My girlfriend and I had a wonderful night out last night, and we started the night with a great dinner here. I ordered the Krunch Roll platter and she ordered California Rolls which was very similar to mine. We both ordered two glasses of their Merlot wine, while we were perusing their extensive menu and having a great conversation. The sushi chef was on his game last night and he did a great job preparing sushi for everyone. From the moment we were seated, until we finished our meal, everything was outstanding. The restaurant is beautiful and it was not as busy as we expected. It was a team effort, and they really do have a great process. After dinner we spent the rest of the exciting evening enjoying the Waterfront and surrounding area.

I honestly don't know why this place has bad reviews. It's literally one of the best Thai spots in Navy Yard and has always been my go to spot! We got the smoked salmon rolls which were so good! I got the basil fried rice and my friend got the pad thai. I meant to take pictures but by the time I realized, the food was gone. Waiters are attentive and food was delivered fast.

Hands down some of the BEST Thai food I've had in my life! I dined with two of my friends, one of whom is vegan and we were all in awe of our dishes. We will definitely be back!

The service was excellent. The sushi tasted awesome and the atmosphere was peaceful. The waitress was prompt and on point the entire time. We told her at the beginning that we had to leave at a specific time...she made sure we were out by that time. Excellent customer service.

This quaint restaurant is in a great spot one block from the Navy Yard waterfront. It was not as busy as the restaurants facing the water. It was quiet, dimly lit, and traditionally decorated. We enjoyed the various focal points around the room. Given that it was just an hour before closing, there was only two other parties dining in the restaurant at the time. I can't speak to how they are on a busy night. However, they were very attentive, friendly, and informative. Our appetizers and entrées arrived quickly. They were hot and delicious. We loved that they looked like the photos on their website. We received a generous portion of food for the price which was reasonable. Check them out if you are ever in the Navy Yard area.

It was a beautiful day and they wouldn't seat us on their awesome and huge patio :( that was a big disappointment. However, the ambience is nice inside and the pad Thai was tasty. I also enjoyed the Thai iced tea. Service was very fast. It's the only Thai in the neighborhood so I'll be back I'm sure haha.

A group of us were taking a boat ride from Navy Yard so, we wanted to have dinner first. After a quick vote we landed on Thai food. We were a group of six. We were greeted and sat immediately about 5ish on a Friday night without a reservation. Once seated our server was NOT friendly at all. I mean short and rude. I'm unsure why she was so rude since the restaurant just opened at 4:30. The menu was reasonably priced and there is quite a variety to choose from as well as sushi. I do think that it's a little unreasonable to charge an additional $4 to add broccoli to any dish broccoli is just a vegetable and pretty cheap to come by. The food overall was delicious and very flavorful and they understood spice levels well. We didn't order any drinks so I can't give my opinion on those. Of course the gratuity was included in the check since we were a party of six, but our server definitely didn't even deserve that. Overall I might order to go because the food is good, but I definitely would not sit in. We should have went to the Mexican restaurant ‍

Not sure why this business has 3 stars. I went friday night after leaving a winery tour since my friends and me were all craving sushi. This was right across the street from District winery. I ordered miso soup and a green salad to start. It was cold outside so the Miso soup hit the spot. The salad came with a peanut dressing. The peanut dressing was very potent so I was not a fan. They didn't have any other dressing choices so the server recommended a sweet & sour sauce. It was good. I was able to enjoy my salad. For dinner I ordered two sushi rolls. Their prices were reasonable. I order a shrimp tempura roll & the spicy crab tempura roll with cream cheese and eel sauce. They were both very delicious. I am glad we checked out this place. I would recommend you try it out for yourself dont go based off that 3 star rating.

Good option for take-out sushi and thai food in Navy Yard. I order everything mild because the spiciness levels are quite high compared to some thai spots. The pad thai has good flavor without too much greasiness, and the basil fried rice is phenomenal (very spicy though). Their sushi is fresh and decently priced.

If the sushi wasn't so good this place would have one star. It was my sisters birthday and since she loves sushi and has been here before we decided to give this place a try. My sister knew they had outside dining so I brought my dog along to join. I arrived first and asked for a table for 4 outside. They mentioned they closed but I could still order takeout. I was very confused because online hours say they are open until 10? Anyway - my sister joined shortly after this and decided we would get takeout here. While we were inside ordering sushi we were faced with such an attitude. We hadn't even got to look at the menu for a minute and we were rushed to order because then kitchen was closing in 45 minutes. The manager or owner (don't know her role at the restaurant) also mentioned the sushi would take 10 minutes to wait. Straight up now how you treat your customers - seemed like she didn't want our business. If it weren't my sisters bday we wouldn't have gone here honestly. There was no need to rush us like that - was really rude and unsettling. Definitely not coming back here. She was also super defensive about the restaurant closing at 8pm and said to check the website not google or yelp - i checked the website after we left and it says theyre open until 10 so whats this false advertisement...... for the sushi - everything was really good. they made the spicy crab and spicy shrimp tempura actually spicy which is rare. really enjoyed the kruba rolls definitely something unique. seaweed salad was also made with seaweed and tasted fresh and pretty authentic. no complaints on the food, just the service.

Cashew chicken.

I approach my review of this place thinking along two lines of thought. As a Vietnamese restaurant,…read morethis place is spacious and nicely decorated but very lacking as an example of what Vietnamese food is. More authentic flavors can be found 20-30 minutes away in East Falls Church at Eden Center. Having said that, I realize this place exists in Southwest DC and I should be grateful to find any Vietnamese food at all, no matter how mediocre. Yet even inside DC proper, where there's high-end (read overpriced) Vietnamese food and the standard spots for the everyman, the quality of food here does not measure up. I can think of a few small hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese places near Union Station, along 14th street, and even in Chinatown that have better Vietnamese food here. But if you're in the SW area and not keen on taking a metro ride elsewhere, having this place is better than nothing. Different than most Vietnamese restaurants where you sit down and they come take your order, you're supposed to grab a menu as you walk in and order at the counter. You're given a number and then you sit yourself. There's also a self-serve water station in case you didn't order a drink. It's functional but that level of service kind of undermines the nice decor here, pairing nice visuals with low-end service. However, I never go to an authentic Vietnamese restaurant expecting quality service, so whatever. The food is what I go for. And the food here -- I've had the phở and the bún thịt nướng (grill pork noodles with eggrolls) -- might scratch an itch but is ultimately lackluster. The phở is passable, though the cuts of meat are sparse. Flavor is not the best but it's not horrible either. The grilled pork on the grilled pork noodles however are super dry and I don't feel were made fresh. I feel as if they were reheated somehow. The flavor is off. The texture is tougher than it should be. And the fish sauce, which should pull this dish together and overcome other blemishes if delicious, also falls short. When I got the rice noodle dish, it came with a small portion of fish sauce. I poured it all in to the bowl but somehow every bite was still super dry. I had to ask for a second portion to be able to taste the flavor. But then I realized the flavor was not quite right. Overall I'm glad there's a Vietnamese restaurant in this part of town for times when I'm here and don't want to venture elsewhere. But should I ever really want solid Vietnamese food, I will venture elsewhere.

I stopped by during lunch time to take advantage of their lunch deal and ordered the Pho Tai Bo Vien (eye round steak and meatball) bowl and the Lemongrass Beef Plate. I had the pho and they gave me a lot of the steak which is a plus. Both have great flavor and portions are a good size. Only the Pho Noodles will come with the spring roll for the lunch special, other specials only come with a drink. The spring roll it comes with is veggie with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. They have plenty of drinks to choose from I think it is nice they offer sparkling waters as well. Overall, service is very fast for both dine-in and take out. There is plenty of seating. I would come again to try their banh mi sandwiches.

I sampled a crispy rice salad and some drunken noodles, expecting to eat about half of each. The salad was fantastic, with the light texture of the crispy rice allowing the aroma of lime, chili, and various other flavors to percolate through it. I asked them to hit me with the full spice level for my drunken noodles, and they were venomous, even once I had gotten used to them. The people were preparing some spice trays to be used for ad hoc seasoning, but I had no need of any further chili. A Thai iced tea with lychee I thought was going to be a milk tea, as the term Thai iced tea normally connotes, but it was in fact just tea with fruit. Still good though, and it came with one full lychee. Some of the other people eating around me noted that they planned on leftovers and instead ate everything they got, a comment that the portions aren't huge but also that the flavors are captivating. I finished mine too.

Took an extended walk a few weeks ago to check this place out before getting groceries, as it's…read moresupposedly some of the best Thai in South Arlington and had to verify that. Was seated by a delightful young lady, and found the decor and layout to be quite pleasing; modest by elegant. As for the fare, it was indeed quite worth the walk. Ordered a bowl of Tom Yum and the Pad Thai Mun Goong. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce. All-in-all, I was well pleased this visit. As this is Padaek's second location, I hope they don't expand too much further/quickly and compromise on quality.

They had a band and singers and folks were up dancing. We found out this is an annual thing and not something regular. We didn't realized they closed at 9pm so felt a little rushed. My friend and I shared the Pad See Ew with beef and the Pla Makham. Both dishes were so good and packed with flavor.
