They're a fairly new location! I found the store clean and bright! There's ample seating and parking. I placed an order for a brown sugar bubble tea via the kiosk. It was busy but they moved quickly! The employees were friendly. My drink was perfect - sweet but not overly sweet. I added boba (of course). I'd visit again to try their other drinks.

New Milk Tea spot here in Columbia and it may be the best one yet. Right away you can tell that this place stands out from the rest based on their ingredients and presentation alone. Never knew peanuts, raisins, coconuts, and red bean would all go together to make one of my favorite milk tea drinks. They have a focused menu and all of their creations go together well. The two drinks we tried were delicious and I can't wait to go back for more!

Checked out Shuyi for the first time and had to order their cheese matcha bubble tea. I got it with less ice and 50% sweetness. The line was long and service was a bit slow, but it was acceptable since they're probably still working things out and there were so many people. I tried their cheese matcha bubble tea, and I'm glad I didn't add any toppings because it already came with brown sugar pearls. I have to say, it's probably my favorite bubble tea now. I haven't had bubble tea in a long time because most places make it too sweet, so I'm really glad I stopped by.

Finally, there's a new bubble tea spot in Columbia that's delicious AND affordable! It completely lived up to the hype! I visited Shuyi Grass Jelly & Tea during their grand opening and was incredibly impressed. The lines were so long, but despite the large crowd, the staff were SO fast, organized, and efficient! I waited in line and got all of my drinks made correctly in less than 15 minutes. I loved how festive they were too, from the cute boba decorations to handing out red envelopes with coupons to their grand opening specials (BOGO drinks & first 50 customers got a FREE travel mug), it truly built up the excitement for the crowd and made my experience memorable!   As for the drinks, the difference was obvious! These drinks are made with high-quality, real brewed tea leaves and I was so happy tasting fresh fruit in my drinks. Every drink was generously loaded with toppings! I have to say Shuyi is easily one of my top 3 favorite spots in Maryland for bubble tea, the balance of texture and flavor in each sip was incredible! It's hard to pick favorites because every drink was delicious, but I will say I am definitely going back for the mango pomelo sago and strawberry mochi oolong milk tea. Overall, Shuyi is a fantastic addition to Columbia and this spot is definitely a must visit for bubble tea lovers!

Drinks: 4/5 My favorite out of the three we got was their strawberry mochi oolong tea. I ordered with zero sugar and oatmilk, and it was perfect for me. Matcha cloud latte was on the creamier side and not enough matcha flavor. Mango pomelo sago was good but not great (per my friend). Service: 3/5 we came in around 7pm and they close at 8, so the staff looked busy and tired which I totally understand. However it did take them 25 minutes to get us our drinks and there were only ~6 drinks ahead of our order that I heard called out. I also recommend that the place invest in drink carrier trays because some of their drinks come with sip lids that aren't sealed and spill some in the bags they were handed to us in. Ambiance: cozy space to hang out for boba, of note the tables are super small and could only fit a few drink cups so probably not a studying kind of cafe.

Ok wow. I'm a bit of a snob, decided to stop by after picking up a Tous les jours self care caloric treat lol Wait was long but understandable as a new place. Clean interiors, nice decor, narrowed side seating. Two lines-one for a person, the other for the screen self service. Figured I'd go with the strawberry cream cloud matcha since if it's not good it should be sweet. Loved that they asked and offered dairy alternatives without an annoying up charge. Usually not an oat milk fan but it didn't taste strong- it was perfect consistency and taste. The drink not just looked good, somehow the grassy jelly just tasted so fresh and perfectly sweet. I think I'm hooked!!! They have a lot of classic faves like oolong, brown sugar, matcha as well as a yogurt line. I will definitely be back at the detriment of my weight loss goals and am nervous about gaining calories now lol

New bubble spot that's worth a visit. One of the few places that focuses on grass jelly. I got the matcha today and it was pretty good. The location has a lot of parking spots as it's in a shopping center. The location is pretty nice, a decent amount of seating. Standard service, you order at the machine

Went back to try their mango pomelo sago and was not disappointed! I got it with less sugar and it was the perfect amount of sweetness for me. There was no wait and we got our drink quickly now that the promotion is over.

A newer addition to the Columbia area tea options. The menu is smaller than some places but it demonstrated to me how much care and dedication goes into curated those drinks. I tried the strawberry mochi milk tea and it was refreshing and delicious. There was only an option of 100%, 70% or 0% so I was worried the 70% would be too sweet but it was absolutely perfect. The mochi is made in house and perfect to slurp via a straw! Definitely worth a try!

We went during grand opening weekend since we saw they had a BOGO deal and it was worth it! So happy to see a boba spot that opened up nearby us. It took us about an hour to wait in line and get our drinks but the staff was really efficient & the drinks were great! We got the classic grass jelly and strawberry mochi. I loved both but I love the texture of the mochi more and I'm glad I was able to sub with oat milk. Apparently all the drinks can be subbed with oat milk besides the grass jelly one since they use fresh milk. The cafe is nice, clean & smells amazing in there. It will probably be a bit busy for awhile but they did a great job and we even got a tumbler for being the first 50 to make a purchase that day! 5/5 would recommend & I hope they expand the menu to more drinks since I would assume the menu they have is just the grand opening one. Can't wait to go again!

I really enjoyed the strawberry mochi oolong tea. Their signature black grass jelly milk tea had too much topping, making it feel like a trail mix. There was hardly any milk tea in it. I can't wait to try their other flavors!

The Shuyi glass jelly tea is fun to drink for me. They're quite busy for new opening, mostly people order thru the kiosk. But the lady at the counter still nice to took my order since I don't want boba in drink. The shop look clean and smell like herbal tea when I open the door. Definitely I will come back

The line was very very long I'm sure it was just because of the buy one get one free deal so hopefully it isn't long in the future. The drinks were very good. The matcha was amazing and so yummy however the brown sugar boba milk barely had any brown sugar. The drink just tasted like milk. Very underwhelming. The pearls are very good quality. It's a little too small and crowded for me personally. The cashier seemed to be in a mood, they were very busy tho so it's understandable. Overall great matcha and pearls and totally worth it as long as there is no line.

The date from online was mediocre (1 date, no 2nd date), but the drink was far superior to Kung Fu Tea, which I always had a pretty high regard for until that June 2021 day. I visited a few other times in 2024-2025. A Meetup group I'm a part of likes to go here after the dinner & game Meetup. The staff is accommodating as we are rushing to get here before 10 PM closing time, really by 9:45. The organizer of the Meetup suggested ordering ahead on the app, so they aren't so slammed with 10 (or whatever #) of people 15 minutes before closing. I heeded his advice. They are efficient getting the drinks done in a timely manner. Staff is nice, and they aren't abrupt with kicking us out the second it hits 10 PM (like Starbucks the very second it's closing time, they will practically yell at you to get the heck out of there). At Gong Cha, the staff is polite about it, and we try to still rush to clean up and get out. My girlfriend & I will split the largest size for cost & calorie efficiency. Overall, a delicious boba tea. I will say it's a bit on the expensive side in 2025 even compared with some other places, but it's still a solid choice.

I ordered some many years ago, from Amazon, to try them before they were popular and found them too fruity and sour. Tapioca boba, though? LOVE THAT. I adore the chew! The tea is made with Earl grey, which I gotta respect as a Trekkie ;) but the bergamot flavor has always struck me as lemony, like fruity pebbles. It goes great with the coconut flavors.
