You absolutely must visit Krust. It is a hidden gem in the back of a tiny shopping area on PCH. You are immediately greeted with warm smiles and the heavenly scents of freshly baked goods. I've had a variety of their products; avocado toast; (best I have ever had), their quiche is such high quality. The sesame bread, and all of the pastries remind me of Paris. They're a family owned business that's remained open during COVID-19 pandemic. Super friendly staff, convenient and plenty of parking, and their mocha latte is delicious. My favorite part about Krust is how they use pasta as stir sticks. Such a great idea since we only use stir sticks for 5 seconds and throw them away. I'm hoping this movement towards using alternatives for single use plastics continue! read more

Love this little cafe. The avocado toast was absolutely delicious. I loved the thin slices of kumquats that added a nice citrusy sweet flavor to the avocado. 5 stars = would order again. The breakfast pie equally tasty, but unfortunately the egg in the center was a tad over cooked. I would have enjoyed this more had the yolk oozed out when cut =4 stars. The savory scone was buttery and flaky, very good. Cappuccino was average, I could take it or leave it. All in all, will come back to try other items. read more

The results are outstanding and well prepared desserts and pastries that are worth the trip. Yoonjung is friendly and welcoming, and her baked goods deliver a smile. We had: Croissant ($2.25): Rich, buttery and flakey, this croissant is very authentic and does not need any sort of spread. Delicious! I look forward to trying the almond croissant. Chocolate Mousse Cake ($3.95): 3" long by 1.5" wide, this delightful layer cake is composed of excellent chocolate cake with light and fluffy whipped chocolate mousse and finished with a dusting of cocoa powder. The chocolate used is obviously excellent quality - you will not be disappointed by this one. Lemon Bar ($3.75): 3" long by 2" wide, this flakey crust is filled with fresh, sweet and tangy lemon curd and finished with fresh meringue that is lightly toasted. The crust at first appears to be a heavy shortbread crust, but it is not - the light and flakey crust does not overwhelm this little tart. Carrot Cheesecake ($3.75): 3" long by 1.5" wide, this is the most surprising dessert. It is a light carrot cake topped with whipped, fluffy cheesecake that has a hint of tang. OMG! Delicious! I am not a cheesecake fan, but I love carrot cake, so I tried this. I am so glad that I did. I loved it, and it was DH's fave. Alas, I cannot pick a favorite because everything was so delicious. However, I will definitely be back. If you are not taking things with you, you can take a seat at one of their fun mod chairs around butcher block tables and enjoy the light streaming in the floor to ceiling windows. Holy delight! Heard about this new local gem from the Insta account @eatsmallsouthbay and my husband and I placed a big order for lunch to try a bit of everything. It was all incredibly high quality product that made us really excited to have found a new go-to lunch spot! The standouts were the croissant egg, turkey, avocado sandwich, my personal favorite, the bacon & cheese scone (soo soft & buttery), & the custard filled brioche donut with cinnamon sugar. I am not a donut lover, but this donut has me converted! Perfect cream, not too sweet! The blueberry muffin & earl grey tea spiced cake were moist & tasty as well! I didn't know banana bread could melt in your mouth. Because that is what happened when I tried Krust's banana bread. It's spongy and moist and full of happy. I'm pretty sure it's made with love. This is a favorite of my dad and me. We come here fairly early on Sundays to have a father/daughter catch up while my mom goes to church. I've tried many things on be menu and have never been disappointed: Avocado toast (a favorite), the baguette (comes with Brie, butter and jam; crusty on the outside and soft in the inside); almond croissant; banana bread; blueberry muffin; ham & cheese roll (not my fav). Krust is run efficiently and with great care by its owner. I can only imagine what time she arrives to make all of her delicious bakery goods. It's definitely best to come in early and before noon esp on weekends if there is something that you know you enjoy otherwise there won't be anything left and seating is limited. I have been here 2/3 times already and it's absolutely amazing every time, all of the pastries and baked goods are so fresh and delicious, it feels like I'm going into my grandmas kitchen and she made everything that day and with so much love! My favorite is the avocado toast, simple but so delicious and pretty looking. Also the doughnuts are great, I would highly suggest the Lemon Curd one. This place is just so amazing. I've been coming here for years since my chiropractor is upstairs. It's been incredible to see them grow and expand. The baked goods are second to none. I try to get something different each time. The spinach feta quiche has always been a favorite. The banana bread is also a go to. We recently tried their waffles and loved them as well. The original custard donut, mmmmm. The owners and staff are always friendly and very appreciative of their customers. They put love and passion for their food into each pastry. Everything always tastes like they just made it specially for you.. Just advice though, get there early because it seems Krust is getting more and more popular each week. Baked goods sell fast so don't miss out. They do make more but I recommend still getting there before 9am. read more

Poor customer service. First time going there. I saw all their good reviews and pastries looked good. I stepped inside and there were two people in the back just like 6 feet away from me in the kitchen and they saw me. I figured they were giving me time to think, but after standing there for 5 minutes without acknowledgment, it was just rude at that point. I kept standing by the cashier ready to order and they didn't even look my way or say anything. At this point, good riddance. I just left. I don't care to support a business that will be rude to customers. I wasn't sure if they were being racist toward me too because they were so rudely ignoring me. They didn't even have any customers. Really good bakery. I was going to pinwheel most weekends but find myself coming here now. The almond croissant is excellent - flaky, buttery and with just enough almond filling. I also love the Parisian style baguette. Shorter like a demi loaf but with authentic pointed tapered ends. Very, very nice thick crust with a soft, airy center. Maybe only Bread Lounge in DTLA makes a better baguette, maybe. The jam is also very good but I usually only use butter and salt. My son loves the ham and cheese roll and the chocolate brioche but lately his favorite is the lemon glazed donut. My wife likes the avocado toast and the breakfast pie with bacon. My friend suggested we go here before a walk along the beach. I said ok before i looked at the menu. I try not to eat too much bread and figured I was in trouble once I saw the menu. I was pleasantly surprised when I got there and saw the breakfast pie. While it was a 'pie' with a lot of crust it did have an egg inside. It was extremely tasty. I'm guessing the egg was poached as the yolk was runny - it was perfect as it ran out over the crust. Very tasty breakfast. read more

They close at 3 but it is now 1:40 pm and they had two pastries left and were not about to make any new ones. They should probably just charge their hours or hire people who actually want to work. This place is a hidden gem in South Redondo. I come here for avocado toast and a soy latte after my Pilates class at south bay Pilates next door. It's the perfect amount of food and the lattes are on point. The customer service is amazing and my daughter loves the waffles which is a plus!
