Some were thirst and some were hungry, so I suggested we try this place. We didn't have a reservation but it was early evening. We were able to get a table for 5 quick. It's a nice place, felt classy. Luckily we came in looking classy. Our server was a nice guy. He took our orders, including my Mai Tai which was off menu. We also ordered different bites for the table. I got a tamale and also the croquetas. Both were very good, and the Mai Tai was perfect. It's got a touristy energy, a little overly Cuban. But honestly its probably not noticeable unless your from South Florida. The waiter was able to take orders and conversate in Spanish and English which was good for our table. My girlfriend and I were looking for a spot for date night, and while we were in between plans--grabbing food before a movie and hitting an arcade nearby--we came across Kuba Cabana. It looked like a very upscale Cuban spot and instantly made us feel fancy dining there. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, and they accepted walk-ins, which was a plus. We started with the tuna tartare as an appetizer and it was amazing. They even had bottled Coke, which my girlfriend loved. For my entrée, I had the churrasco and it was so good, especially with the chimichurri sauce. My girlfriend ordered the braised beef entrée and it was incredible as well. I came as a plus one for my hubby's office party. The aesthetic is very IG worthy plus there was a DJ and live music. I think it may have been overwhelming with the amount of people that were there for the bartenders to service--there was about 6 of them, so it took awhile to get our drinks. Well what started out as a terrible experience at Cooper Blues ended up with a great night at this place. No they didn't have any tables but the bar was huge and we were able to enjoy DJ Sama and dance and drank with a great ambiance and never having to ask for service as the bartender was on point. I made a dinner reservation at Kuba Cabana in Doral prior to their 10:00pm event for my birthday. My group and I spent over $600 on dinner and drinks in the two hours leading up to the event. We understood that dinner and the ticketed event were separate. That was fine. What was not fine was what happened next. I had already purchased a "6 People Table" ticket online for the event. The ticket clearly states "6 People Table." There was absolutely no disclosure during checkout that this only meant the "right" to a table. When we arrived for the event portion, the hostess told us that in order to actually sit at the table we purchased, we were required to buy bottle service. For the two tables our group needed, that meant over $700 more on the spot. She even stated that it's the restaurant's policy to have guests buy tickets online first and then explain how it "really works" at the door. So to summarize: * We spent $600+ on dinner. * We paid in advance for a 6-person table. * We were then told we don't get the table unless we spend $700 more. That is a blatant bait-and-switch. I was put in an impossible position in front of my birthday guests -- pay up or ruin the night. If tables require mandatory bottle service, that must be clearly disclosed before purchase. Selling something labeled "6 People Table" and redefining it upon arrival is deceptive and unethical. Absolutely unacceptable business practice. read more

Came in late on a Tuesday evening and it was very quiet. The atmosphere and decor is lively and I can see why this would be a hot spot to be at. The waitress was amazing at answering my menu questions and making adaptions to be cocktail. She checked to make sure I was ok with the adaptions and was willing to change the way it was made. I had the classic pina colada with a rum floater. For dinner I went with her recommendation of the churasco which was flavorful. I loved the chimichurri. Last Wednesday we drove to Miami to enjoy Strings Band's performance at Kuba Cabana. It was an amazing experience. The place is beautifully decorated and well located with nearby parking garage. We are foodies so of course we had to have dinner. Our server Stephanie was excellent and did a great job explaining us the different options. We were a party of four, two of us selected the prix fix option and two of us selected from the regular menu. Staff were unfriendly and uncaring. I have an onion allergy so I asked the server if certain items on the menu contained onions. He stated that some do but that he wasn't certain which ones. I asked this man 2-3 times to go to the kitchen to confirm but he refused each time. Eventually he "remembered" that the calamari and burger (except for kuba sauce) didn't, so I went with those two options. The calamari was good but it came topped with green onion, so I had to personally scrape them off. The burger on the other hand was sad and depressing. It was way too salty, and the meat was dry and burnt. They also didn't add pickles because those apparently are made with onions. Had I known I'd be eating straight meat and cheese, I wouldn't have ordered it. I was only able to eat half of it because it was so gross. Food took forever to arrive and getting the server to come by our table was impossible, so I just dealt with it. If I had had the option to not leave a tip, I would've taken it, but of course there's a 20% service charge included. Never coming back. read more

The place itself is a vibe -- think loud music, big space, indoor + outdoor seating -- great for groups. The music is semi loud but it's a Cuban place so you should expect it. Service, music and decor was top tier and just amazing. But not all of the food was good. Yovar was my server and he was absolutely amazing, friendly, and very attentive to our table! We had a reservation for 8 on Saturday night at 7:30PM. I spoke with Melissa she's specified we needed it to be indoor she stated she COULD accommodate us but that indoor reservations had a 2 hour limit. She then requested my credit card number CVV Expiration Zip code to hold the reservation and threatened to charge me per person if we didn't show up on time. We arrived at 720pm. The hostess Gabriela, treated my family poorly and refused the indoor reservation and stated the indoor reservation were overbooked and my family could only eat outside. After speaking to the manager a blonde white woman "Ema" all she offered was her apologies. Mind you my reservation clearly states Standard Seating! If you choose to come here expect to be treated like a dog, they include tip in your total and the food is acceptable but the service is absolutely garbage. This place doesn't deserve my money or yours. This business doesn't have the adequate employees in place since not even the manager knew how to make it right by us. They have 0 customer service skills. The food is average, definitely not worth the way they treat you. Upper management beware, it's your frontline employees ruining this business for you. I forgot when this place burned down; the current restaurant was rebuilt. I visited this establishment on January 19th. I met up with a few friends to catch up and we randomly selected this restaurant. The restaurant was beautiful. We deceived to sit outside so I didn't get to see the full inside. I was able to see through the window that the inside looked as amazing as the outside. There was a live band playing music and singing. Our server was very attentive and explained everything to us since it was our first time. The menu is pretty small and since we couldn't really figure out what we wanted, we just ordered a few appetizers while we caught up. I ordered the chicken thighs which were very tasty. I also ordered the plantains which were also amazing. My friends ordered the soup of the day, chicken empanadas, octopus carpaccio and a house salad. They also enjoyed their food. The dish names are written in Spanish on the menu but the descriptions are in English. Also if you appear to speak Spanish the servers will speak to you in Spanish but they also speak English. The top sirloin was a big disappointment - it was comparable to what you can get from a local Cuban spot and not worth the price. It was also very salty. The ambiance of this place is super dope - we went for a Tuesday night dinner so there wasn't a performance or club vibe which wasn't what we were looking for. It was a very sultry feel and good for a bday dinner. Service is good. Drinks are pricey which idk if that's why I only ordered one, or that it was really strong. TBD.
