The boba was fresh, warm and chewy. The cookie butter on the sides was sweet. The crumble on top was amazing! Didn't like the foam, but that's just personal preference. Spotted the truck on our way to get guri guri (sadly closed today), saw all the high ratings on Yelp and decided to give them a shot. The kid got a brown sugar boba milk (20oz) and I got a Thai tea (16oz). All drinks come with boba. We requested 50% sweetness for both. Coming from Honolulu where we're spoilt for choice with a variety of bubble teas from and/or inspired by Taiwan, I was a little underwhelmed. IMO, the boba was unflavored and a touch mushy but the kid says his were sweet and chewy (?!) so he theorized my tea was sweet to begin with. On the other hand, he says the brown sugar syrup is not as intense as the ones he's had before. My Thai tea tasted Thai tea-ish. On hindsight I probably should have ordered the classic or Jasmine milk tea. (Also the Thai food truck next door offers Thai tea... ) Service was friendly and competent though. The young man rattled off their bestseller (avocado ice-blended), explained the difference between brown sugar milk tea and lava tea (lava tea is tea based), and what Milo dinosaur is. (I'm familiar with Milo dinosaur in Southeast Asia but am curious if it's the same here; sounds like it is). It's in a cute little compound with a few other "food trucks" and tented eating areas and a DJ? Parking is plentiful since it's basically at the edge of Maui Mall. Needed something sweet to drink to pair with my poke bowl, and found this boba truck located in a food truck area. I was feelin a fruit tea and the sweet girl working in the truck told me, their strawberry guava was their most popular. Sold! I ordered the 20 oz size $8 50% sweet, which was worth it since the 16 oz was only 50 cents less. I was told the fruit tea was a jasmine green tea and that each drink came with boba. He absolutely loves this place, especially the Biscoff-flavored treat--it's quickly become his go-to. The flavor is rich, unique, and seriously addictive. The service here is just as sweet as the menu. The woman who works there is always smiling and incredibly friendly, making the experience even better every time we visit. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and it shows in the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Omg ever since I discovered this food truck from a yelp elite experience, I literally cannot stay away! I live just minutes away and I'm not afraid to admit that I'm there almost every day they're open. I tried their best seller, avocado graham shake and the hype is real! It's been awhile since I've had a dominantly avocado dessert so I was nervous but they got me hooked! Plus I'm not known to grab boba, I'll opt for jellies instead but West Side Boba's boba is like extra crack on top of their already crack filled avocado graham shake lol. They serve it warm in the drink and it just tastes fresh. It's soft and chewy in a good way unlike other spots you see them scoop it from a bucket like it's been sitting forever and it's kind of hard. I just went and to my surprise they RAN OUT of avocado, I'm telling you it's that good. But it gave me a chance to try their seasonal mango graham shake. Also yummy! But avocado graham is my first love with extra boba! We call it avocado salad, cause you know, girl math. The owners are both super friendly so stop reading and just head over and order up! Westside Boba was originally located on the "Westside" in Lahaina and relocated to Kahului following the wildfires. I decided to stop by their new location after a few drinks piqued my interest. I have been here a handful of times since then and I have to say, I am a fan! Their menu consists of milk-based and tea-based drinks as well as fruit teas. They also have add-ons like cheese foam and my favorite, pastillas. I haven't seen anyone else offer pastillas and it's the one thing that keeps me coming back for more. It's basically a thickened condensed milk, so if you love condensed milk like me, it's a must! I also love all things malt flavored so the chocolate malt with pastillas is my go-to order. I've also tried the brown sugar boba with cheese brulee, dirty brown sugar, and the biscoff boba. They all taste good and each offers a little something unique compared to your run of the mill boba offerings. All in all, I enjoy coming here. Service is quick and easy and I never have to wait very long. After a few visits, the owner knows me by name and my go-to order which was a nice surprise. It goes to show that they pay attention to their customers. Definitely recommend a stopping here for your boba fix. We were craving boba so decided to give this new boba truck a try. We've passed by several times before and it seemed like they had a steady stream of customers so we figured it must be good and we were right! This truck is located in the new food truck hub in the old American Savings bank parking lot near Maui Mall. There a few picnic tables if you want to enjoy your food there. They have milk, tea, and fruit based drinks. We ordered the brown sugar boba milk. It was so rich and creamy! The boba was soft, chewy, and sweet. It's one of the best bobas we've had in awhile! The drinks were delicious and the boba was perfectly sweet and chewy. YAY! We ordered a classic milk tea, a Blue Mountain coffee milk tea, and a classic tea (no milk). All were made perfectly, and the young woman working was very willing to customize the sweetness levels. Loved the tshirt and wish they sold them. Only downside if it took a little long, since the worker had such little space. But I could tell she made the drinks with care and was doing her best. Support this business! I lived on Oahu for 2 years and there was always a boba shop on every corner. Really missed that. I tried the boba at ABC store and it just wasn't cutting it... and it's not feasible to drive to QKC just to get boba. My sister heard about this place from a co-worker, we live Honokowai and literally don't drive into Lahaina. (We drive thru it... lol) we had time to kill one day so we went here to try. All we knew was it's somewhere Lahainaluna. We were expecting a larger food truck, almost drove past it. But it's a trailer type food stall. Outside says cash or venmo only, but it's worth trying to find cash. No real parking but there's a lot of space to just pull to the side. The boba was chewy and sweet. They also give plenty! They were out of egg custard, but that's OK since we're simple people. We got the brown sugar and it wasn't overly sweet. My sister said they didn't have any basic regular milk tea but that's fine since the business just started out. I am hopeful they do well and expand more in the future! The menu contains around 10 tea options with the majority being milk tea options. We ordered the passion tea with lychee and the brown sugar milk tea with boba. We ordered 6 different drinks and they were a SO good (and we're spoiled by bomb boba from the Bay Area). I ordered the Brown Sugar Boba Milk w/ Cheese Brûlée. It did take a while to get my order because there were a few other customers before me. When I finally received my order, the gentleman handing the drink stopped and told me he had to make another drink because he noticed there was a leaf inside (not sure where the leaf came from). I was willing to wait since I had already been waiting and I really wanted to try this boba truck out. In less than 10 seconds, he calls my name and said my order is ready (I'm hoping he did give me a new drink and not just remove the leaf and give me the same drink). The drink overall was too sweet for me. I'm willing to give this spot another try since I really want to find a good boba spot.
