Prices are incredibly reasonable here -- especially for airport food!! I some of the best seasoned black beans. The ropa viaja was delicious, perfectly seasoned. It could have benefitted from a longer stew time, and it was not super tender, but the flavor certainly compensated. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. I think my dish was around $12. read more

Inside the Miami airport on a layover to San Juan, we were looking for a place that might have representative local or Spanish food, and this was about the only place in the terminal that we could find. Amusing to see the anti-Castro brothers message on the menu! I am surprised to say that I don't think I have tried real cuban sandwiches until I tried these: very crisp bread with a softer warm middle, excellent and filling. A very nice start to the trip, skip McDonalds! read more

I had lunch here on my way back to PHX. I was dining alone and just had a lemonade (canned) and a Cuban sandwich. I'd never had a Cuban sandwich before, it was okay. There was something in it (perhaps the type of pickles) that I wasn't a fan of, but otherwise it was nicely prepared. The service was good and there were a lot of people dining in so it looks like a popular spot. read more

The food was amazing I had chicken empanadas and pork tamale and it was outstanding to in our group had a Cuban style of the hamburger and absolutely loved it. The coffee was outstanding could I have several more cups just because it's so flavorful. The staff was attentive but didn't seem to really care about our opinion. Looks decent but service was crap, we each ordered two eggs with hash browns and coffee. They included gratuity (assuming because nobody leaves tips) and it was $37. Are you freaking kidding me. The eggs were cold and the hash browns were fresh out of a microwave and heat tray. Avoid this place. Looks sort of "airport charming" but go to Starbucks and save $25. #ripoff read more

Maybe I'm not being fair considering this is an airport joint, but I did hear and read some good things about it while trying to occupy myself during a long layover in MIA. Sadly, I was disappointed. I went with a mojito for a drink, and it was nothing special. I ordered the Cuban burger and fries, which was really kind of sad. The burger had no flavor, and the fries were just standard frozen fare. When I was asked if I wanted cheese, I requested pepper jack. Instead I got American, which I frankly despise. I asked to have this adjusted, and the bartender couldn't understand me. He got the manager who told me they didn't have any pepper jack. I didn't feel like arguing, so I dealt with it. And when I asked for mustard, I was given two small packets of Heinz. Again, one can't expect much from an airport restaurant, but this was a letdown. read more

Layover in Miami on the way home..almost the noon hour. Our gate was right across from Ku-Va and next to Wendy's. Stood in line at Wendy's for 20+ minutes for the kids, but didn't feel like eating it myself. Glad to be so close to Ku-Va. It was busy here too, but not chaotic like Wendy's. Ordered a Cuban Sandwich and juice for the kids. Service was fast and friendly. The sandwich was good, perfect for a quick lunch, and definitely better than Wendy's! Took it to-go and ate at our seats in the gate, but they had a good-sized dining-in area too. If we're ever back at MIA and have enough time, we'll try out other menu items. read more

Do not eat here if you have a flight to catch. The positive: The food I did get was tasty. The negative: I went to this restaurant on a layover in Miami. I asked to see a menu before sitting down and after asking for a table told the waitress I knew what I wanted to order. She walked away and a waiter came over to serve me. He spoke little English and with such a heavy accent I had trouble understanding him. I asked twice if the waitress could come back over and he didn't get her. I gave him my order and he told me there's a special tonight for the dish I ordered but with a different sauce. He described the sauce and I said no I would prefer the entree from the menu. I waited 35 minutes for my food to come out and it was not what I ordered. The waiter tried to tell me that I ordered the special. I had asked for a seasoned white fish fillet and was brought a seafood stew. Not even close. The waiter did finally take it back and said he'd bring me what I ordered. I think. It was still extremely difficult to communicate with him and I could see him getting frustrated as well. Fifteen minutes later I did get the food I ordered. My drink was never refilled. I ordered iced tea when I sat down and said I would look at the cocktail menu but was never asked if I wanted to order another drink. I had to get up and find someone to ask for my bill, now 65 minutes after I sat down. My waiter brought my check shortly after. The entree I was originally served was $35, $20 more than the entree I ordered! The waiter did immediately agree to take that charge off and charge me for the meal I ordered and ate. I was there for an hour 15 minutes total, which is incredibly too long for dinner service at an airport. Service was difficult with a language barrier and inattentive in addition to slow. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Cuban food, but this place was pretty good for airport food. I ordered some food here during my layover going to LAX from Tegucigalpa. My table got the Medionoche Sandwich, the Lechon, Ropa Vieja, and the Chimichurri Skirt Steak. We all thought the rice, pinto beans, and plantains were well-made and flavorful. The sandwich tasted a little bit too heavy/cheesy. The ropa vieja and chimichurri steak had a lot of flavor. Lastly, the some pieces of the lechon were flavorful, but some pieces were really dry. I've had Cuban food before and this place is definitely a lot better than other places I've been too. It's just that I'm probably not a fan of Cuban food. 3.5 stars for food and service. read more

First off let me start off with the type of crooks these people are. We stopped by to get a bite and asked if we can share a meal and the heavy set Cuban man said that the peacado plate wasn't enough for two people and it clearly is! He was stating he was doing us favor in upgrading the fish and never stated that he was charging us for that. How does a mojito cost $26 dollars. So annoyed with this place! Is not about the money is about principle and the bad taste of trying to hustle us and thinking we are stupid. Please don't go here and eat if you are making a quick stop. Disappointment. read more

Considering you're in a captive setting, the food quantities were surprisingly generous and reasonably priced. Airport venues typically have exorbitant costs and tiny serving sizes. But food quality isn't always consistent. I had seafood paella, which was tasty but extremely moist--almost mushy--with a consistency similar to oatmeal. This business gets busy, and the service is basic. read more

The food is good (plantains!) and I especially like having table service in an airport. When juggling bags I find balancing a food tray complicated. The only weird thing about this place is that on two separate occasions a total stranger has sat down at my table without introduction. read more

If you find yourself near this restaurant at the Miami airport, I would stop here especially if you want that last bite of Cuban flavor before you leave. Everywhere your eye could see there were chafing dishes of foods in a cafeteria style setting that looked absolutely delicious. The problem is, the restaurant is very particular and strict about what sides go with what proteins. My experience here came up lacking because from all there was to choose, I came away with the blandest plate of food possible. Let me elaborate further, I picked some chicken breast. Looked good but the rice I wanted they said no. You choose either this or that. It's a pricing tier system. Had I picked the steak, I could have gotten the rice I wanted but I didn't. So I walked away with chicken breast, plain white rice and mashed potatoes. I regretted every bit of that on my plane ride home. But I love Miami and I'll be back. You go and pick better than I did.

I absolutely LOVE the empanadas at Café Versailles and I try to get some anytime I'm in MIA…read moreairport, since they have a few locations throughout this airport. When landing there recently, I was headed to the Centurion Lounge and passed a Café Versailles on the way, and since there were only a few people in line, I stopped in to grab a spinach and cheese empanada, which is one of my two favs from them. The staff needs to work on customer service and efficiency a little to improve that area of their business. They also need to assume that not everyone speaks Spanish (just because I'm "brown" doesn't mean I speak it, so don't initiate to me in the States). They were also too busy chatting with others who walked up and hugging, shaking hands, etc with them while wearing the same gloves they're using to serve food. I have no problem with people having a good time at work, but STOP this culture of putting a good time ahead of taking care of customers and guests, which is the ONLY reason they're there and what they're paid to do. As for the food - It was decent, but not the best I've had from them. The dough was slightly rubbery, where they normally make some of the BEST pastry dough and that's one of the best things about their empanadas. Would I return? Yes! But I just hope the next experience goes better.

For the quality and quantity you're getting, the prices are very appropriate and honestly a steal by airport standards. The service is friendly, efficient, and genuinely warm. Now, let's talk about the hot sauce. It is AMAZING. (Vinegar based lots of flavor and acidity and just to touch of heat) It elevates every single dish. You can buy it separately to take home.
