The food is always good and service is great! Big space so good for groups, well air conditioned and kid friendly!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful night out last night, and we started the night with a great dinner here. I ordered the Krunch Roll platter and she ordered California Rolls which was very similar to mine. We both ordered two glasses of their Merlot wine, while we were perusing their extensive menu and having a great conversation. The sushi chef was on his game last night and he did a great job preparing sushi for everyone. From the moment we were seated, until we finished our meal, everything was outstanding. The restaurant is beautiful and it was not as busy as we expected. It was a team effort, and they really do have a great process. After dinner we spent the rest of the exciting evening enjoying the Waterfront and surrounding area.

I honestly don't know why this place has bad reviews. It's literally one of the best Thai spots in Navy Yard and has always been my go to spot! We got the smoked salmon rolls which were so good! I got the basil fried rice and my friend got the pad thai. I meant to take pictures but by the time I realized, the food was gone. Waiters are attentive and food was delivered fast.

Hands down some of the BEST Thai food I've had in my life! I dined with two of my friends, one of whom is vegan and we were all in awe of our dishes. We will definitely be back!

The service was excellent. The sushi tasted awesome and the atmosphere was peaceful. The waitress was prompt and on point the entire time. We told her at the beginning that we had to leave at a specific time...she made sure we were out by that time. Excellent customer service.

This quaint restaurant is in a great spot one block from the Navy Yard waterfront. It was not as busy as the restaurants facing the water. It was quiet, dimly lit, and traditionally decorated. We enjoyed the various focal points around the room. Given that it was just an hour before closing, there was only two other parties dining in the restaurant at the time. I can't speak to how they are on a busy night. However, they were very attentive, friendly, and informative. Our appetizers and entrées arrived quickly. They were hot and delicious. We loved that they looked like the photos on their website. We received a generous portion of food for the price which was reasonable. Check them out if you are ever in the Navy Yard area.

It was a beautiful day and they wouldn't seat us on their awesome and huge patio :( that was a big disappointment. However, the ambience is nice inside and the pad Thai was tasty. I also enjoyed the Thai iced tea. Service was very fast. It's the only Thai in the neighborhood so I'll be back I'm sure haha.

A group of us were taking a boat ride from Navy Yard so, we wanted to have dinner first. After a quick vote we landed on Thai food. We were a group of six. We were greeted and sat immediately about 5ish on a Friday night without a reservation. Once seated our server was NOT friendly at all. I mean short and rude. I'm unsure why she was so rude since the restaurant just opened at 4:30. The menu was reasonably priced and there is quite a variety to choose from as well as sushi. I do think that it's a little unreasonable to charge an additional $4 to add broccoli to any dish broccoli is just a vegetable and pretty cheap to come by. The food overall was delicious and very flavorful and they understood spice levels well. We didn't order any drinks so I can't give my opinion on those. Of course the gratuity was included in the check since we were a party of six, but our server definitely didn't even deserve that. Overall I might order to go because the food is good, but I definitely would not sit in. We should have went to the Mexican restaurant ‍

Not sure why this business has 3 stars. I went friday night after leaving a winery tour since my friends and me were all craving sushi. This was right across the street from District winery. I ordered miso soup and a green salad to start. It was cold outside so the Miso soup hit the spot. The salad came with a peanut dressing. The peanut dressing was very potent so I was not a fan. They didn't have any other dressing choices so the server recommended a sweet & sour sauce. It was good. I was able to enjoy my salad. For dinner I ordered two sushi rolls. Their prices were reasonable. I order a shrimp tempura roll & the spicy crab tempura roll with cream cheese and eel sauce. They were both very delicious. I am glad we checked out this place. I would recommend you try it out for yourself dont go based off that 3 star rating.

If the sushi wasn't so good this place would have one star. It was my sisters birthday and since she loves sushi and has been here before we decided to give this place a try. My sister knew they had outside dining so I brought my dog along to join. I arrived first and asked for a table for 4 outside. They mentioned they closed but I could still order takeout. I was very confused because online hours say they are open until 10? Anyway - my sister joined shortly after this and decided we would get takeout here. While we were inside ordering sushi we were faced with such an attitude. We hadn't even got to look at the menu for a minute and we were rushed to order because then kitchen was closing in 45 minutes. The manager or owner (don't know her role at the restaurant) also mentioned the sushi would take 10 minutes to wait. Straight up now how you treat your customers - seemed like she didn't want our business. If it weren't my sisters bday we wouldn't have gone here honestly. There was no need to rush us like that - was really rude and unsettling. Definitely not coming back here. She was also super defensive about the restaurant closing at 8pm and said to check the website not google or yelp - i checked the website after we left and it says theyre open until 10 so whats this false advertisement...... for the sushi - everything was really good. they made the spicy crab and spicy shrimp tempura actually spicy which is rare. really enjoyed the kruba rolls definitely something unique. seaweed salad was also made with seaweed and tasted fresh and pretty authentic. no complaints on the food, just the service.

The Café offers an interesting take on Native American cuisine. Everything we tried was prepared well, and the portions were substantial enough that splitting the Fry Bread Taco and a dessert would have been more than sufficient. The seating area provides a relaxing view of the outdoor water feature, adding to the overall experience. While the café can become loud when full, the atmosphere remains comfortable and enjoyable. Pros: * Menu - Creative menu featuring Native American‑inspired dishes with consistent quality * Food - Portions are generous, offering strong value for the price * Staff - Friendly and efficient service throughout the visit * Dining Area - Seating area overlooks an attractive outdoor water feature * What we had - Fry Bread Taco and dessert options are both filling and well‑prepared Cons: * Noise levels increase noticeably during peak times, though still manageable A distinctive and enjoyable dining option within the museum, offering flavorful dishes, generous portions, and a pleasant setting. A solid 4‑star experience.

Fitting, since it's right next to the Air and Space museum, I decided to hit the National Museum of the American Indian and partake. Skip all of the food trucks lined up along the road, and go inside and sit down and enjoy. It's one of the few times I dined anywhere and knew exactly what I was going to get. It was set up like a mini food court with different stations which had different dishes. I ponied up to the one with the taco and the woman put together an amazing looking "taco". It's like no other taco I've ever had. This thing weighed a lot, and that made the $18+ price tag worth it. It was delicious and definitely knife and fork material. It was a hodge-podge of meat, beans, pickled veggies, and sauces and it was delicious. There was plenty of seating when I was there and some cool views of a water feature outside. And since you're here, go visit the museum too. It's pretty cool!

Let me start by saying I recently visited Daikaya on Monday, August 3, 2026, and unfortunately the…read moreservice that day was disappointing. I gave that particular visit 1 out of 5 stars. However, I also want to mention that Daikaya is one of my family's favorite ramen spots, so we were genuinely surprised by the experience because it has always been much better in the past. When we arrived, we were told that our entire party had to be present before we could be seated, which we understood. We also know that seating is first come, first served. In the past, we've been able to sit in a booth with two people, but this time we were informed that booths were reserved for parties of three or more. It was a little frustrating because the restaurant was slow at the time, and my wife politely explained that we would likely be finished before the dinner rush. Even so, we respected the policy and waited until a seat became available. I do want to give Terry a shoutout because he was very kind and professional. I explained that I couldn't sit at the bar due to my foot, and he was understanding. However, when he relayed that information to another employee, I immediately noticed a change in the other gentleman's body language and attitude. He seemed irritated about having to seat us. Once we were seated, the interaction only became more uncomfortable. He slammed our cups onto the table, and when I asked for a straw, he didn't hand it to me--he simply placed it down without saying much. There were several other small interactions throughout our meal that made us feel unwelcome. It reached the point where we decided we'd rather leave, so we flagged Terry down, asked for to-go containers, and requested the check. During our visit, I also noticed a party of four seat themselves and grab their own menus while both servers had their backs turned at the bar. When the same gentleman approached them, his demeanor was completely different. He was pleasant, took their order right away, and their food came out promptly. Watching that interaction made our experience feel even more disappointing. The food, thankfully, was excellent as always. That's one thing Daikaya continues to get right. I also noticed that none of the staff members we're used to seeing--who have always been warm, welcoming, and respectful--were working that day. Overall, this visit was a rare disappointment because the customer service simply wasn't up to the standard we've experienced over the years. While this particular experience deserves a low rating, I also want to acknowledge that every previous visit has been excellent. I'm hoping this was just an off day because Daikaya has consistently been one of our favorite places for ramen.

Daikaya -- Washington, DC…read more Walked in expecting a solid bowl at a shrine to Sapporo-style ramen and left feeling swindled by a soup that tasted like it had never been to Japan. This wasn't a bad day in the kitchen -- this was a fundamental misunderstanding of what Ramen is supposed to do. The Breakdown Broth: F -- I ordered the shoyu. It's way too simple, flat, and an insult to the bowl it was served in. Does it really take 16 hours to make soup that tastes like beef broth bought at Walgreens? I'm not a heavy oil person but there was also a noticeable lack of oil to give the soup any depth either. Is anyone in the kitchen tasting the soup or had ramen before? Genuinely puzzled by how bad this is. This would never fly in Japan. It shouldn't be ok here either. Noodles: B -- honestly the only competent part of this bowl. They say they're shipped in from Japan. Protein: F -- a pile of unseasoned ground pork sitting next to massive slice of chashu so bland it made me question the pig. What are we doing here? This is too much poor meat. Quantity over flavor, and it showed. Toppings: C -- the egg was tasted great, perhaps the most flavorful part of the meal, but half of it was warm and half was cold. Green onions seemed to be all the green bits from the top and none of the white parts on the bottom. And then -- the cucumber salad. A tiny $10 side dish for a quarter of a cucumber in soy sauce and sesame seed oil. Charging this much for such a small quantity is it's own kind of crime. Mind you, it tasted fine but I really expected more and it's ultimately what bumped this 2 star review down to 1 star. Overall: My Japanese ramen radar was blaring "fake ramen" the whole time at this place. This felt like a Ramen place run by people who had never been to Japan. And while that is ok, if you end up serving ramen that's so lacking in redeeming qualities then I have to call it a failure. That bad pricing on top of that is just a kick in the nuts. I felt misled by the reviews. DC's ramen scene deserves better than this 2/10

Interestingly, while the dining room definitely shows its age, the ordering system is modern and up to date. The contrast between the two was pretty noticeable. Service - Service was just okay. This is more of a casual setup where customers place their orders at the counter and the staff bring the food out when it's ready. There wasn't really anything memorable, either good or bad, about the service experience. What We Ordered - -Spring Rolls (Good) -Pho Dac Biet (Special Beef Pho) - The flavor was good overall, but the broth was only lukewarm when it arrived. A bowl of pho really needs to be piping hot, so this took away from the experience. -Grilled Pork Rice Plate - The pork was a bit too salty for my taste and was just okay overall. Final Thoughts - This was an average dining experience. The food was decent, the service was adequate, and the atmosphere was nothing particularly special. Nothing stood out enough to make me want to go out of my way to return, but I also wouldn't discourage others from trying it if they're already in the area. There are simply other Vietnamese restaurants nearby that I would be more inclined to visit first.
