It's located in a small cluster of food trucks, which is really neat because you get that true local, roadside vibe. Stopped by the Poke Bobs food truck for a late lunch on our Road to Hana journey. We ordered our food, and the friendly staff member prepared it right away. They have sriracha and soy sauce available to add on to your liking. We split the poke bowl and poke burrito. Both were excellent. The poke was super fresh and so light in color that I thought it was a tomato! But I think I like eating my poke in bowl form better. We took our food to go and headed down to the picnic tables at the Hana Beach Park to enjoy the ocean air and views. I highly recommend taking the nice break from the car. Omg you haven't lived til you stopped at Poke Bobs. Everything about this place is so awesome! They have something for everyone if you're not a big poke person. I got their kabob plate and man was that so good. Their service is top notch. The vibes were great. Their steak was perfectly cooked with juicy flavorful meat that paired so well with the grilled pineapple. Rice was cooked just right and the salad was so yummy and a great crunch to eat with the soft meat. After a long day of hikes and waterfalls especially that 2 hour drive from the airport this food really satisfied me. I throughly enjoyed my meal and ate it up. Didn't leave a grain of rice or salad. I highly recommend you try it out. The food is definitely made with love and much better than most of the food trucks around here. It's hard to find good quality eats on this side of the island where things aren't as easily accessible but they did an amazing job of satisfying me and I'm a pretty picky foodie. I came here after hiking at Haleakalā because of the high reviews in yelp. I got here around 6:15 pm and the woman working at the truck seemed very overwhelmed-- she was working the truck solo and it seemed like she was backed up 5 orders and I had to wait for a while before she even took my order. She seemed frazzled but the food coming out looked decent. There aren't too many options open in Hana around 6:30 pm and this seemed like a decent spot. Bring cash if you can, otherwise the credit card app on the workers phone is a bit temperamental. It was $22 for my poke bowl. I've gotta say, this Poke is pretty awesome! The fish is fresh and the rice is warm and fluffy. The portion is decent for the $17 price tag. This place is just off the Hana Hwy and it shares its location with a few other food trucks. Decir-it's a food truck, so not much to say about it. It's got picnic tables on the asphalt and no shade. I'll say the bugs were going nuts out there today. I know, not their fault, but still needed mentioning. Service-was great. The young guy helping was very friendly and very Hawaiian. Food was good, but nothing about it that screamed over the top phenomenal. Not an easily eaten meal after a long day of exploring (poor cutlery and presentation). The people who worked there are phenomenal. This all being said, We went there for an early dinner since there really aren't sit down restaurants outside of the resort. I sort of wish we had just gone to the resort restaurant. After a long day of exploring, the poke bowl was perfect for my husband, but the kabob combo (steak and chicken) was physically hard for me to eat. The location, like much of Hana, is a food truck. There was an evening wind gusting off the ocean causing things to be flying. I physically held down the umbrella over the table when I decided it would be easier to eat back at the resort. The kabobs were in a to-go box, but the poke bowl wasn't easily transported. When we got home, I stabbed the steak and the fork immediately broke. I ended up going through 5 of these crummy local compostable forks between the steak and the pineapple (chicken was tender and easily cut). In the end, I had to finish my meal with a spoon, because it was the only scooping tool left. I understand the restrictions on plasticware on the island, but then the restaurant should compensate by cutting the food before it is served. I'd rather just have "steak bites" or "chicken bowl" than have to go through 6 forks a meal trying to cut the meat. I think it also shows the steak wasn't properly tenderized. Overall the flavor was good, but I was just so frustrated with the eating itself. 4 rather than 5 stars because while the food was good, it was familiar. Well done but nothing really unique about it that made me say "woah!" Lastly, the salad dressing wasn't very good to me. I prefer a more acidic salad dressing. Grilled pineapple was good, but I lost two forks to it. read more
