There is some ham in there but it's pretty widely spread apart
Sebastian B.

Certainly a must try at the airport but it's an airport joint so it doesn't reach 4 star potential. The service is adequate, the seating is there, nothing special. I did like the coffee very much and although it was edible the egg with ham sandwich left lots to be desired. There were traces of ham hardly noticeable and undetectable to the pallet. I had a pastry as well that was lack luster. Overcooked and under filled. I think it may have been a bit pricy as well but I normally expect that at airports. I did catch the traditional Miami vibe by the way the stand is decorated. Overall you can't expect a gourmet experience and I wouldn't go out of my way to try them again. Based on how busy this place is I don't think they need to raise the bar.

Cafe

LOW GRADE OVER-RATED AND OVERPRICED DOG FOOD This cafe at the airport is an embarrassment to WE the Cuban People. My Cuban grandmother would never eat at a place like this ! Come on. Why a bunch of grifters that work at this place . They upcharged us on the waters. The breakfast sandwiches were dry and flavorless. No confíes ni en tu sombra !

So dry and salty that I was dehydrated for my entire flight despite constantly drinking water. They also tried to aggressively sell me a drink, guess they knew how drying the food would be

Mmm delicious coffee. Love me a good Cortado! White mocha was good not too sweet!!! Service was fast and courteous.

Located in the airport this spot is open late and has all the staples of this iconic Cuban joint. Despite not being recently renovated this airport has a lot of central and South American charm and what I've found is only the solid spots remain after a few years. The guava and cheese is solid. Chicken empanada could've used more chicken but the steak sandwich stole the show. Very well balanced and satisfying.

Pastelitos de carne at Café Versailles: Always our favorite at MIA

It's always a great choice for Cuban snacks! It's the express version of the original Versailles restaurant on 8th Street (Calle Ocho, Baby!). An iconic restaurant where we would stop and get pastelitos & croquetas on the way home from my abuelita's house all through my childhood. How could I not stop and get their famous pastelitos de carne before boarding our next flight? They truly are the best! There are 2 or 3 cafés in terminal D. This one is near Gate 20. The staff behind the counter are so nice & friendly. I was even offered a plastic bag to carry the paper bagged purchase. What a great lady! The meat pies are greasy, but oh so wonderful. I never can resist them. My only regret is that I didn't buy more frituras. Ha! It's a slice of heaven in this busy & overcrowded airport. A great place to get snacks & cortadito before your flight.

Food

Great pricing, and the food was yummy. We got the meat empanadas and guava pastry with a cafe con leche for 12 dollars. Kind of unheard of pricing in regard to warm food in the airport. Would recommend.

Pretty solid food. The pastries stole the show. I really enjoyed the ham and cheese and spinach empanadas. The tres leche was excellent. The Cuban steak sandwich was solid. Not amazing but I amazing for air port food. I'm sure the real restaurant is better but I enjoyed it.

Great Cappuccino

Look usually airport food and service is just so-so. I was greeted by a friendly staff, helped quickly and thanked genuinely. The Cappuccino was excellent and the Classic Cuban was Bomb! A friendly and clean stop on our way home!

We landed at 6:00 AM in MIA for a four-hour layover. Though I wasn't hungry at that time (it was 3:00 AM for me in PHX), I couldn't pass up trying Café Versailles. I love me some Cuban food and treats. Though there was a line, it moved very quickly. The staff was nice and patient. I ordered a spinach cheese empanada, a guava pastry, and a cafe con leche. Prices were very affordable. I ate the spinach cheese empanada right away and saved the pastry for later. The empanada was tasty and had a good amount of filling. The cafe con leche was piping hot, so it took me a while to enjoy it. The pastry was a great snack for our next flight!

5 Stars. If you're at Miami International Airport, find one of these shops and get a Cuban sandwich, coffee or dessert. They're friendly, welcoming, and the food is great. I haven't been here in years, not since a previous trip to Miami. Whenever I'm in this airport, I always make a stop and get a coffee and a snack. I got a sandwich and Tres Leches dessert. Both were outatanding.

We did not go to the restaurant in town but we did visit their location inside Miami International Airport. It's super expensive, but that's how it is inside airports. We have visited the actual restaurant in the past and love it. I give them 5 stars overall. We got 4 Cuban sandwiches and a few chicken empanadas. My kids devoured everything before I can get a picture....me too! The food did not disappoint. Cuban was the perfect ratio of pork, ham and Swiss cheese that is melted to perfection in a soft yet crunchy bread that is flattened like a panini. The empanadas were filled with seasoned chicken & beef, with a fried outer dough that adds flavor. The down side was that we were shorted one Cuban sandwich and when I went back to complain he asked for a receipt, which they never gave me. Needless to say he refused to give me another sandwich so We lost out. The service was a bit quick for an airport. It's a cool spot but I prefer the beautiful restaurant in town.

Located near Gate 21 of Terminal ( or Concourse D) Versailles is a good spot to grab some quick bites whether you've just landed or better yet, about to board a flight so you won't have to purchase overpriced airplane food, if they even offer it. They have some typical Cuban savory and sweet pastries like empanadas, croquettes, guava and/or cheese pastries. Croquettes, sweet pastries and empanadas aren't bad at all, but to be expected prices are a bit higher here than say Porto's in SoCal or other neighborhood bakeries that carry the same items. The lady that helped me was very pleasant and smiled a lot. The line moves fairly quickly and everything we've tried were good. I don't have photos of the food because they were in a bag and hard to plate them sitting on an airplane seat. Try them and if you're near this Terminal, or see them around Miami.

If you are getting freshly brewed coffee, the cashier makes it right there and hands it to you. Specialty orders are made up front and you can watch the assembly line making food and drinks. Everyone was in good spirits and Lilian who I assume was the manager/team leader was on point! She was hustling and motivating her staff, quickly pushing out drink orders. Despite this she took the time to update people on the status of their order and even answer a question I had about my order. They had all the usual Starbucks decor and mugs and insulated cups for sale. Overall a pleasant experience on a busy travel day. Hats off to the MIA team!
