet and chewy, their variety of toppings are quite a nice bonus too. Most problems I've encountered in this shop is usually handled quite quickly by their employees. The fact that they allow sweetness adjustments for certain drinks perfect too since some of my own family members dislike drinks that are too sweet, the sweetness adjustments allows me to order drinks that fits my family's tastes perfectly. Only downside to this is probably the select few drinks they don't allow sweetness adjustments due to their formula apparently. I myself especially loves the taro milk green tea they serve at 70% sugar, it's not exactly a common choice, but it's a good one. Another one I recommend trying is definitely their slushes, I absolutely love them. They also serve some nice chicken. The chickens are juicy, crispy, and packs quite the flavor. This is even better considering that they only sell fresh, newly fried chicken. This does make the wait time longer, but the food is worth that wait. They really need to hire more people though, the wait can be quite long depending on the time and day you go in there. read more

My dream has finally come true becuase they've officially placed one in the Towne Center at Laurel. When I walked in I was welcomed and told to please stand behind the table (Covid regulations of course!) everyone in there was wearing a mask and working responsible despite our current situation. New business in laurel!! We're super excited to have another Asian restaurant local vs trekking to Rockville. So this location used to be solely a Tutti Fruitti frozen yogurt shop but now it's under new ownership and has Kung Fu Tea and TKK. This is pretty much all you need for a delicious meal. Everyone knows Kung Fu Tea and for those that don't know it's probably the most popular bubble tea/boba shop franchise in Maryland right now. Now, for TKK, I had to get myself educated about this company. It's a 40+ year old fried chicken shop based in Taiwan. They have locations in New York but I believe this is the first location in Maryland. For food we got a piece or two of the mild, spicy and original. For sides we had sweet potato fries, curly fries, and mash potatoes. Of course, we had Kung Fu Tea too. My husband always gets a mango slush, my son indulged in a strawberry lemonade and I had a grapefruit green tea. Chicken was so good. It was familiar but totally different at the same time. It has the crispiness of Popeyes but with Asian flavors like the famous Taiwanese chicken nuggets. We preferred the breaded chicken versus the original which was unbreaded. The spicy had a little kick but wasn't overwhelming. My husband and I really liked the spicy and my son devoured the mild drumstick he got and asked for "mo chicken" (were just learning to speak so this was so surprising to us). Although I love me some Bon Chon soy glazed chicken, this was delicious because it didn't have sauce all over it. The flavor was dusted on or mixed into the batter. It felt "healthier" lol as much sense as a healthy fried chicken can be Lolol. I was surprised by how much I liked the sweet potato fries. They were cut thick and soft in the middle. They didn't use the normal orange sweet potato were used, they used a white sweet potato that I'm gonna say Asian countries tend to use more. The curly fries and mash potato were good but I just really really enjoyed the sweet potato fries. We stopped by on the second day of their soft opening and were pretty surprised by how many people were there. Everyone was socially distant and had masks on of course. About 2/3 of the restaurant was blocked off by a table, stickers were on the floor where they wanted us to stand. Hand sanitizer was present and everything looked safe and clean. The frozen yogurt section was not open yet but once it is open I can imagine this place being so packed. It's such a great addition to the area where Asian food seems to be Americanized and flavors are dialed down. It's nice to have something authentic and delicious to eat. And we hope it'll be a go to spot for us and locals (but not too much cause I'm trying to lose weight lol). Come in for Kung Fu Tea! Add a two piece chicken meal from TkK. They have a good selection of drinks, the boba isn't half bad, and I really like the fried chicken they have! Let me start off by saying i love Kung Fu Tea and i was ecstatic about the new location in Laurel. The cool part about this location in my opinion is that they offer food. The drinks are always good and the food is alright. I love the buttermilk biscuits and i would really appreciate it if i could purchase them separately as the chicken is a little disappointing. Nonetheless, it's a bubble tea place so i won't really criticize the food too much. The primary reason i took away a star is the level of service and organization. I was very disappointed when i placed my order ahead of time and still had to wait in the store for another 10 mins after placing my order 20 mins prior arriving to the store. I had to force my way to the front and inquire about my order which was meet with a lot of confusion between the large team. The funniest thing it was literally right next to the cashier the whole time. There is no clear area for pick up orders and in store orders. There was about to 10 employees behind the counter who were all just moving around aimlessly lol. Only 3 were actually working and overwhelmed. I'm going to attribute the level of confusion and lack for customer service due to the newness of the location and the age of majority of the employees who were present at the time of my visit. Hopefully in the near future they can sort out the kinks. For now I'll just stick to placing my orders on Ubereats to avoid any unnecessary stress, frustration or confusion. read more

It's really 5 stars for staff and great service - minus 100 stars for their infuriating app!! You would think they're willing to get all the money from boba and fried chicken addicts, but noooo. At least the service is fabulous- if you have problems, just call and you can get one of their patient staff to help you out. But be prepared to be frustrated if you order on the app- if any side is out of stock, they don't tell you but will also refuse to let you order your entire order. Be patient. Today I wanted to make sure my drink had longan honey fragrance so I ordered Honey Milk Green Tea with bubbles. Turned out the drink had barely any honey fragrance. I've been a customer for this location for quite a while now, and Only now have I decided to write a review. In short though, your experience as a customer depends on who's working in the shop and pretty expectedly, the time in which you come. Just last week, I went into the shop late at night, and I saw that the shop was in the process of cleaning up and closing, but there was this one guy called Leo who was very patient with helping me and my friend even though it was so late. He gave really nice suggestions on what drinks and toppings that we could have, and even gave us samples of their toppings so we can confirm the taste. I had the best experience in that store that night. While other times, such as just these past few days, I find their other employees lacking the customer service that Leo provided me, probably because I came while they were busy, but still, not all of them were enthusiastic and is willing to give out explanations. Not to mention that sometimes I would find my order being made wrong, such as too sweet or too bitter, depending on the employees working there. For now, my favorite employees there are definitely Leo and this one Spanish-speaking girl who's name I never got to know. The orders they give out are basically always right and they are willing to help customers whenever they have questions or problems.
