    Awesome pops!
    Joanna M.

The road to Hana (and the road from Hana too) is a food truck lover's Eden, particularly those with a sweet tooth. Shaka Pops is a cooler attached to a bicycle across from Hasegawa's General Store, and before the drive up to the other market. So, prime real estate for selling pops since everyone will drive by at some point in the day. It doesn't hurt that the woman selling the pops is really friendly and will wave you down with a delicious looking pop in hand. We stopped in mid-day which was high time to have a popsicle (when isn't it high time?) The balmy Hana weather lends itself well to a cooling sweet treat. Passionfruit, orange, and guava (affectionately known as POG) and the lava flow (you'll just have to taste for yourself to see what flavor(s) this one is) were our pops of choice, and quite good. Their dairy pops, particularly Maui Coffee, were appealing as well. It had been years and years since I had treated myself to a popsicle, but these popped with flavor and made up for lost time.

I had mixed feelings about these pops. After a long ride on the Hana Highway a nice Ice pop sounded amazing. We stopped at this little roadside stand. The chocolate banana was decent but it was a little too chocolatey for me. The pineapple ginger was way too gingery for me. It overwhelmed my whole mouth. For nearly $10 for two pops I was a little steep. I appreciate that they were made from all natural ingredients, but the Flavors just didn't live up to my expectations.

    My watermelon mojito popsicle!!! Tasty..

After a freaking long and windy drive... we been driving for so many hours, I need a treat and shaka popsicle is the way to go. Fancy flavors available but I went with watermelon mojito that looks likr a slice of watermelon. Tasted, just like watermelon with minty mojito. Refreshing!! Cash only for $4.75/pop!

Everybody loves the fresh fruit in the homemade Shaka Pops!

Shakapops is a great stop in Hana! Angela, the proprietor and Venezuelan ex-pat is a wonderfully sweet and sincere woman who greets every person who passes with a shaka and aloha! The strawberry-lime Shakapop was so fresh and fruity it was more like a frozen fruit salad than some chemical flavored crap you can get elsewhere. Her smile and warmth can be felt across Hana, luckily even in the 80 degree heat, her Shakapops can cool you back down!

Pineapple ginger is the best flavor! Fresh fruit, unique flavors, and it's all hand made. A lovely treat on the road to Hana.

Good popsicles run by a lovely lady. A bit pricey at $4.75 a pop. Especially enjoyed the chocolate or mocha flavor. Would recommend.

Delicious dessert option in Maui. My husband and I shared the only chocolate-y one and loved it. Perfect treat on a warm Maui day.

The popsicles were overpriced ($4.50 each) and mediocre. The owner was friendly, but I wish we had kept on walking.

We had the passion orange guava and the lava flow, and I will dream about these popsicles for the rest of my life.
