I've already reviewed the main Soccer Village store in Blue Ash, but I found myself by the one in Anderson Township so thought I would check it out. It isn't much of a surprise that the Blue and Anderson stores are very similar, but one thing that makes the Anderson store standout is its location. Unlike the Blue Ash store which is tucked away on a windy Deerfield Road and not near many other businesses, the Anderson store is in a busy shopping center off Beechmont Avenue. You are more likely to just come across it while out in Anderson, seeing that it is in a busy area. That is obviously good for business because there probably aren't any other soccer specialty stores around.
One of the things I first noticed in the Blue Ash location is that their carpet appeared to be the same turf/material that you would find on an indoor soccer field. That is no different at the Anderson shop, and it really pulls the store and theme together while also providing some color and a good appearance. The location seemed to have more soccer balls than the other one I've been to, while there soccer shoe and clothing collection is very big as well. I even saw a rack dedicated to referees (jerseys and shorts, but I'm sure the red and yellow cards are sold separately). It really is a great store if you are a beginning player, a competitive player, a coach, or a referee.
Soccer Village has done a great job by expanding (from Blue Ash) out to Western Hills, West Chester, and Anderson because it is really serving almost all parts of the area. I think the Anderson location is just as good as any of the others, but its far Eastside location makes it a great store if you live nearby or play for one of the area high schools (Anderson, McNicholas, etc.) or club teams (Cincinnati Classics Hammer FC). Overall it is a very good store with a great set up, but I didn't think they were quite as helpful as the Blue Ash location. Nevertheless, if you want soccer gear, then they definitely will have it, if not in the store then surely online. read more
