Yum, such a fun treat. I was running errands in the area & had some time to kill. So this was actually my very first time checking out this cute little food truck area. Which Kula Kups won me over with their massive menu. Plus with so many mouth watering pictures I almost couldn't decide what to try first. I ended up settling with a delicious dirty chai though. ‼FALSE PRICING‼ this was my first time going to kula kups and the unfortunate reviews are right. the service was alright but i was charged incorrectly for my matcha sago. i was charged $12.57, but the menu displays $9.75. i asked the worker if she could clear the discrepancy, but she said its because the matcha drink is $9 but the matcha dessert is $12, which doesn't explain the discrepancy. i asked her again and she provided the same response. i don't have a problem with the food or service, but businesses should NEVER incorrectly price items. it should always be updated. Pls do a better job updating prices because it's very unacceptable in this economy. read more

Great Drinks, but the Customer Service is a Facade I've visited both of their locations and unfortunately received the same disappointing outcome both times. While the drinks taste great (even if the pricing could be better), the real issue is the owner's behavior. Do not be fooled by the fun, energetic, and polite image she displays on social media,it feels like a 100% facade. In person, she lacks basic customer service skills. There's no greeting, no "thank you," and not even a simple "we will be with you shortly." The wait times are very long, which happens, but to completely ignore customers while they wait is unacceptable. I originally wasn't going to leave a review, but after talking with my coworkers, I couldn't stay quiet. Almost all of them had similarly horrible experiences with the owner. It also brought up a concerning pattern regarding her social media, which exclusively highlights a specific "local" crowd and even brags about her local customer percentage. Although I am local, I don't look it. My coworkers who had terrible experiences are Filipino. The only coworker of ours who received great customer service fits the stereotypical "local" look. Coincidence? Based on our interactions, I highly doubt it. read more

While we were waiting for our food orders we decided to order some drinks as it was getting a bit hot. I ordered Halo halo, Mango Smoothie and Lychee Tea. It took a while for someone to acknowledge us while we were standing there for a while waiting to order. What disappointed me was I didn't feel the aloha welcome at this place. I still ordered my drinks. The halo halo was okay. For $8 it lacked ingredients, the mango smoothie was good and creamy. Now for $5, the Lychee tea was AWFUL as it had NO Lychee flavor at all. My cousin tasted it for me too cause I thought maybe my tastes buds were off but no lychee flavor. LOL How sad is that. I didn't bother to go back and probably won't go back either. Note: In response to the owner comment below. Thank YOU Truly for your response and understanding my experience. I appreciate it. As I travel a lot, I try to be as raw and honest with my reviews and sometimes it's difficult to write ones like this when I have mixed feelings about the orders, I try to see a bigger picture and my overall experience. I honestly did expect the "halo halo" to be like the ones I have tried in many places as it has unique flavors and ingredients. A kind suggestion maybe rename it "Island Style Halo Halo " As your product is not a bad tasting dessert, it's not like the authentic one. As for the tea, it really tasted like unsweetened black tea. MAUI MALL LOCATION. I was very excited to try this place considering I drive all the way to Kihei for my Vietnamese coffee and let me say I was extremely disappointed. I bought their Vietnamese coffee and it was very bad. Completely disregards what Vietnamese coffee actually is (stronger and bold.) I am not joking when I say it taste just like Jack in a box coffee which is very sad to say knowing if I wanted that I could get it from Jack in a box for more coffee and cheaper. Also wait time is extremely long for little drinks, would not recommend. read more

The customer service needs some serious work here. I drove upcountry to get my Kula Kups fix. I saw a few people standing and talking to the girl at the window so I figured they were open, when they finished talking, the girl ignored me and went back in. I walked closer to the window to wait, and another girl came out and told me they weren't open yet. I was about 20 minutes early from opening time so I decided I'd go check out the farmer's market while I wait for them to open. I forgot my phone at home so I had to guesstimate the time while I was walking around. I got back to the truck to find it still closed, I was sure I killed 20 minutes considering how far the walk to the market is, and also because I stood in a line to order empanadas at the market as well. I sat on the picnic tables right in front of the window/trailer and waited for a while, I figured they were still getting things together, no one acknowledged me despite me visiting earlier. A "hey! Be right with you!" would have been nice. Finally she moved the "closed" sign up but didn't call to me. So I got up after a few more minutes and stood by the window and waited. When she came over to the window, there was no "thanks for waiting!", just a "hi" and I proceeded to greet and then order. Once I was done ordering, I sat back down. After a few minutes, I got back up and went to the Thai truck to ask them what time it was, she told me it was 1019! I must have ordered at 1015, and they must have put the "closed" sign up around 1012/1013. I sat back down to wait for my drink, it took about 10 minutes to get my one drink and I was the only person there. It wasn't even worth the wait or the hassle, I have been here many times and have enjoyed my usual drinks, but after today's experience, I won't be back. The boba was hard and crunchy and the smoothie was so thick and ice-y that I couldn't even drink it. Not the quality of product that I am used to from this place. If you are looking for great boba and great customer service, I'd highly recommend Westside Boba or just go to Kaahumanu. read more

The service needs to be worked on a little. It took about 10 minutes to be acknowledged and my family and I were standing right in front of the window. A simple "we'll be right with you" could do wonders. It came to a point where my wife walked around the trailer thinking we were at the wrong window . Secondly the products. I just feel like they were all missing something. The mango sticky rice tasted watery and lacked flavor. The sticky rice was bland. It just didn't give a wow factor that we anticipated. The kalo sago lacked flavor too. The best part was honestly the ice cream. Unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. read more

Whenever I am in the Upcountry Pukalani area and in need of a treat, I try to stop by Kula Kups. It's a little food trailer located in the Kula Malu food truck lot. They have a surprisingly pretty large menu of offerings that include shave ice, coffee, boba, and various other drinks. I have tried their biscoff coffee, slushy, avokado and more. My most recent discovery was their boba cake which is topped with cheese foam and boba. It looks similar to the super popular soufflé pancakes, but it's more of a Japanese style bread/bun. It's delicious! Love the cheese topping. Their avokado is also delicious and comes with tapioca balls, a generous serving of avocados, condensed milk, and more. I really enjoyed the mix of all the flavors and it reminded me of a halo halo but with only my favorite parts. Haha. I've also tried the mango bango and that tasted ok. It wasn't very sweet and the mango was frozen. I think it would be so much better with freshly cut mango, crushed ice, and a big helping of condensed milk! The menu items are a little pricey, but still a nice treat every once in a while. Stop by if you're in the upcountry area! read more

I would like to say it more 3.25 stars than 3. I've came here multiple times within the past 6 months and I like them a lot, I do. But each time, the waiting period for their stuff increases. The last time I waited (last week), it took 15 minutes to get their seasonal pumpkin kup (I don't remember what they called it) and another 15 for their mochi kup. I'm just at a loss why it takes so long? It's azuki beans, strawberries (maybe 2 at most in the cup), a mochi paste, shaved ice, and a scoop of ice cream. I've attempted to make it at home and it takes nowhere near 15 minutes to build one. Sure, it doesn't taste the same bc of the recipe but the general idea of it shouldn't take that long, right? But their pumpkin one doesn't even have shaved ice in there, it's just a scoop of ice cream and some pumpkin. I'm just shocked? Is nothing prepped beforehand? read more

The star of the Maui trip! I've been following kula cups for sometime and I'm glad I took a vacation out there. The employee was so sweet and helpful. I was torn between so many choices but I ended up getting the mango bango which was amazing! Only down side was the long line, but it's a popular place so I expected it to be busy. If I ever take a trip to Maui again this place will be on my must visit! read more

I always come here with one positive attitude and very rarely get one back, the food 'ono the service horrible. I know the employees are mostly highschool girls but that no excuse for a business to have poor service. It's more attitude than dessert I be getting. This place does have really good drinks. I give it two stars because the customer service is horrible and the employees we've encountered were kinda rude. It's usually one or two girls working. Every time we've gone, we stand there for several minutes before anyone even acknowledges us. It's fine if you're busy but it takes 5 seconds to say, thanks for waiting we're just really busy right now, instead of ignoring your customers. Super simple.
