They do have canned sodas, but we were happy with our food. My husband loved his pork fried rice and shared that with our little one. Tried this Thai restaurant for the first time with coworkers today. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai, one coworker had the shrimp & chicken fried rice, and another got the cashew chicken. The service was great and everyone was friendly. My coworkers really enjoyed their dishes and thought the food was really good. My Pad Thai was just okay for me - the noodles tasted a little too soggy. I was also surprised that our group had to stay on one tab instead of separate checks. I ordered the Krunch Roll platter and she ordered California Rolls which was very similar to mine. We both ordered two glasses of their Merlot wine, while we were perusing their extensive menu and having a great conversation. The sushi chef was on his game last night and he did a great job preparing sushi for everyone. From the moment we were seated, until we finished our meal, everything was outstanding. This quaint restaurant is in a great spot one block from the Navy Yard waterfront. It was not as busy as the restaurants facing the water. It was quiet, dimly lit, and traditionally decorated. We enjoyed the various focal points around the room. Given that it was just an hour before closing, there was only two other parties dining in the restaurant at the time. I can't speak to how they are on a busy night. However, they were very attentive, friendly, and informative. Our appetizers and entrées arrived quickly. They were hot and delicious. It was a beautiful day and they wouldn't seat us on their awesome and huge patio :( that was a big disappointment. However, the ambience is nice inside and the pad Thai was tasty. A group of us were taking a boat ride from Navy Yard so, we wanted to have dinner first. After a quick vote we landed on Thai food. We were a group of six. We were greeted and sat immediately about 5ish on a Friday night without a reservation. Once seated our server was NOT friendly at all. I mean short and rude. I'm unsure why she was so rude since the restaurant just opened at 4:30. The menu was reasonably priced and there is quite a variety to choose from as well as sushi. I do think that it's a little unreasonable to charge an additional $4 to add broccoli to any dish broccoli is just a vegetable and pretty cheap to come by. The food overall was delicious and very flavorful and they understood spice levels well. We didn't order any drinks so I can't give my opinion on those. Of course the gratuity was included in the check since we were a party of six, but our server definitely didn't even deserve that. Not sure why this business has 3 stars. I went friday night after leaving a winery tour since my friends and me were all craving sushi. This was right across the street from District winery. I ordered miso soup and a green salad to start. It was cold outside so the Miso soup hit the spot. The salad came with a peanut dressing. The peanut dressing was very potent so I was not a fan. They didn't have any other dressing choices so the server recommended a sweet & sour sauce. It was good. I was able to enjoy my salad. For dinner I ordered two sushi rolls. Their prices were reasonable. I order a shrimp tempura roll & the spicy crab tempura roll with cream cheese and eel sauce. They were both very delicious. I am glad we checked out this place. If the sushi wasn't so good this place would have one star. It was my sisters birthday and since she loves sushi and has been here before we decided to give this place a try. My sister knew they had outside dining so I brought my dog along to join. I arrived first and asked for a table for 4 outside. They mentioned they closed but I could still order takeout. I was very confused because online hours say they are open until 10? Anyway - my sister joined shortly after this and decided we would get takeout here. While we were inside ordering sushi we were faced with such an attitude. We hadn't even got to look at the menu for a minute and we were rushed to order because then kitchen was closing in 45 minutes. The manager or owner (don't know her role at the restaurant) also mentioned the sushi would take 10 minutes to wait. Straight up now how you treat your customers - seemed like she didn't want our business. If it weren't my sisters bday we wouldn't have gone here honestly. There was no need to rush us like that - was really rude and unsettling. Definitely not coming back here. She was also super defensive about the restaurant closing at 8pm and said to check the website not google or yelp - i checked the website after we left and it says theyre open until 10 so whats this false advertisement...... for the sushi - everything was really good. they made the spicy crab and spicy shrimp tempura actually spicy which is rare. really enjoyed the kruba rolls definitely something unique. seaweed salad was also made with seaweed and tasted fresh and pretty authentic. no complaints on the food, just the service. read more

Kruba is accessible, though the entryway is a bit tight. The prices are reasonable and their lunch deal is great. The first time I tried Kruba was via delivery. The spring rolls leave much to be desired. Bland and not crisp at all, I am not a fan. But the vegetarian drunken noodles were great. Spicy and full of vegetables and tofu, I really enjoy them. However, even though I liked the noodles, I never considered visiting until a coworker suggested it for lunch. I ordered the lunch deal of green curry, miso soup, and gyoza. The odd thing about Kruba is that, for its prime location in the Yards, there is virtually never anyone in there. I honestly marvel at how they have stayed in business so long. In any case, I came here with friends one day (it was a game day and we were looking for a place that wasn't crowded...hard to do, except that there were only two other people in the restaurant when we went in). We ordered a mix of yellow, red, and veggie curries. Everything was remarkably unremarkable. We all felt that there was little to no flavor in any of the curries we ordered. The most subpar Thai delivery I've had is more flavorful than Kruba. Service was meh at best, perhaps because we were nearly the only people in the restaurant, which itself is rather large. I've been very hesitant to try kruba because the rating scared me! I'm glad I decided to try it out because the good is really delicious! We arrived around 5:15pm on a Saturday. It was completely empty. The hostess mentioned that they didn't open for inside dining until 5:30 but I could order to-go and eat outside. Our intention was to eat outside, so it worked. They also didn't offer service outside. It only took 15 minutes for our food. I also ordered a margarita! The calamari was freaking delicious! I've never had it that way. Honestly, it was like crispy nuggets! So so good, but needs the sprinkle of salt & sauce it comes with. My fried rice was really good and flavorful! I could've done without the shrimp. It was like an after thought, not seasoned and taste like frozen cooked shrimp. My 7 year old ordered the salmon roll and salmon hand roll (not on the menu but will make it for you).
