Stumbled across this while shopping in Makawao. It was a Monday, so they only have poke and drinks on Mondays. The poke was excellent. Incredibly fresh, good flavor in the dressing, and I liked that it came with a kale / veggie salad as well. The trio of poke was also good, and that way you get to try all of the flavors at once. I enjoyed the spicy pineapple flavor as well. It's a food truck that's stationary in this little courtyard, so you walk up and order and then grab a seat. So cute!!!!! Farm to today but sushi Employee (owner?) was so kind and friendly. The outdoor seating and permanent food truck vibe was fun and different. Each of the menu items has it's own fun spin to a traditional concept by how the chef adds flavors and ingredients. I loved the creativity! Personally I wasn't used to the fish I ordered and I think that's on me for just not loving it but also wasn't expecting kale in my sushi bowl. A small food truck serving some delicious sushi tucked in a nook on the lanes of Makawao's main street with just the sweetest chef. He was the only one doing all the work from taking the order to cooking and he was still so patient and smiling throughout. I was eager to try it as they claim to be a farm to table sushi spot. Food quality was good albeit overpriced. $27 for their sushi bowl with Avocado. It should be renamed to rice bowl, because there was barely any sushi. Especially disappointing because we had to wait at least 30 minutes to get our lunch order (mildly understandable because only one employee working). This is a very good sushi bar... They feature inventive hand-rolls all made with super fresh locally sourced ingredients. We had three rolls... spicy tuna, smoked marlin and shrimp and scallop. Our hand-rolls were made by Ericka she has mad sushi skills and made us delicious plump hand-rolls. She is also super friendly and made delicious suggestions. Satori sits in its own mini courtyard between the brick-and-mortar shops, along with its own seating area. The staff are quick and friendly, quite knowledgeable about local seafood. LILIKOI SPICY TUNA: Can never go wrong with ahi on the island~ Everything is ever so fresh and crisp. Comes with soy sauce and wasabi. I'm with Shelly on this one. I came here because of the solid reviews online and it's convenience to my accommodation. However, I was really disappointed. Although I appreciate the ideology behind this concept, it just really was a let down that wasn't going to break anything but my bank account for what it was worth. The highlights were the sushi rice and the seaweed. The ingredients were fresh, but put together, it seemed like I would have been better off making these back in my own kitchen. The ramen didn't have a strong enough dashi or miso flavor. I honestly couldn't tell you what the broth was supposed to be. The macadamia nuts also added an unwanted texture to a small cup. This place is pretty cool. It's a food truck that has its own outdoor dining surrounded by nice big trees. I got the last salmon hand roll and was pleasantly surprised. Such a lovely location. And clearly such potential. Sadly, the food is mediocre at best. Unfortunately , Sushi was unavailable when I dined there. I had a rice bowl. Rice was adequate but served Ice cold. The fresh vegetables were essentially salad and were underdressed. Very little flavor at all. The vegan pesto ? I think that's what it was, and it was also devoid of flavor . I also added the hamakaua mushrooms. They were cooked nicely and perhaps a little salt in the cooking would enhance their flavor. They had tamari on the table and it was the lightest tamari I have ever not tasted. $17 for the bowl plus $3 for the mushrooms. A tad overpriced given it was a little more than a cup of cooked rice with not a lot of salad on top. This is all so easily fixable. A light touch is always nice...completely devoid of flavor is not. Come on guys, you can do so much better. read more

Really fresh ingredients used in all the dishes - the menu is very fusion with local ingredients. The temaki hand rolls are large and enough for one. We ordered the Lilikoi and the Hanalei. We added a ramen bowl for each and it was plenty. I had the Sushi Bowl which came with fresh pickled vegetables and fresh fish. We discovered Satori on a day trip to Makawao. It was one of really fortunate things you find when you don't make specific plans. Get there a little early to get a spot in line and to ensure they don't run out of whatever it is you want, or the daily special. We had the daily special hand roll "Kampachi and Green" and a Ho'Okipa hand roll and Ramen w Kauai shrimp and my daughter had a Miso soup. Everything was simply amazing and fresh. I'm so sad to report that I was disappointed in my decision to try Satori once I saw my usual thai food truck was closed. I spent $50 and got tiny portions. Had to go back out to get more food! The ramen ($10) was overly salty and really not that great. Tiny too. The Shaman Bowl ($15) was literally a bowl of rice with a few scallions and kale on top! Twi Chai teas ($6) were the size of an espresso. Since that equals $37 I suppose my mom adding 3 pieces of grilled shrimp to her cup o soup ramen was $13?? Yikes.
