Very happy with my visit to Kuhl's! This spirit-shop was recommended to us from a local friend. I picked out a shirt I liked online to find out their in store selection is even bigger. Highly recommend stopping in rather than ordering online (they do offer buy online-pickup in store). The older gentleman was so kind to my toddler and I. She was walking around the store in typical toddler fashion and he didn't mind one bit. I have a feeling he might be the owner. Although they were out of my size in a particular shirt, I found one I liked even better. He told me that the beginning of the school year gets a little scarce with everyone stopping in for game day supplies, understandably. So... shop early! They had everything from high school, college, NFL, MLB, FCC. A large selection of local HS wear; short and long sleeve shirts, sweat pants, beanies, ball caps, bumper stickers, mugs. Another cool store that I found in Anderson--well maybe it's hot--is Kuhl's Hot Sportspot. Kuhl's specializes in screen-printing and embroidery for all kinds of apparel such hats, jerseys, jackets, sweatpants, and t-shirts. While much of their business relates to sports teams, they can also outfit your company with embroidered shirts, for example. Two of their well known clients, by the way, include the Anthony Munoz Foundation and the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. The screen-printing and embroidery (and all of the possibilities/options) they offer is great, but they also have sporting goods and clothing items. They have baseball caps for all Major League Baseball teams, a ton of Reds and Bengals jerseys and t-shirts, lots of college apparel (including both local favorites and others like Indiana, West Virginia, and Kansas State), and some clothing for area high schools like Anderson and McNicholas. You can order much of that online, while they also have some posters and sports equipment such as youth practice football gear in the store. I also noticed some cool framed photos and posters on the wall, although I'm not sure that those are for sale. Overall, Kuhl's is a really neat store if you are looking for screen-printing/embroidery, fan gear, sports equipment, and even trophies (their website is real good too and you can shop online, always a plus these days). They really offer a lot for the sports fan and player, but unfortunately they weren't all that friendly or helpful. Went to get some patches put on a backpack. We weren't sure if it was something they'd offer so we went to discuss what we needed done and I may have spoken to the same woman as another reviewer below, who found her very rude. The woman we spoke to was not rude but was certainly very blunt and brisk, but I believe that's in part because of what we wanted done and the exact placement and order of everything, and that we all wanted to make sure we were clear on what the final result should be. The pack was a little bit awkward to work with and she did warn us that one of the placements might not work out, she gave a quote and a timeline and let us know she would be in touch and let us know if there were any issues with what we wanted. Despite the week including a holiday the pack was finished within a few days and actually came back at a lower price than quoted. The quality of the sewing job is great and the placement is exactly as requested. We didn't expect there to be, but there was no damage to the bag, so basically it came back perfect. I feel bad for the reviewer below but personally I felt it was more of a difference in communication style which for me was not a problem and I am more than happy with the finished results. The man at the counter who checked us out was very personable and helpful as well, we spoke with him on the phone before visiting and he did his best to answer our questions before we came. We chatted briefly when I picked up the bag as well. Anyway, we personally had a good experience here on all fronts, although I understand some people might not work well with the interactions with some of the staff. read more

The people who own/run this little business act like they truly couldn't care less if you patronized their business or not. The first time I went there, I was looking for some baseball accessories, and the old lady gave me a vague, "I don't know if we have those," then walked away. Well, I found them on the shelf by myself. Hey, thanks for the help! I went back about a year later to get some embroidery work done on a jacket of mine, and the old fart who apparently runs the place waited on me, but acted like he had to be someplace more interesting, like maybe planning his funeral... When I went to pay for the work, he quoted me the price, then added a snarky "the embroidery work is gonna be worth more than the cheap jacket." Well, I walked out, never been back. Sick of places thinking they're doing me a favor by accepting my business. read more

Whoever answers the phones for this company, needs to be replaced asap. I called with some simple questions and the lady who assisted me on the phone was very rude and had a condescending tone to her voice. She made me feel like I was an absolute moron, did not answer any of my questions, and I ended up hanging up on her because after hearing the attitude in her voice, I was no longer interested in this company's service. I am definitely spreading the word about this employees attitude and will make sure to turn any friends/co-workers/family away from this company. Whoever answers the phones for Kuhl's needs to be replaced ASAP. I called a bit ago with some questions regarding prices and the lady I spoke with could not have been any more rude or condescending. I had some simple questions because I work for a company that was interested in getting some t-shirts and hats made and this lady was rude from the very beginning. I ended up hanging up on her because I was so turned off from the tone in her voice, that I quickly became uninterested in the company as a whole. Not only will I not recommend this company to anyone in the future, but I will definitely spread the word to any friends, family, or co-workers looking for this kind of service in the future. I would give no stars if it were an option- TERRIBLE first impression. I honestly feel insulted after talking to that lady on the phone. read more
