Delicious food and friendly staff here in Navy Yard. Located just steps from The Yards and it was large on the inside with plenty of seating. They do have canned sodas, but we were happy with our food. My husband loved his pork fried rice and shared that with our little one. I loved my drunken chicken noodles that was just spiced nicely but not too spicy. My friend enjoyed her chicken pad Thai. Overall happy to have tried this restaurant with family tonight. read more

Tried this Thai restaurant for the first time with coworkers today. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai, one coworker had the shrimp & chicken fried rice, and another got the cashew chicken. The service was great and everyone was friendly. My coworkers really enjoyed their dishes and thought the food was really good. My Pad Thai was just okay for me - the noodles tasted a little too soggy. I was also surprised that our group had to stay on one tab instead of separate checks. Overall, I'd say it's a decent, average Thai restaurant with good service. read more

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful night out last night, and we started the night with a great dinner here. I ordered the Krunch Roll platter and she ordered California Rolls which was very similar to mine. We both ordered two glasses of their Merlot wine, while we were perusing their extensive menu and having a great conversation. The sushi chef was on his game last night and he did a great job preparing sushi for everyone. From the moment we were seated, until we finished our meal, everything was outstanding. The restaurant is beautiful and it was not as busy as we expected. It was a team effort, and they really do have a great process. After dinner we spent the rest of the exciting evening enjoying the Waterfront and surrounding area. read more

I honestly don't know why this place has bad reviews. It's literally one of the best Thai spots in Navy Yard and has always been my go to spot! We got the smoked salmon rolls which were so good! I got the basil fried rice and my friend got the pad thai. I meant to take pictures but by the time I realized, the food was gone. Waiters are attentive and food was delivered fast. read more

Amazing food. Great price. Great service. The papaya salad was so good I bought a second batch to bring home with me.

The service was excellent. The sushi tasted awesome and the atmosphere was peaceful. The waitress was prompt and on point the entire time. We told her at the beginning that we had to leave at a specific time...she made sure we were out by that time. Excellent customer service. read more

This my first time in this place. The location is great. The layout offers clients with a wide space . The service us excellent. I tried the thai pineapple- shrimp rice.. and it was very delicious. It was well prepared using the pineapple to place the food. The presentation was beautiful and they use large shrimps. This dish is about $22. The sushi was also well done. read more

This quaint restaurant is in a great spot one block from the Navy Yard waterfront. It was not as busy as the restaurants facing the water. It was quiet, dimly lit, and traditionally decorated. We enjoyed the various focal points around the room. Given that it was just an hour before closing, there was only two other parties dining in the restaurant at the time. I can't speak to how they are on a busy night. However, they were very attentive, friendly, and informative. Our appetizers and entrées arrived quickly. They were hot and delicious. We loved that they looked like the photos on their website. We received a generous portion of food for the price which was reasonable. Check them out if you are ever in the Navy Yard area. read more

It was a beautiful day and they wouldn't seat us on their awesome and huge patio :( that was a big disappointment. However, the ambience is nice inside and the pad Thai was tasty. I also enjoyed the Thai iced tea. Service was very fast. It's the only Thai in the neighborhood so I'll be back I'm sure haha. read more

Well deserved poor review. Simple cut and dry. Hours posted as open till 9. Kitchen really closes at 8:30.

Such a great restaurant to have in navy yard. I love the kruba duck here. That dish is worth the trip alone!

A group of us were taking a boat ride from Navy Yard so, we wanted to have dinner first. After a quick vote we landed on Thai food. We were a group of six. We were greeted and sat immediately about 5ish on a Friday night without a reservation. Once seated our server was NOT friendly at all. I mean short and rude. I'm unsure why she was so rude since the restaurant just opened at 4:30. The menu was reasonably priced and there is quite a variety to choose from as well as sushi. I do think that it's a little unreasonable to charge an additional $4 to add broccoli to any dish broccoli is just a vegetable and pretty cheap to come by. The food overall was delicious and very flavorful and they understood spice levels well. We didn't order any drinks so I can't give my opinion on those. Of course the gratuity was included in the check since we were a party of six, but our server definitely didn't even deserve that. Overall I might order to go because the food is good, but I definitely would not sit in. We should have went to the Mexican restaurant ‍ read more

From the start with the drink (lychee fruit mojito - gooood) to the starter salad, calamari, to the amazingly fresh nigiri to the creative specialized sushi rolls....the food and drink were great. Will def return. Usually you pay for each piece of nigiri but here, you got 2 per order and they were goooood. They just need to focus on the server being attentive. read more

If the sushi wasn't so good this place would have one star. It was my sisters birthday and since she loves sushi and has been here before we decided to give this place a try. My sister knew they had outside dining so I brought my dog along to join. I arrived first and asked for a table for 4 outside. They mentioned they closed but I could still order takeout. I was very confused because online hours say they are open until 10? Anyway - my sister joined shortly after this and decided we would get takeout here. While we were inside ordering sushi we were faced with such an attitude. We hadn't even got to look at the menu for a minute and we were rushed to order because then kitchen was closing in 45 minutes. The manager or owner (don't know her role at the restaurant) also mentioned the sushi would take 10 minutes to wait. Straight up now how you treat your customers - seemed like she didn't want our business. If it weren't my sisters bday we wouldn't have gone here honestly. There was no need to rush us like that - was really rude and unsettling. Definitely not coming back here. She was also super defensive about the restaurant closing at 8pm and said to check the website not google or yelp - i checked the website after we left and it says theyre open until 10 so whats this false advertisement...... for the sushi - everything was really good. they made the spicy crab and spicy shrimp tempura actually spicy which is rare. really enjoyed the kruba rolls definitely something unique. seaweed salad was also made with seaweed and tasted fresh and pretty authentic. no complaints on the food, just the service. read more

Not sure why this business has 3 stars. I went friday night after leaving a winery tour since my friends and me were all craving sushi. This was right across the street from District winery. I ordered miso soup and a green salad to start. It was cold outside so the Miso soup hit the spot. The salad came with a peanut dressing. The peanut dressing was very potent so I was not a fan. They didn't have any other dressing choices so the server recommended a sweet & sour sauce. It was good. I was able to enjoy my salad. For dinner I ordered two sushi rolls. Their prices were reasonable. I order a shrimp tempura roll & the spicy crab tempura roll with cream cheese and eel sauce. They were both very delicious. I am glad we checked out this place. I would recommend you try it out for yourself dont go based off that 3 star rating. read more

Good option for take-out sushi and thai food in Navy Yard. I order everything mild because the spiciness levels are quite high compared to some thai spots. The pad thai has good flavor without too much greasiness, and the basil fried rice is phenomenal (very spicy though). Their sushi is fresh and decently priced. read more

I always have a craving for sushi so we checked out the take out for Kruba. Sushi was good. The sushi rice was seasoned well and the fish was fresh. It can get a bit pricey depending on what you order, I like to mix rolls and nigiri. I enjoyed the spicy yellow tail hand roll because of it had a good amount of fish in the roll--yum! Take out was easy and convenient. Ordered online and food was ready to go in about 20 minutes with all the typical condiments--wasabi, pickled ginger, and more than enough soy sauce. Someday we'll dine in, the restaurant has a warm ambiance and I enjoy the decor. read more

great service. great price. Great location. Great food. Definitely worth a try. Only Thai restaurant in Navy Yard.

This place is pretty good. It's nicely tucked away from the busy street hustle on M Street. The place is huge. The food was good and service was pretty fast. Always a reliable takeout option, but I have to say that it's a pain ordering from here. They do not take orders over the phone, which I find highly frustrating, as it means you can either pay insane prices when using Uber Eats or have to pick-up in person (which, if you have a car, is fine). Otherwise, the workers are often using a back corner of their restaurant to work and so it becomes more of a quick bite if you're coming to eat in-person (rather than a true sit down meal). read more

I agree with others--not usually a fan of places that offer multiple, differing cuisines, but I really enjoy Kruba. The space is gorgeous and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Kruba is accessible, though the entryway is a bit tight. The prices are reasonable and their lunch deal is great. The first time I tried Kruba was via delivery. The spring rolls leave much to be desired. Bland and not crisp at all, I am not a fan. But the vegetarian drunken noodles were great. Spicy and full of vegetables and tofu, I really enjoy them. However, even though I liked the noodles, I never considered visiting until a coworker suggested it for lunch. I ordered the lunch deal of green curry, miso soup, and gyoza. The soup is flavorful and the gyoza are crispy. I love the green curry. It is rich and warming and I appreciate the generous amount of tofu. The presentation is beautiful. My coworker and I are excited to return for lunch and I'd be happy to return other times, as well. read more

This place is truly a hidden gem in a busy area. Me and my wife love sushi so when we saw the name we had to give it a try. This happened so quick I was unable to snap photos of the sushi we enjoyed. I ordered a yellowtail roll and my wife had a spicy tuna roll. We are sushi lovers and just came in for something quick. They had a few options but the bar didn't have a full selection. We ended up not drinking but the sushi was excellent, fresh and delicious. I recommend taking the trip read more

Great service! And the food was great as well. Kruba is consistent and always good. I had the sushi which is always fresh.

Really difficult to find especially at night because the sign is dark, windows are dark and from the outside it looks like a shady massage place. Seaweed Salad - $ 5.50 *crunchy, chewy and seaweed-y, yum! Tuna Roll & Avocado - $ 6.50 *tuna tasted really fresh and a good ratio with the avocado Salmon & Avocado - $ 6.50 *salmon was rich and buttery, smaller portion of fish than the tuna Spicy Crab Tempura Roll - $9.95 Deep-fried Spicy Crab Roll and cream cheese w/ special sauce *I'm not a big cream cheese in a sushi roll fan and this was no different lol but it's just personal preference and wasn't for me Mexicano Roll - $14.50 Yellowtail, Jalapeno, Cilantro, Avocado & Tobiko on top *omg the combo of this roll was aHHMazing....yellowtail was a great portion, herbaceous from the cilantro, the jalapeno added a little heat, the avocado was thinly sliced and so creamy and the tobiko was salty and crunchy...this was 8 pieces of heaven! They have GF soy sauce upon request. Their sake menu is really small but we went with a bottle of their unfiltered Snow Beauty. A little surprised the reviews weren't higher for this restaurant but I think it's low ratings because of the service. The servers are miserable and they're very obvious because they roll their eyes when you try to get their attention. We also noticed a ton of customers picking up to go orders. I will be one of those customers moving forward ha! read more

The odd thing about Kruba is that, for its prime location in the Yards, there is virtually never anyone in there. I honestly marvel at how they have stayed in business so long. In any case, I came here with friends one day (it was a game day and we were looking for a place that wasn't crowded...hard to do, except that there were only two other people in the restaurant when we went in). We ordered a mix of yellow, red, and veggie curries. Everything was remarkably unremarkable. We all felt that there was little to no flavor in any of the curries we ordered. The most subpar Thai delivery I've had is more flavorful than Kruba. Service was meh at best, perhaps because we were nearly the only people in the restaurant, which itself is rather large. I have felt no desire to return, given all the great options we have in Navy Yard. read more

I've been very hesitant to try kruba because the rating scared me! I'm glad I decided to try it out because the good is really delicious! We arrived around 5:15pm on a Saturday. It was completely empty. The hostess mentioned that they didn't open for inside dining until 5:30 but I could order to-go and eat outside. Our intention was to eat outside, so it worked. They also didn't offer service outside. It only took 15 minutes for our food. I also ordered a margarita! The calamari was freaking delicious! I've never had it that way. Honestly, it was like crispy nuggets! So so good, but needs the sprinkle of salt & sauce it comes with. My fried rice was really good and flavorful! I could've done without the shrimp. It was like an after thought, not seasoned and taste like frozen cooked shrimp. My 7 year old ordered the salmon roll and salmon hand roll (not on the menu but will make it for you). He said it was good. My husband ordered the Crispy Boneless Duck. He said he would order it again. I'll be back for more fried rice & calamari! read more

They show pretty pictures of the door but what they don't show you are the signs on the door saying "no separate checks" and "ApplePay not Accepted". My first time here on a recommendation from a coworker. Had kapaow, lunch special. First off, temperature wise, everything was served extremely hot, so test before stuffing yourself with yummy thai food. Lunch special came with a spring roll & miso soup. The spring roll was tasty, crispy and pleasant. However the miso soup had seen better days... ;) but I ate it, it was warm & it was cold outside. Now on to the main course, the kapaow had the spicy kick I love, plenty of chicken & it was really good. I really enjoyed it. Service was quick, has a nice long bar area and everyone who worked here was sweet & kind. Worth a stop if you are in the area. read more
