I had a layover in Miami and was on a search for a cuban sandwhich. I came across this place and it looked like they had a pretty good selection of cuban food. I wasn't too hungry so I opted for just the cuban sandwhich because im not sure what a good one consisted of. The cuban sandwhich i had here was decent. It did feel like I needed to add more mustard to it since it still felt a little dry. The meats werent cold but not hot either. After all that, im still on the search for a really good cuban sandwhich. However, I would go back here to try some of the other food.

A welcome familiar friend in the airport - always love grabbing a coffee and pastelito during early morning flights at MIA! Quick service, reasonable prices and great variety. Definitely recommend.

Rating: 2.7/5 [takeout] One of the few cafés open late, so we stopped by and tried a chicken empanada ($3.75). It was warm, flaky, and a good size, but the flavor wasn't for me. It had a strong, overpowering bamboo taste (which doesn't sound right), but that's what it tastes like to me. The cashier also came across as unfriendly when I asked a question and during checkout.

Located in Miami airport this little cafe serves some of Cuba little treats. I order the breakfast croissant and 2 meat empanadas and a soursop drink. Everything was good I really would've enjoyed if I got the ham and cheese empanadas. The meat one was good but had egg in it. In which I don't eat. Other than that it was tasty. The soup sop was delicious if you never had the fruit i suggest trying the drink you won't be disappointed. The service was fast which is a plus in Mia airport.

Not sure about La Carreta Cafe. I flew overnight to Miami and grabbed something to eat on my next flight. I did wait about an hour after ordering to eat the sandwich, but I was underwhelmed. The bread was hard to bite- I really had to pull hard to cut through the bread. The cheese was nothing special-just average American sliced orange melted cheese. I'd probably skip La Carreta next time or maybe try their lunch instead.

Great option inside the airport Terminal D for a quick fix of Cuban food. It's like an old school lunch counter where you choose your order from a buffet & they plate it or fix your to go box. I had the lechon (roast pork) & 2 sides - plantain & rice with black beans. It was a large portion & good value at $16.49.

The guava and cheese pastry is always amazing. I also had the bistic sandwich. It was ok, a lil dry but pretty good.

When I got into Miami, I wanted some coffee, but couldn't find a place until an airport worker directed me to La Carreta. My sister and her BFF wouldn't come in for at least another hour, so I decided to get a snack and a Cuban espresso. They had a variety of Cuban pastries (empanadas, pastels, croquettes, etc) as well as more full meals. I went with a Papa Rellana, a Chicken Empanada, a Pastel Guava and a Cuban espresso. Everything hit the spot and was delicious! I was at a little bit of a disadvantage when I arrived as most of the employees spoke Spanish, and I didn't. But they were able to get my order in and it was all great! I even stopped by at the location near American Airlines on my way out from Miami. I went with a Jumbo Colada and sipped it throughout the course of my plane to LA. The Pastel Guava was a must again! This location was a little more busy, as it was in a busier location. They employees moved us through the line quickly and efficiently.

My famous overcooked churrasco and expensive fries with overcooked saggy vegetables

This was one of my worst experiences. After a tiring and hungry flight, I arrived only to be met with women yelling at me to choose a meat. Everyone was speaking Spanish, and no one on the other side spoke English. There was no clear understanding of what each dish was or what came as a side. My meal was overcooked and unappetizing. They charged me double for fries, and now I find myself going hungry because of the very expensive, overcooked meal I purchased for $40.

There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. Literally my tongue and teeth were black. The waiter came by and grabbed the plate when I was in the bathroom. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get that BLACK SLUDGE out of my mouth. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

Five of us ordered: 5 Cafecitos 1 Pan con Lechon 3 Pan con Bistec 1 Coladita 1 Timba Came out to $107.45 including a $10 tip. We already had a memorable Cubano sandwich so we explored other options. The Lechon was by far the crowd favorite flavor wise, but it is heavier with the pork fat. The garlic sauce is a must to help cut through the richness. We left supremely happy with the salty and garlicky fat flavors lingering on our tastebuds, rejuvenated by a quick shot of velvety espresso, and capped off with the sweet guava and tangy queso crema shake (La Timba). This location is nestled in a food court style area, with a few restaurants offering sit down table service as well. And when I say offering, the sales tactics are reminiscent of timeshare sales zombies standing in an idle state until you mistakenly stop for a BEAT and then it's game on for them. Luckily at Sanguich, they have a few dedicated seats and tables for themselves and they'll come drop your order for you. A little bit of a scavenger hunt to find it, but well worth the adventure. The views out on the water are a bonus too.

Couldn't get enough of how good the bread was and everything just blended together so well. This location is amongst many, many restaurants but Sanguich still gets a line out the door. They do have a small patio in front of the storefront for you to enjoy the meals. The service was a bit slow, but totally understandable as they take their time crafting the sandwiches. We ordered the El Cubano [$14.99] which is their most basic sandwich. The taste was definitely not basic, though! Loved every juicy, crunchy bite of that sandwich. It's kind of shareable, but I could have easily scarfed down both if I was hungry enough. We also got the Boniato Fries [$5.25] which are sweet potato fries but better, and lighter. I think they use "white" sweet potato, according to Google. Whatever it is was good! Also tried their Croquettas [$4.50] which came w/2. Super tasty and satisfying! Everything we had was spot-on! Sanguich needs to be on everyone's "To-Do" list when visiting Miami.

We ordered a ton, and right off the bat: if you love croquetas and empanadas, order extra. They're on the smaller side and come individually, but they are so good they disappear fast. The beef empanadas were a 10/10 perfectly seasoned and crispy. The chicken empanadas didn't hit the same for me, but the jamón croquetas? Absolutely insane. A must. For appetizers, the prawns al ajillo were delicious super flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was good, but not my favorite. It leaned a bit bland for my taste, even with the sauce. Now, the must-get: the carnitas with pickled onions. Easily one of the best dishes of the night so flavorful, tender, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, we had the ribeye steak and arroz con pollo, plus sides of tostones and yuca. Everything here delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right not overly salty. The arroz con pollo was phenomenal, the kind of dish you could eat every single day. The tostones were crispy and tossed in garlic, which took the flavor to another level, and the yuca was melt-in-your-mouth good. I also ordered a mojito, which unfortunately was very watered down, I barely got any of that classic mojito flavor. Service overall was solid, especially considering how loud the restaurant gets it was honestly hard to hear each other at the table, so shoutout to our server for keeping everything straight. The appetizers came out quickly, back-to-back, which we loved. The only downside was the wait for the entrées they took quite a while after we finished the apps, even though we ordered everything at once. Overall, amazing food, great energy, and definitely worth going just be prepared for a lively (and loud) atmosphere.

Unfortunately, our other server disappeared and never checked up on us. We pretty much didn't have any napkins during our entire duration of our meal. At least that part was good. We started off with a couple of mojitos and their Vaca Frita Tostones. You get these homemade maduro tostones topped off with shreeded beef in a moon sauce, pickled onion, and aji Amarillo aioli. A very delicious dish that didn't last long. Shortly after we received our main dish. I really hate when they do that. My wife ordered their Abuelas Ropa Vieja and I ordered their Masa de Puerco Chino. My wife didn't really care for her dish much. We've had plenty of Ropa Vieja before and would have preferred a congri type of rice as opppsed to just plain white rice. My dish was 10/10. Like in the name of "chino" this is an Asian inspired dish with fried rice, maduros, pineapple confit and crispy pork. A very delicious dish. It could have don't without the little salad on top, but at least it ads color to the dish. The crispy pork tasted so amazing and the fried had so much flavor. Mix in some of the maduros and you get a sweet and savory dish. Would definitely be returning to try this dish again.
